Anti-inflammatory effects of Solanum procumbens on a low dose complete Freund's adjuvant-induced arthritis rat model

Objective:To investigate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Solanum procumbens on complete Freund’s adjuvantinduced arthritis rat ***:We isolated and identified five compounds in the ethanolsoluble Solanum procumbens extract(SP)with anti-inflammatory effects,including ursolic acid,β-sitosterol,hexadecanoic acid,cisvaccenic acid,and vanillic ***,we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of SP on rheumatoid arthritis symptoms,including paw volumes,local temperatures,withdrawal latency,and mechanical withdrawal threshold at the hind paw and white blood cell(WBC)number from complete Freund’s adjuvant-induced arthritis rat ***:We have successfully established a complete Freund’s adjuvant-induced arthritis rat model at a low dose(1 mg/mL).SP extract significantly reduced paw volumes(P<0.05),prolonged withdrawal latencies(P<0.05),decreased local temperature,and increased the mechanical withdrawal threshold(P<0.05),but only SP extract at the dose of 300 mg/kg significantly decreased WBC ***:SP extract could be a potential medication candidate with anti-inflammatory effects for arthritis,but it requires further investigation into the mechanism of the SP and its effectiveness on other models as well as clinical trials.

The objective of this study is to develop a novel and efficient model for forecasting the nonlinear behavior of structures in response to time-varying random *** key idea is to design a deep learning architecture to leverage the relationships,between external excitations and structure's vibration signals,and between historical values and future values,within multiple time-series *** proposed method consists of two main steps:the first step applies a global attention mechanism to combine multiple-measured time series and time-varying excitation into a weighted time series before feeding it to a temporal architecture;the second step utilizes a self-attention mechanism followed by a fully connected layer to predict multi-step future *** viability of the proposed method is demonstrated via two case studies involving synthetic data from a three-dimensional(3D)reinforced concrete structure and experimental data from an 18-story steel ***,comparison and robustness studies are carried out,showing that the proposed method outperforms conventional methods and maintains high performance in the presence of noise with an amplitude of less than 10%.

Fishing with artificial light has become one of the most advanced,efficient,and common methods for the night-time purse seining in *** study evaluated the radiation spectrum,CIE chromaticity coordinates,correlated color temperature(CCT),catch rate,fuel consumption,and CO_(2)emissions when using Light emitting diode(LED)lamps(0.196 kW)in comparison with the use of metal halide(MH)lights(1 kW)in the offshore purse seine fishery in Quang Tri province,*** fishing efficiency of the purse seine fishing boats using LED lamps has increased 1.58 times in catch rate than MH lights,although the energy consumption of LED lamp is 4 times *** consumption of boats per trip using LED lamps was one third of that using MH *** use of LED reduced the radiation spectrum,especially the intense UV radiation which negatively affects the health of *** study also showed the potential of CO_(2)emission reduction up to 1.09 tons of CO_(2)per trip per boat from the use of LED lamps in the offshore purse seine fishing boats.

Induction of Anthracnose Disease Resistance on Chili Fruit by Treatment of Oligochitosan—Nanosilica Hybrid Material

Oligochitosan (OC) with molecular weight Mw of 5000 g/mol was prepared by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of chitosan solution. Nanosilica (nSiO2) with the size of 10 - 30 nm was synthesized by calcination of acid treated rice husk. The mixture of 1% OC - 1% nSiO2 was prepared by dispersion of nSiO2 in OC solution. The morphology of nSiO2 in the mixture of OC-nSiO2 was measured from images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The effect of foliar application of the mixture of OC-nSiO2 on the induction of resistance against anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus on chili fruits was investigated. Results indicated that foliar application of OC-nSiO2 with the concentration of 60 mg/l - 60 mg/l was found to be as the optimal treatment that reduced the disease severity on chili fruits to 22.2% compared with 90.0% of the control. Thus, OC-nSiO2 hybrid material could be considered as an effective biotic elicitor to prevent anthracnose disease infection for chili fruits. Furthermore, the prepared OC-nSiO2 hybrid material can also be used as an environmentally friendly agrochemical product for sustainable development of agriculture.

Influence of Chitosan Binder on the Adhesion of Silver Nanoparticles on Cotton Fabric and Evaluation of Antibacterial Activity

Colloidal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with particle size less than 10 nm and concentration of 2 mM/L (~200 mg/L) were synthesized by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of Ag+/chitosan solutions with different chitosan concentration of 0.5%, 1% and 2% (w/v). Incorporation of AgNPs onto cotton fabric was carried out by padding method with 100% wet pick-up. The content of AgNPs deposited on cotton fabric and released from cotton fabric after repeated washing was determined by inductively couple plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). The results indicated that cotton/AgNPs fabric made from padding into AgNPs solution with 0.5% - 1% chitosan was the best one of AgNPs adhesion ability on cotton fabric. Results on antibacterial activity against S. aureus showed that cotton/AgNPs fabric with AgNPs content more than 100 mg/kg exhibited highly antibacterial activity (η > 98%). The mechanical property (tensile strength and elongation) of cotton/AgNPs fabrics was almost unchanged in comparison with untreated cotton fabric. Thus, the resultant cotton/AgNPs fabric with highly antibacterial activity can be potentially used as bed drapes and/or patient uniforms in hospitals, etc.

Aim:The anatomical study and clinical application for the vascularized corticoperiosteal fl ap from the medial femoral condyle have been performed and described *** prior studies have described the composite osteomyocutaneous fl ap from the medial femoral condyle,a detailed analysis of the vascularity of this region has not yet been fully ***:This anatomical study described the variability of the arteries from the medial femoral condyle in 40 cadaveric ***:The descending genicular artery(DGA)was found in 33 of 40 cases(82.5%).The superomedial genicular artery(SGA)was present in 10 cases(25%).All 33 cases(100%)of the DGA had articular branches to the periosteum of the medial femoral *** branches and saphenous branches of the DGA were present in 25 cases(62.5%)and 26 cases(70.3%),***:The current study demonstrates that the size and length of the vessels to the medial femoral condyle are suffi cient for a vascularized bone fl ap.A careful preoperative vascular assessment is essential prior to use of the vascularized composite osteomyocutaneous fl ap from the medial femoral condyle,because of the considerable anatomical variations in different branches of the DGA.

A new species of the genus Leptolalax (Anura： Megophryidae) from southern Vietnam

We describe a new species of megophryid frog from phu Yen Province in southern Vietnam. Leptolalax macrops sp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological attributes：（1） body size medium （SVL 28.0-29.3 mm in three adult males, 30.3 mm in single adult female）; （2） supra-axillary glands present, creamy white; ventrolateral glands indistinct; （3） tympanum externally distinct; （4） dorsal skin roughly granular with larger tubercles, dermal ridges on dorsum absent; （5） rudimentary webbing present between fingers I-II and I1-111; rudimentary webbing between all toes; fingers and toes without dermal fringes; （6） in life ventral surface greyish-violet with white speckling; （7） supratympanic fold distinct, dark brown in life; （8） iris bicolored, typically golden in upper half, fading to golden green in lower half; （9） tibia short （TbL/SVL 0.44-0.45 in males）; and （10） eyes large and protuberant （ED/SVL 0.15-0.16 in males） From all congeners for which comparable sequences are available, the new species differs markedly in the 16S rRNA mitochondrial gene sequence （P-distance〉5.7%）. The new species is currently known only from montane evergreen tropical forests of Song Hinh District, phu Yen Province, and M＇Drak District of Dak Lak Province at elevations of 470-630 m a.s.l.. We suggest the new species should be considered as Data Deficient following the IUCN＇s Red List categories. We also report a previously unknownLeptolalax mtDNA lineage from an evergreen tropica forest in the Hoa Thinh District of phu Yen Province which may also represent an undescribed species.

Background: In order to end tuberculosis(TB),it is necessary to expand coverage of TB care services,including systematic screening ***,more evidence is needed for groups among whom systematic screening is only conditionally recommended by the World Health *** study evaluated concurrent screening in multiple target groups using community health workers(CHW).Methods:: In our two-year intervention study lasting from October 2017 to September 2019,CHWs in six districts of Ho Chi Minh City,Viet Nam verbally screened three urban priority groups:(1)household TB contacts;(2)close TB contacts;and(3)residents of urban priority areas without clear documented exposure to TB including hotspots,boarding homes and urban *** persons were referred for further screening with chest radiography and follow-on testing with the Xpert MTB/RIF *** individuals with normal or without radiography results were tested on smear *** described the TB care cascade and characteristics for each priority group,and calculated yield and number needed to ***,we fitted a mixed-effect logistic regression to identify the association of these target groups and secondary patient covariates with TB treatment ***: We verbally screened 321020 people including 24232 household contacts,3182 social and close contacts and 293606 residents of urban priority *** resulted in 1138 persons treated for TB,of whom 85 were household contacts,39 were close contacts and 1014 belonged to urban priority area *** yield of active TB in these groups was 351,1226 and 345 per 100000,respectively,corresponding to numbers needed to screen of 285,82 and *** fitted model showed that close contacts[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)=2.07;95%CI:1.38–3.11;P<0.001]and urban priority area residents(aOR=2.18;95%CI:1.69–2.79;P<0.001)had a greater risk of active TB than household ***: The study detected a large number of un

据已有文献记载,香姜(姜科)(Alpinia coriandriodora D. Fang)仅分布于广西,现首次在越南发现其分布。该种在形态上与竹叶山姜(A. bambusifolia D. Fang)相近,但其叶片椭圆状披针形、唇瓣浅黄色及带红褐色条纹和花药附属体三角状而与后者有别。提供该种详细的形态学描述以及图版,亦包括在越南的分布及生态的资料。凭证标本保存于越南国立自然博物馆(VNMN)和中国科学院华南植物园(IBSC)。
