This paper shows the procedure to obtain a continuous coverage map based on a collection of power meas- urements using a Geographic Information System, through satellite photographs of the Professional Unit Adolfo Lopez Mateos, and a group of punctual samples of the power of the Common Pilot Channel (CPICH);which is used to estimate the radio communications channel conditions, taken at different positions and dis- tances. These samples were taken using specialized equipment to obtain georeferenced measurements, and by a technique of statistical prediction, as the Krige Method, generate continuous coverage maps, making it possible to know the distribution of power, and therefore understanding the behavior and configuration of a Base Station, which in third generation cellular systems is also called Node B.

Depositional Setting and Petrophysical Evaluation of Reservoir of the K-Field in the Western Offshore Depobelt, Rio Del Rey Basin, Cameroon

The Rio Del Rey basin is a prolific petroleum field on the Continental margin of the gulf of Guinea and is one of the major producers in the gulf. The study was carried out using Schlumberger Petrel and Synergy Interactive Petrophysics software for the sequence stratigraphy and petrophysical analysis to study the depositional setting of the Rio Del Rey Basin, using Well Log Data. Five sequence boundaries, five Transgressive Surfaces and four Maximum Flooding Surfaces were identified from wireline log. The progradation of sediments is characterised by a number of stacked sequences deposited in a coastal complex, with offshore, shoreface, beach and tidal deposits. Sequence one contains mostly Lower shoreface deposits of fine to very fine laminated sediments. In sequence two there is, an increase proportion of upper shoreface deposits. Sequence three is dominated by upper shoreface and distributary channels deposits with a concomitant reduction of lower shoreface deposits while sequence four and five contain mostly stack distributary channels and beach deposits. The study has aided the identification and interpretation of two gas bearing and two oil bearing zones in the three wells based on hydrocarbon-typing using the sonic-resistivity logcombination. The total and effective porosities of the reservoirs range from 20% to 31% and 15% to 31% respectively, indicating that the reservoirs have very good porosities. The ratio of the net to gross thickness of the reservoirs is as high as 0.83. The water saturation values of the reservoirs ranges from 11% - 80%. The results of the petrophysical investigation show that the sand formations have good reservoir properties. The vertical facies succession records a migration/translation of laterally linked depositional environment, controlling reservoir properties like geometry, heterogeneity, porosity and permeability.

Although having five different ways of transmission the vector-borne is the principal way of transmission of Chagas disease, which involves insects of the subfamily Triatominae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). Nineteen of the 31 species that occur in Mexico are associated with humans, and all are capable of transmitting the disease. Pyrethroids are the insecticides recommended for the control of these vectors in Mexico. We determined the susceptibility to the pyrethroids dcltamethrin and permethrin of peridomestic populations of Triatoma mazzottii Usinger and two populations of Triatoma longipetmis Usinger in comparison with a reference strain for each species. Bioassays were performed for the determination of the LD50 for both field populations and reference strains. A maximum of 27 fold resistance to deltamethrin was observed in T. mazzottii, meanwhile, for permethrin, T. longipennis from Jalisco show the highest value of 3.19 fold. There was significantly increased activity of esterases in field populations in comparison with their corresponding reference strain. The results of the search of kdr mutations related to the resistance to deltamethrin and permethrin in the evaluated species show the presence of mutations in the field populations, as is the case with individuals of T. mazzottii, for which the mutation was found A943V, and for the two populations of T. longipennis included in this study, we report the presence of the kdr mutation K964R. Evaluation of the various mechanisms involved in resistance to pyrethroids in triatomines from Mexico could guide us to the real justification for insecticide resistance monitoring.

High voltage lines are one of the main ways for carrying electric energy. To do so high voltage insulators are needed to insulate these lines from the supporting towers. Glass, ceramic and polymer insulators are widely used. Generally high voltage insulators are exposed to weather where humidity, from rain and moist, together with pollution allows accumulation of unwanted material on the surface of the insulator. Cleaning procedures are then needed to remove such material and avoid short-circuiting. The most commonly used cleaning methods are hand cleaning using chemicals that need turning off the main and water jet, which allows keeping the line in service. In this work we explore the possibility of using laser ablation for cleaning high voltage ceramic insulators. It is demonstrated that cleaning can be accomplished by a two-step process. First a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser is used to ablate the unwanted material. The second step is to use a free running Nd: YAG laser to restore the surface hydrophobicity of ceramic insulator, which is affected in the first process step.

We present results of a long-term study aimed to optimize Nile tilapia O. niloticus production in a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) in México City. Three experiments were evaluated: 1) fry production;2) production of masculinized fries;and 3) assessment of growth under three different densities (10, 30 and 75 fish/m3). The broodstock produced on average 2400 ± 600 fry every 15 days during six months, with a total production of 28,800 ± 2000. One hundred percent males were produced in 274-L raceways in an eight-week period. The obtained results in fish production in the RAS system indicated variations related to density. A daily growth rate of 3.6 g/day was registered with a density of 10 fish/m3, 0.9 g/day in 30 fish/m3 and 0.4 g/day in 75 fish/m3. This information could be useful for production purposes in this type of systems.
