OBJECTIVE:To investigate the phytochemicals and in vitro antioxidant,antimicrobial and cytotoxic potential of Rumex dentatus(***)leaf ***:The total phenolics and flavonoids content of *** extracts were evaluated by the Folin-Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride colorimetric methods *** potential of studied plant extracts was assessed through 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging capacity,total reducing power and total antioxidant ***,antibacterial and antifungal capacity was also evaluated by disc diffusion method against six clinically isolated multi-drug resistant bacterial strains as well as six fungal ***,cell cytotoxicity was also evaluated through3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide ***:Ethanol extract showed highest total phenolic[(38.9±1.5)μg gallic acid equivalent/mg]and total flavonoids[(17.2±1.9)μg quercetin equivalent/mg]*** assays indicated that ethanol and methanol extracts possess potent antioxidant ***,it was observed that ethanol and hexane extracts have the potential to inhibit most of the tested multi-drug resistant bacterial strains while methanol,chloroform and hexane extracts could inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungal strains *** all the studied extracts,ethanolic extract showed highest cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cell line then Hep-2 and DU-145 cell lines by MTT assay with lowest IC50 of 47.3μg/m ***:These results suggest that *** could be a potent alternative candidate for treatment of microbial infections and for breast cancer treatment.

Objective:To explore antioxidant potential,anti-cancer activity,and phytochemicals of Commelina benghalensis ***:The roots of Commelina benghalensis were extracted in different solvents(methanol,ethanol,benzene,chloroform,n-hexane)with a range of *** activity was evaluated by reducing power assay,DPPH radical scavenging activity and phosphomolybdenum method,cytotoxicity by MTT assay,apoptotic and cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry,migratory and invasive potential by wound scratch assay and invasion assay,respectively,functional groups analysis by FT-IR spectroscopy and phytochemicals by aluminum chloride colorimetric and FolinCiocalteu ***:The extracts showed worthy antioxidant *** chloroform extract demonstrated the most significant cytotoxic effect on MDA-MB-231(breast cancer)cell line,induced apoptosis and reduced migratory and invasive potential of MDA-MB-231 *** and ethanol extracts presented good yield of total phenolic and total flavonoid *** FTIR spectroscopic studies revealed different characteristic peak values with various functional compounds such as alkenes,alkanes,aliphatic amines,aromatics,alkyl halides,carboxylic acid,alcohols,ester,aldehydes and ***:The results demonstrate the potential use of Commelina benghalensis as a good antioxidant with significant anticancer effect.

Analysis of Combined Convective and Viscous Dissipation Effects for Peristaltic Flow of Rabinowitsch Fluid Model

In this article, mathematical modeling for peristaltic flow of Rabinowitsch fluid model is considered in a non-uniform tube with combined effects of viscous dissipation and convective boundary conditions. Wall properties analysis is also taken into account. Non-dimensional differential equations are simplified by using the well-known assumptions of low Reynolds number and long wavelength. The influence of various parameters connected with this flow problem such as rigidity parameter E1, stiffness parameter E2, viscous damping force parameter E3, Brickman number and Biot number are plotted for velocity distribution, temperature profile and for stream function. Results are plotted and discussed in detail for shear thinning, shear thickening and for viscous fluid. It is found that velocity profile is an increasing function of rigidity parameter, stiffness parameter, and viscous damping force parameter for shear thinning and for viscous fluid, due to the less resistance offered by the walls but, quite opposite behavior is depicted for shear thickening fluids. It is seen that Brickman number relates to the viscous dissipation effects, so it contributes in enhancing fluid temperature for all cases.

Polarization multiplexing based duplex radio-over-fiber link for millimeter wave signal transmission to a ring of multiple radio access units

A radio-over-fiber(RoF) distributed antenna system(DAS) architecture is proposed, where millimeter wave(mm-wave) signals are transmitted to four different radio access units(RAUs) arranged in a ring *** proposed architecture transmits duplex data of 128 Mb/s to each RAU in both downlink(DL) and uplink(UL)directions. The radio frequency(RF) signals are transmitted by polarization multiplexing a multi-wavelength ***-wave signals at a frequency of 25 GHz are generated at each RAU using remote heterodyne *** proposed architecture provides increased coverage while maintaining good bit error rate(BER) results.

Upper-and Lower-tropospheric Circulation Anomalies Associated with Interannual Variation of Pakistan Rainfall during Summer

This study investigated the large-scale circulation anomalies,in both the upper and lower troposphere,associated with the interannual variation of rainfall in Pakistan during summer,using the station observation data in this country and circulation data of the NCEP−NCAR reanalysis from 1981 to *** showed that the upper-and lower-tropospheric circulation anomalies associated with monthly rainfall variability exhibit similar features from June to August,so analyses were performed on June−August circulation and Pakistan rainfall *** analyzed results indicated that summer rainfall in Pakistan is enhanced when there is an anticyclonic anomaly to the northwest of Pakistan in the upper troposphere and easterly anomalies along the southern foothills of the Himalayas in the lower troposphere,and vice *** upper-and lower-tropospheric circulation anomalies were found to be related,but show unique *** upper-tropospheric anticyclonic anomaly is closely related to the Silk Road Pattern along the Asian westerly jet,while the lower-tropospheric easterly anomalies are related to the cyclonic anomaly to the south of Pakistan,i.e.,intensified South Asian monsoon *** results presented here suggest that the interannual variability of summer rainfall in Pakistan is a combined result of upper-and lower-tropospheric circulation anomalies,and of extratropical and tropical circulation anomalies.

In vitro meat production: Challenges and benefits over conventional meat production

In vitro meat production system is the production of meat outside the food animals by culturing the stem cells derived from farm animals inside the bioreactor by using advanced tissue engineering techniques. Besides winning the favour of animal rights activists for its humane production of meat, in vitro meat production system also circumvents many of the issues associated with conventional meat production systems, like excessively brutal slaughter of food animals, nutrition-related diseases, foodborne illnesses, resource use, antibiotic-resistant pathogen strains, and massive emissions of methane that contribute to global warming. As the conditions in an in vitro meat production system are controlled and manipulatable, it will be feasible to produce designer, chemically safe and disease-free meat on sustainable basis. However, many challenges are to be faced before cultured meat becomes commercially feasible. Although, the production cost and the public acceptance are of paramount importance, huge funds are desperately required for further research in the field.

Determination of physical properties for the mixtures of [BMIM]Cl with different organic solvents

Physical properties including refractive index, density, viscosity and conductivity for binary mixtures of l-butyl- 3-methyl imidazolium chloride （[BMIM]CI） and different organic solvents at 298.15 K have been investigated. Ex- cess molar volumes have been calculated and obtained data has been fitted by the Redlich-Kister equation. The density and refractive index were found to increase with increasing concentration of [BMIM]CI, however, excep- tions do exist as in the case of dimethyl sulfoxide （DMSO）/[BMIM]CI. For DMSO/[BMIM]CI, the density decreases with increasing concentration. The addition of different organic solvents was able to disrupt the interactions within mixtures, leading to free mobility of ions. The free mobility of ions has been found to enhance conductivity and decrease viscosity to varying extents in all mixtures studied. It has been observed that solubility parameters, dielectric constants and composition of the solvents used play a vital role in determining the resultant properties. The data obtained will play an important role in understanding the effect of the addition of organic solvents in ILs to enhance their applicability.
