Rayleigh–Taylor(RT)instability,which occurs when a heavy fluid overlies a light fluid in a gravitational field,is an important scenario for planetary core formation,especially beneath the planetary magma *** process has been discussed based on numerical simulations and experiments using analog ***,experiments on the RT instability using the core-forming melt have not been performed at high *** this study,we perform in situ observation of the RT instability of liquid Fe and Fe–Si(Si10 and 20 wt.%)alloys under high pressure using a high-power laser-shock *** observed perturbation on the Fe–Si surface grows exponentially with time,while there is no obvious growth of perturbations on the Fe in the measured time ***,the growth rate of the RT instability increases with Si *** timescale of the initial growth of the RT instability in planetary interiors is likely to be much faster(by more than two orders of magnitude)than the 30–403106 year timescale of planetary core formation.

The possibility of driving poloidal flows by use of ion Bernstein wave is assessed for Heliotron J and EAST devices by means of ray tracing analysis. Sheared poloidal flow is expected to suppress plasma turbulences due to the decorrelation of the waves. In Heliotron J and EAST plasma, the rays of Ion Bernstein Wave travel into the central region with oscillations along the magnetic lines of force and their power is absorbed by ions at the cyclotron resonance layers. The momentum input has been estimated by calculating the momentum change of rays and the poloidal flow has been estimated using neoclassical viscosities. The wave momentum changes its sign as it propagates inward, depositing sheared momentum to the plasma, and therefore causes sheared poloidal flows.

BACKGROUND We frequently encounter cases of women with vasospastic angina(VSA).Additionally,some women with VSA are younger than 60 years ***,it is unknown whether the characteristics of VSA in women aged20%)detected using coronary angiography and focal spasms(coronary spasm within one segment of one coronary artery),and major cardiovascular adverse events(MACE)were assessed in both *** Smoking was more prevalent in Group Y than in Group O(P=0.04).FMD was similar in both groups(Group O:4.3%±3.2%,Group Y:4.5%±3.3%;P=0.75),whereas NID was higher in Group Y(20.5%±8.6%)than in Group O(13.6%±5.3%,P<0.01).Atherosclerosis was not detected in Group Y but was detected in Group O(61%,P<0.01).Focal spasms were less frequent in Group Y(12%)than in Group O(38%,P=0.04).The incidence of major adverse cardiac events did not differ between the two groups(P=0.40).CONCLUSIONWomen aged < 60 years with VSA have less atherosclerotic lesions and focal spasms. These characteristicsmay be affected by smoking habits and vascular smooth muscle dysfunction.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is known to cause gastrointestinal *** studies have revealed COVID-19-attributed acute pancreatitis(AP).However,clinical characteristics of COVID-19-attributed AP remain *** performed a narrative review to elucidate relation between COVID-19 and AP using the PubMed *** basic and pathological reports revealed expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 and transmembrane protease serine 2,key proteins that aid in the entry of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)into the *** experimental and pathological evaluation suggested that SARS-CoV-2 infects human endocrine and exocrine pancreas cells,and thus,SARS-CoV-2 may have a direct involvement in pancreatic ***,systemic inflammation,especially in children,may cause *** of immune mediators associated with AP,including interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-10,interferon-γ,monocyte chemotactic protein 1,and tumor necrosis factor-αare higher in the plasma of patients with COVID-19,that suggests an indirect involvement of the *** real-world settings,some clinical features of AP complicate COVID-19,such as a high complication rate of pancreatic necrosis,severe AP,and high ***,clinical features of COVID-19-attributed AP remain uncertain due to insufficient research on etiologies of ***,high-quality clinical studies and case reports that specify methods for differential diagnoses of other etiologies of AP are needed.

Phenomenological aspects of possible vacua of a neutrino flavor model

We discuss a supersymmetric model with discrete flavor symmetry A4×Z3. The additional scalar fields which contribute masses of leptons in the Yukawa terms are introduced in this model. We analyze their scalar potential and find that they have various vacuum structures. We show the relations among 24 different vacua and classify them into two types. We derive expressions of the lepton mixing angles, Dirac CP violating phase and Majorana phases for the two types. The model parameters which are allowed by the experimental data of the lepton mixing angles are different for each type. We also study the constraints on the model parameters which are related to Majorana phases. The different allowed regions of the model parameters for the two types are shown numerically for a given region of two combinations of the CP violating phases.

BACKGROUND Patients with vasospastic angina(VSA)sometimes experience prolonged chest *** clinical characteristics of these patients have not been *** To investigate the clinical characteristics of prolonged VSA *** This study included 167 patients with VSA diagnosed by spasm provocation tests(SPTs)using acetylcholine,which recorded the frequencies of positive reactions to a low dose of acetylcholine(L-ACh),total occlusion due to spasm(TOC),focal spasm,and the unavoidable use of nitroglycerin(unavoidable-NTG)during *** patients underwent a medical interview that investigated the maximum duration and frequency of chest symptoms as well as the frequencies of variant angina and other serious *** patients were divided into two groups based on the maximal duration:The short-duration group(<15 min;n=114)and the long-duration group(≥15 min;n=53).They were also divided into two groups based on the frequency of chest symptoms:The low-frequency group(<4/mo;n=88)and the high-frequency group(≥4/mo;n=79).RESULTS The long-duration group showed higher frequencies of other serious symptoms(P<0.001)and variant angina(P<0.05)as well as higher frequencies of spasm induction by L-ACh(P<0.05),TOC(P<0.05),focal spasm(P<0.01),and unavoidable-NTG(P<0.01)than the short-duration *** parameters did not differ significantly between the low-frequency and high-frequency *** These findings suggest that patients with VSA who experience prolonged chest symptoms may have more severe characteristics of VSA.

To the Editor:Obstructive jaundice due to unresectable malignant hilar obstruction can be treated by deployment of bilateral uncovered self-expandable metal stents(UCSEMSs),which enable longer stent patency to be obtained compared with multiple plastic stents[1-3].However,re-intervention is needed if obstructive jaundice occurs after bilateral UCSEMS *** re-intervention procedures,insertion of the stent delivery system across the mesh of a UCSEMS and into the bile duct can be challenging.A novel drill dilator has recently become available in Japan(Tornus ES;Asahi Intecc,Nagoya,Japan)(Fig.1)[4].The tract is easily dilated using a clockwise *** herein describe a successful re-intervention using this device for a patient with occluded bilateral UCSEMSs.

目的比较6-羟基多巴胺(6-OHDA)损毁单侧纹状体和单侧内侧前脑束(MFB)帕金森病(PD)大鼠模型以不同电流强度行丘脑底核(STN)脑深部电刺激术(DBS)后的行为学差异。方法将24只成年雄性SD大鼠随机分为1位点纹状体损毁组(n=12)和MFB损毁组(n=12)。对两组大鼠模型分别以0、100、150和200μA逐步增加的电流强度行STN-DBS治疗,比较两组在甲基苯丙胺诱导的旋转实验、步行实验和旋转棒实验中的不同表现。结果在甲基苯丙胺诱导的旋转实验中,电流强度达到200μA时,MFB损毁组的旋转圈数降至(0.7±0.5)r/min,而1位点纹状体损毁组则完全停止了旋转(0 r/min),与150μA刺激时相比,两组模型的旋转症状都得到了显著改善(P<0.01)。在步行实验和旋转棒实验中,电流强度达到150μA时,与100μA刺激时相比,1位点纹状体损毁组和MFB损毁组启动时间分别显著缩短为(4.2±1.8)s和(18±2.3)s,平均步长长度分别显著增加为(14.6±0.6)cm和(14.8±0.8)cm,步伐调整数(前进)分别显著增加为(4.5±0.5)步和(4.2±0.4)步,步伐调整数(后退)分别显著增加为(11.2±0.3)步和(11.4±0.4)步;旋转棒实验综合成绩结果(ORP)分别提高为(3405±572)分和(2904±931)分;运动障碍症状都得到显著改善(P<0.01)。结论在PD大鼠模型STN-DBS治疗实验中,不同症状获得显著治疗效果的电刺激参数是不同的,应根据不同实验目的,选取合适的行为学实验方法来筛选最佳电刺激参数。
