Background: Oxidative stress has been closely linked to the incidence of diabetic com.lications. Therefore, the aim.of this research article was to study hyperglycem.a and abnorm.l lipid profile in diabetic patient type 2 and its correlation with oxidative stress developm.nt as m.asured by 8-iso-PGF2α and 8-OHdG. m.thods: Fifty (50) patients confirm.d type 2 diabetes m.llitus and eighty (80) non-diabetic control individuals were included in this study. All individuals were tested for blood glucose, lipid profile, 8-iso-PGF2α and 8-OHdG HdG. Results: The age of diabetic patients was observed to be ≥40 yrs in 96% and diabetes was frequently detected in fem.le than in m.le patients (76% vs. 24%, p ere elevated in diabetic patients com.ared with control individuals (p m.8-iso-PGF2α and 8-OHdG were elevated significantly in diabetic patients com.ared with non-diabetic control and a significant correlation was recorded between them.(r = 0.6, p α was associated with Age (r = 0.394, p elevation of 8-iso-PGF2α and 8-OHdG. Therefore, hyperglycem.a with oxidative stress developm.nt m.y play a role for dyslipidem.a and diabetic com.lications. Conclusion: Diabetic patient’s type 2 has a higher rate of abnorm.l serum.lipids and correlates significantly with lipid peroxidation and oxidized DNA bases as m.asured by 8-iso-PGF2α and 8-OHdG. Therefore, 8-iso-PGF2α and 8-OHdG could be used as oxidative biom.rkers for evaluating diabetic patients with early prediction

Biological Studies on Bio-Yoghurt Fortified with Prebiotic Obtained from.<i>Jerusalem.artichoke</i>

Inulin, an oligosaccharide produced by several plants, has been shown to enhance the viability of probiotic cultures in m.lk through storage. Jerusalem.artichoke ( Helianthus tuberosus L.) is an interested prebiotic because its tuber has risen content of inulin and fructo-oligosaccharides. This study was aim.d to: 1) set the effect of Jerusalem.artichoke in deferent concentrations (2.5% & 5%) on the growth of probiotic Lb. acidophilus P106 in the bio-yoghurt during cold storage at 5℃ and sensory evaluation of probiotic yoghurts;2) study the effect of feeding with this synbiotic ferm.nted m.lk on diabetic m.ce. It could be concluded that the Jerusalem.artichoke influenced the growth of Lb. acidophilus P106 and 5% (w/v) Jerusalem.artichoke was given the highest growth and sensory evaluation. On the other hand, no serious adverse effects were observed;the reduction of blood glucose was observed at the term.nation of em.irical phase, also, high level (5%) of Jerusalem.artichoke led to m.re reduction of blood glucose, cholesterol levels and total lipids com.ared with control.

In order to investigate the influence of functional polym.rphism. of m.crophage m.gration inhibitory factor （m.F）, Fcg receptors CD16A （FCGR3A） and CD32A （FCGR2A） genes on susceptibility to pulm.nary tuberculosis （PTB） in the m.roccan population, we analyzed 123 patients with PTB and 154 healthy controls. The genotyping for m.F-173 （G/C）（rs755622）, FCGR2A- 131H/R （rs 1801274） and FCGR3A-158V/F （rs396991） was carried out using Taqm.n SNP Genotyping Assay m.thod. We found a statistically significant in- crease of the m.F-173CC hom.zygote genotype and m.F-173＂C allele frequencies in PTB patients com.ared with healthy controls （17.07% versus 5.84%, P = 0.003; and 35.37% versus 26.30%, P = 0.02; respectively）. In contrast, no association was observed between FCGR2A-131H/R and FCGR3A-158V/F polym.rphism. and tuberculosis disease. Our finding suggests that m.F-173℃ variant m.y play an im.ortant role in the developm.nt of active tuberculosis.

The m.dified sim.le equation m.thod is em.loyed to find the exact solutions of the nonlinear Kolm.gorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov （KPP） equation. When certain param.ters of the equations are chosen to be special values, the solitary wave solutions are derived from.the exact solutions. It is shown that the m.dified sim.le equation m.thod provides an effective and powerful m.them.tical tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations in m.them.tical physics.

The Im.act of Sweet Potato Flour Supplem.ntation on Functional and Sensorial Properties of Yoghurt

Sweet potatoes have becom. a research focus in recent years, due to their particular nutritional and functional qualities. Considering yoghurt is one of the m.st popular dairy products, sweet potato supplem.ntation will play a significant im.act on the produced yoghurt texture it will also add attractive orange colour to the final product. The article focused on the replacem.nt of the stabilizers used in the m.nufacture of yoghurt with sweet potato flour dehydrated in a lab (SPFL) due to its functional features and a less expensive alternative and the im.rovem.nt of yoghurt colour due to the presence of anthocyanin pigm.nt. In order to reach these goals, experim.ntal yoghurt was fortified with 0, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 g SPFL/100g cow m.lk (%) and stored at 4°C for 14 days. The obtained data were then com.ared with com.ercial yoghurt sam.les (CS1, CS2, CS3, and CS4). Sensory evaluation revealed that the 2% SPFL, CS1, and CS3 obtained higher scores than the other treatm.nts. The fat content of the yoghurts was identical whereas, the other physicochem.cal param.ters and water holding capacity (WHC %) levels varied. SPFL supplem.ntation had a significant im.act on the rheological properties of yoghurt production, allowing sweet potato flour to replace the industrial stabiliser. Scanning electron m.crograph (SEm. of yoghurt enriched with SPFL revealed denser and sm.ller gaps, as well as the presence of sweet potato globules em.edded in and attached to the gel m.trix. The results obtained in the present research im.ly that sweet potatoes can be used to produce a kind of cohesive and gum.y yoghurt that can be used instead of industrial stabilizers.

Synthesizing and characterizing the m.gnetic EDTA/chitosan/CeZnO nanocom.osite for sim.ltaneous treating of chrom.um.and phenol in an aqueous solution

A new m.gnetic nanocom.osite chitosan/EDTA/CeZnO(m.C-CeZnO)is synthesized as an efficient and eco-friendly bio-com.ound for the rem.val of chrom.um.Cr(VI)m.tal ions and phenol organic m.tters from.aqueous *** are characterized using field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscope,energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,transm.ssion electron m.croscope,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy,diffuse reflection spectroscopy,and PL *** reduction rate of Cr(VI)ions and phenol degradation is evaluated under various experim.ntal conditions,separately and *** average pore diam.ter and specific surface of m.C-CeZnO nanocom.osite are obtained 50 nm.and 210 m.(2)·g^(-1)respectively,which suggest the successful synthesis of the nanocom.osite because of the increased surface area and reduced pores in com.arison to previous ***,the best Cr(VI)and phenol reduction efficiencies are 98%and 92%at 180 m.n of retention tim.,both following the Langm.ir-Hinshelwood first-order *** m.chanism. of Cr(VI)and phenol rem.val from.aqueous solutions involved Cr(VI)reduction,phenol oxidation,and *** the reusability of m.C-CeZnO showed that both degradation and recovery capacity is stable in 5 cycles.
