Primary objective of the paper is to represent the functionality of nanotechnology in Enhanced Oil recovery(EOr).Nanoparticles can resist high temperature and pressure in subsurface oil reservoir system and exhibit different properties compared to same fine or bulk *** to small in size,it increases surface area and it creates massive diffusion driving force at higher pressure and *** small surface area,it contains much higher concentration of *** are used to modify optical,specific,thermal,interfacial properties of tight oil reservoir with 5e50 mm size pore diameter which consists trapped oil in *** reveals that by controlling nano mineral complexes can increase recovery of oil in oil field due to capillary hysteresis value change and specific behavior of clay *** boost the oil recovery by mechanism of reduction in mobility ratio which reduces viscosity of heavy oil and interfacial tension and increase in fault lines *** like silane treated silicon oxides,aluminium oxides in brine can be *** have tendency of displacement of water and magnifies flow of oil in *** nanoparticles performance depends upon its operational condition for EOr *** modern oil and gas domain by using EOr technique have oil recovery factor magnitude of 0.3e0.5;but by using nanotechnology there will be growth in oil&gas recovery efficiently and guarantying oil recovery factor range up to 0.5 to *** is not possible to know all application of nanotechnologies;but some experimental results and advanced technologies deduce that there is reduction in cost of hydrocarbon production for its market use by application of nanotechnology in *** advancement in nanotechnologies can increase more recovery of oil&gas.

Organophosphates(OPs)are an integral part of modern agriculture;however,due to overexploitation,OPs pesticides residues are leaching and accumulating in the soil,and groundwater contaminated terrestrial and aquatic food *** exposure to OPs could produce toxicity in insects,plants,animals,and *** are known for covalent inhibition of acetylcholinesterase enzyme in pests and terrestrial/aquatic organisms,leading to nervous,respiratory,reproductive,and hepatic *** pesticides also disrupt the growth-promoting machinery in plants by inhibiting key enzymes,permeability,and trans-cuticular diffusion,which is crucial for plant *** use of OPs,directly/indirectly affecting human/environmental health,raise a thoughtful global *** a safe,reliable,economical,and eco-friendly methods for removing OPs pesticides from the environment is thus *** techniques coupled with microbes or microbial-biocatalysts are emerging as promising antidotes for OPs ***,we comprehensively review the current scenario of OPs pollution,their toxicity(at a molecular level),and the recent advancements in biotechnology(modified biocatalytic systems)for detection,decontamination,and bioremediation of OP-pesticides in polluted ***,the review focuses on onsite applications of OPs degrading enzymes(immobilizations/biosensors/others),and it also highlights remaining challenges with future approaches.

Increasing access to kidney transplantation for sensitized recipient through three-way kidney paired donation with desensitization: The first Indian report

The combination of kidney paired donation(KPD) with desensitization represents a promising method of increasing the rate of living donor kidney transplantation(LDKT) in immunologically challenging patients. Patients who are difficult to match and desensitize due to strong donor specific antibody are may be transplanted by a combination of desensitization and KPD protocol with more immunologically favorable donor. We present our experience of combination of desensitization protocol with three-way KPD which contributed to successful LDKT in highly sensitized end stage renal disease patient. All recipients were discharged with normal and stable allograft function at 24 mo follow up. We believe that this is first report from India where three-way KPD exchange was performed with the combination of KPD and desensitization. The combination of desensitization protocol with KPD improves access and outcomes of LDKT.

A GFP-based bacterial biosensor with chromosomally integrated sensing cassette for quantitative detection of Hg(Ⅱ) in environment

A mercury biosensor was constructed by integrating biosensor genetic elements into E. coli JM109 chromosome in a single copy number, using the attP/attB recombination mechanism of λ phage. The genetic elements used include a regulatory protein gene （merr） along with operator/promoter （O/P） derived from the mercury resistance operon from pDU1358 plasmid of Serratia marcescens. The expression of reporter gene gfp is also controlled by merr/O/P. Integration of the construct into the chromosome was done to increase the stability and precision of the biosensor. This biosensor could detect Hg（Ⅱ） ions in the concentration range of 100–1700 nmol/L, and manifest the result as the expression of GFP. The GFP expression was significantly different （P 0.05） for each concentration of inducing Hg（Ⅱ） ions in the detection range, which reduces the chances of misinterpretation of results. A model using regression method was also derived for the quantification of the concentration of Hg（Ⅱ） in water samples.

Substrate Evolution to Microstructural and Optoelectrical Properties of Evaporated CdS Thin Films Correlated with Elemental Composition

A typical high-e fficiency solar cell device needs the best lattice matching between different constituent layers to mitigate the open-circuit voltage loss. In the present work, the physical properties of CdS thin films are investigated where films with 100 nm thickness were fabricated on the different types of substrates viz. soda–lime glass, indium-doped tin oxide(ITO)-and fl uorine-doped tin oxide(FTO)-coated glass substrates, and silicon wafer using electron beam evaporation. The X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed that deposited thin films showed cubic phase and had(111) as predominant orientation where the structural parameters were observed to be varied with nature of substrates. The ohmic behaviour of the CdS films was disclosed by current–voltage characteristics, whereas the scanning electron microscopy micrograph revealed the uniform deposition of the CdS films with the presence of round-shaped grains. The elemental analysis confirmed the CdS films deposition where the Cd/S weight percentage ratio was changed with nature of substrates. The direct energy band gap was observed in the 1.63–2.50 ev range for the films grown on different substrates. The investigated properties of thin CdS layers demonstrated that the selection of substrate(in terms of nature) during device fabrication plays a crucial role.

International kidney paired donation transplantations to increase kidney transplant of O group and highly sensitized patient: First report from India

AIM To report the first international living related two way kidney paired donation(KPD) transplantation from India which occurred on 17 th February 2015 after legal per-mission from authorization committee. METHODS Donor recipient pairs were from Portugal and India who were highly sensitized and ABO incompatible with their spouse respectively. The two donor recipient pairs had negative lymphocyte cross-matching, flow cross-matchand donor specific antibody in two way kidney exchange with the intended KPD donor. Local KPD options were fully explored for Indian patient prior to embarking on international KPD. rESULTS Both pairs underwent simultaneous uneventful kidney transplant surgeries and creatinine was 1 mg/d L on tacrolimus based immunosuppression at 11 mo follow up. The uniqueness of these transplantations was that they are first international KPD transplantations in our *** International KPD will increases quality and quantity of living donor kidney transplantation. This could be an important step to solving the kidney shortage with additional benefit of reduced costs, improved quality and increased access for difficult to match incompatible pairs like O blood group patient with non-O donor and sensitized patient. To the best of our knowledge this is first international KPD transplantation from India.

Six end-stage renal disease patients benefited from first non-simultaneous single center 6-way kidney exchange transplantation in India

AIM To avoid desensitization protocols and ABO incompatible kidney transplantation(KT) due to high costs and increased risk of infections from intense *** We present institutional ethical review board- approved study of single center 6-way kidney exchange transplantation. The participants comprised ABO incompatibility(n = 1); positive cross-match and/or presence of donor specific antibody(n = 5). The average time required from registration in kidney paired donation(KPD) registry to find suitable donors was 45 d and time required to perform transplants after legal permission was 2 mo. rESULTS Graft and patient survival were 100%, and 100%, respectively. One patient had biopsy-proven acute borderline T cell rejection(Banff update 2013, type 3). Mean serum creatinine was 0.8 mg/dL at 9 mo followup. The waiting time in KPD was short as compared to deceased donor KT. CONCLUSION We report first non-simultaneous, single center, 6-way kidney exchange transplantation from India. Our experience will encourage other centers in India to undertake this practice.

Past, present and future of kidney paired donation transplantation in India

One third of healthy willing living kidney donors are rejected due to ABO blood group incompatibility and donor specific antibody. This increases pre-transplant dialysis duration leading to increased morbidity and mortality on the kidney transplantation waiting list. Over the last decade kidney paired donation is most rapidly increased source of living kidney donors. In a kidney transplantation program dominated by living donor kidney transplantation, kidney paired donation is a legal and valid alternative strategy to increase living donor kidney transplantation. This is more useful in countries with limited resources where ABO incompatible kidney transplantation or desensitization protocol is not feasible because of costs/infectious complications and deceased donor kidney transplantation is in initial stages. The matching allocation, ABO blood type imbalance, reciprocity, simultaneity, geography were the limitation for the expansion of kidney paired donation. Here we describe different successful ways to increase living donor kidney transplantation through kidney paired donation. Compatible pairs, domino chain, combination of kidney paired donation with desensitization or ABO incompatible transplantation, international kidney paired donation, nonsimultaneous, extended, altruistic donor chain and list exchange are different ways to expand the donor *** absence of national kidney paired donation program,a dedicated kidney paired donation team will increase access to living donor kidney transplantation in individual centres with team work. Use of social networking sites to expand donor pool, HLA based national kidney paired donation program will increase quality and quantity of kidney paired donation transplantation. Transplant centres should remove the barriers to a broader implementation of multicentre, national kidney paired donation program to further optimize potential of kidney paired donation to increase transplantation of O group and sensitized patients. Objective:To study the potential role of subjective visual vertical(Svv)as a prognostic marker for canalith repositioning maneuver(CrM)in patients with posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(PC-BPPv)for the Indian ***:Svv was examined in 30 patients with PC-BPPv before and after canalith repositioning maneuver and after complete resolution of *** parameters included the mean of 10 angular tilt readings and direction of deviation,which were compared before and after CrM and following complete resolution of ***:The angle of Svv tilt was greater and deviated towards the affected ear before CrM in all patients,which decreased significantly shortly after CrM and continued to decrease after complete resolution of PC-BPPv(pvv can be used to test utricular dysfunction in *** angle of tilt improves in response to CrM,which may be used as a prognostic marker in patients with PC-BPPv receiving CrM.
