Rotation of a pair of wings was driven by the vertical harmonic motion of a pin inserted into the center hole of the *** elucidate the mechanism by which the rotational motion of the wings was excited,the relationship between the wings and the pin was examined by tracking their motions using both displacement measurements and high-speed *** motion modes occurred in this study were categorized into five types:slipping,rolling,jumping(without eccentricity),jumping(with eccentricity),and *** the case that the hole of the wings was located at a distance from the center of the wings,referred to as″with eccentricity,″the slipping,jumping(with eccentricity),and non-rotation modes *** experimental results showed that the mechanism of the jumping(with eccentricity)was different from that of the other modes(slipping,rolling,jumping(without eccentricity)),which are well known to be driven by the periodical reaction of the wings against the vertical vibration of the *** was found that the jumping(with eccentricity)was driven by the non-periodical force with the collision between the wing hole and the pin.

Magnetic diffusion plays an important role in inertial confinement fusion with strong magnetic *** this paper,we improve a previous analysis of the generation and diffusion of the magnetic field[Morita et al.,*** 25,094505(2018)].For the generation process,we calculate the temporal evolution of the coil current using a self-consistent circuit *** results show that the peak of the calculated magnetic field is delayed by 1.2 ns compared with that of the incident laser *** the diffusion process,we evaluate the electrical conductivity of warm dense gold over a wide temperature range(300K–100 eV)by combining the Kubo–Greenwood formula based on a quantum molecular dynamics simulation with the modified Spitzer *** simulation shows that the maximum magnetic field(530 T)that penetrates the cone is delayed by 2.5 ns compared with the laser *** result is consistent with experiments[Sakata et al.,***.9,3937(2018)]that showed that applying a strong magnetic field improved the heating efficiency of fusion fuel.

Background: One-lung ventilation (OLV) is generally adopted for thoracic surgery. The systemic application of a high fraction of inspiratory oxygen (F1O2) and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) to the non-ventilated lung is useful for preventing arterial oxygen desaturation. The adverse effects of elevated F1O2 include oxidative lung injury, resorption atelectasis and coronary and peripheral vasoconstriction. It is preferable to avoid hyperoxemia in patients with complications such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, idiopathic pneumonia, and bleomycin-treated lungs. We aimed to determine whether the application of 60% O2 CPAP to the non-ventilated lung is sufficient to provide adequate oxygenation with 60% O2 to the ventilated lung. Methods: A total of 70 patients scheduled to receive elective thoracic surgery requiring OLV were recruited. Left double-lumen tubes were applicable in all surgeries. Patients were randomly allocated to one of two groups, to receive either 60% O2 CPAP (60% CPAP group, n = 35), or 100% O2 CPAP (100% CPAP group, n = 35) at a setting of 2 - 3 cmH2O, applied to the non-ventilated lung. Arterial blood gas analyses were obtained at the following stages: RA, spontaneous breathing under room air (RA);TLV, during total lung ventilation (TLV) prior to the initiation of OLV;T5, 5 min after the initiation of OLV;T15, 15 min after the initiation of OLV;T30, 30 min after the initiation of OLV. Results: The PaO2 value in 60% CPAP group vs. 100% CPAP group at each measurement were as follows: RA (mean [standard deviation: SD], 89.7 [8.2] mmHg vs. 85.8 [11.9] mmHg);TLV (277.9 [52.9] mmHg vs. 269.2 [44.0] mmHg);T5 (191.4 [67.9] mmHg vs. 192.3 [66.0] mmHg);T15 (143.2 [67.3] mmHg vs. 154.7 [60.8] mmHg) and T30 (95.6 [32.0] mmHg vs. 112.5 [36.5] mmHg), respectively. BACKGROUND There is no established treatment to impede the progression or restore kidney function in human chronic kidney disease(CKD).AIM To examine the efficacy of cultured human CD34+cells with enhanced proliferating potential in kidney injury in *** Human umbilical cord blood(UCB)-derived CD34+cells were incubated for one week in vasculogenic conditioning *** culture significantly increased the number of CD34+cells and their ability to form endothelial progenitor cell colony-forming *** tubulointerstitial injury of the kidney was induced in immunodeficient non-obese diabetic/severe combined immunodeficiency mice,and cultured human UCB-CD34+cells were administered at a dose of 1×106/mouse on days 7,14,and 21 after the start of adenine *** Repetitive administration of cultured UCB-CD34+cells significantly improved the time-course of kidney dysfunction in the cell therapy group compared with that in the control *** interstitial fibrosis and tubular damage were significantly reduced in the cell therapy group compared with those in the control group(P<0.01).Microvasculature integrity was significantly preserved(P<0.01)and macrophage infiltration into kidney tissue was dramatically decreased in the cell therapy group compared with those in the control group(P<0.001).CONCLUSION Early intervention using human cultured CD34+cells significantly improved the progression of tubulointerstitial kidney *** administration of cultured human UCB-CD34+cells significantly improved tubulointerstitial damage in adenine-induced kidney injury in mice via vasculoprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.

In recent years,pollution caused by the discharge of industrial wastewater into Bohai Bay has posed a potential threat to the health of surrounding *** was collected from the outlet of a factory that discharges effluent into Bohai Bay,and alcohol extracts of sludge(SE)were *** confirmed by UPLC-MS/MS analysis that the SE contained PAHs,including fluorene,pyrene,and *** embryos as animal models were exposed to 0.1,0.3,0.5,1 and 5 mg/mL SE from 2 to 4 h post-fertilization(hpf)until 120 *** results showed that SE caused a concentration-dependent increase in mortality and a decrease in *** found that SE significantly reduced eye pigmentation and decreased the movement of embryos and *** addition,SE decreased triiodothyronine(T3)content and down-regulated the mRNA expression of some thyroid hormone-related genes including TPO and Thrβ,and caused the up-regulation of Dio2 and Dio3 at 120 *** to three individual PAHs found in SE,namely fluorene,pyrene,and phenanthrene,caused morphological and transcriptional changes that were similar to those caused by SE *** findings indicate that PAHs in SE can reduce the pigmentation of zebrafish,which may be related to the genetic changes associated with thyroid hormones,and that zebrafish eye pigmentation can be used as an indicator of PAHs exposure.

Preoperative microcoil embolization of the common hepatic artery for pancreatic body cancer

Aim： To investigate the effects of rat Erythropoietin （Epo） on spermatogenesis by transferring rat Epo gene into cryptorchid testes by means of in vivo electroporation. Methods： Sprague-Dawley rats with surgically-induced unilateral cryptorchidism were divided into three groups： the first group was given intratesticular injections of pCAGGS-Epo （pCAGGS-Epo group）, the second group was given intratesticular injections of pCAGGS （pCAGGS group）, and the third group were given intratesticular injections of phosphate-buffered saline （PBS group）. At the same time, square electric pulses of 30 V were applied six times with a time constant of 100 ms. One or two weeks after injection, each testis was weighed and the ratio of the total number of germ cells to that of Sertoli cells （G/S ratio） was calculated to evaluate the impairment of spermatogenesis. Ten testes taken from each of the three groups were examined at each time point. Results： The testicular weight after the injection of pCAGGS-Epo or pCAGGS control plasmid was （0.85 ± 0.08） g and （0.83 ± 0.03） g, respectively, at week 1 （P = 0.788） and （0.62 ± 0.06） g and （0.52 ± 0.02） g, respectively, at week 2 （P = 0.047）. At week 1, spermatids and sperm were more abundant in testes with pCAGGS-Epo than those in the control testes. At week 2, spermatids and sperm were hardly detected in either group. The G/S ratio was 23.27 ± 6.80 vs. 18.63 ± 5.30 at week 1 （P = 0.0078） and 7.16 ± 3.06 vs. 6.05 ± 1.58 at week 2 （P = 0.1471）, respectively. Conclusion： The transfer of Epo to rat testes by in vivo electroporation may reduce the risk of the germ cell loss caused by cryptorchidism.

AIM:To evaluate the usefulness of the microcatheter techniques in balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration (BRTO) of gastric ***:Fifty-six patients with gastric varices underwent BRTOs using microcatheters.A balloon catheter was inserted into gastrorenal or gastrocaval shunts.A microcatheter was navigated close to the varices,and sclerosant was injected into the varices through the microcatheter during balloon *** next morning,thrombosis of the varices was evaluated by contrast enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT).In patients with incomplete thrombosis of the varices,a second BRTO was performed the following *** were followed up with CE-CT and ***:In all 56 patients,sclerosant was selectively injected through the microcatheter close to the *** 9 patients,microcoil embolization of collateral veinswas performed using a *** 12 patients with incomplete thrombosis of the varices,additional injection of sclerosant was performed through the microcatheter that remained inserted *** thrombosis of the varices was achieved in 51 of 56 patients,and the remaining 5 patients showed incomplete thrombosis of the *** recurrence of the varices was found in the successful 51 patients after a median follow up time of 10.5 *** experienced one case of liver necrosis,and the other complications were ***:The microcatheter techniques are very effective methods for achieving a higher success rate of BRTO procedures.
