Hexagonal nano-crystalline boron carbonitride (h-BCN) films grown on Si (100) substrate have been precisely investigated. The films were synthesized by radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition using tris-dimethylamino borane as a single-source molecular precursor. The deposition was performed by setting RF power at 400 - 800 W. The reaction pressure was at 2.6 Pa and the substrate temperature was recorded at 700°C - 800°C. Formation of the nano-crystalline h-BCN compound has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The diffraction peaks at 26.3° together with a small unknown peak at 29.2° were elucidated due to the formation of an h-BCN structure. The films composed of B, C, and N atoms with different B-N, B-C, C-N chemical bonds in forming the sp2-BCN atomic configuration studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Orientation and local structures of the h-BCN hybrid were studied by near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) measurements. The dominant presence of p* and s* resonance peaks of the sp2-hybrid orbitals in the B K-edge NEXAFS spectra revealed the formation of the sp2-BCN configuration around B atoms like-BN3 in h-BN. The orientation was suggested on the basis of the polarization dependence of B K-edge and N K-edge of the NEXAFS spectra.

BACKGROUND Tumoral calcinosis is a condition characterized by deposits of calcium phosphate crystals in extra-articular soft tissues,occurring in hemodialysis *** phosphate crystals are mainly composed of hydroxyapatite,which is highly infilt-rative to tissues,thus making complete resection *** adjuvant method to remove or resolve the residual crystals during the operation is *** SUMMARY A bicarbonate Ringer’s solution with bicarbonate ions(28 mEq/L)was used as the *** resecting calcium phosphate deposits of tumoral calcinosis as much as possible,while filling with the solution,residual calcium phosphate deposits at the pseudocyst wall can be gently scraped by fingers or gauze in the operative field.A 49-year-old female undergoing hemodialysis for 15 years had swelling with calcium deposition for 2 years in the shoulders,bilateral hip joints,and the right foot.A shoulder lesion was resected,but the calcification remained and early re-deposition was *** the difficulty of a complete rection,we devised a bicarbonate dissolution method and excised the foot *** resection of the calcified material,the residual calcified material was washed away with bicarbonate Ringer’s *** The bicarbonate dissolution method is a new,simple,and effective treatment for tumoral calcinosis in hemodialysis patients.

Relationship between Nonexercise Activity Thermogenesis and Calf Circumference in Older Women

Purpose: Frailty is a state of declined vitality of the body and mind with age in which life functions are impaired. In addition, there is a difference in the susceptibility of older women to frailty compared with that of older men. Therefore, assessing and encouraging physical activity in older adults before they become frail is essential. We aimed to clarify the relationship between calf circumference and body composition and assess the potential association between calf circumference and physical activity indices in older women. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 18 healthy older adults (age 69.0 ± 5.7 years). The physical characteristics, calf circumference, body composition, calf muscle thickness, and physical activity questionnaire that included items on exercise-related activity thermogenesis (EAT) and nonexercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT) were assessed. The association between calf circumference and these additional measures was examined. Results: Positive and significant correlations were found between the calf circumference and body weight, body mass index (BMI), skeletal muscle mass, skeletal muscle mass index, calf muscle thickness, total questionnaire score, and NEAT score (r = 0.66 - 0.87). However, no significant correlations were observed between the calf circumference and EAT scores. Conclusion: Calf circumference in older women may reflect NEAT activity. Improving NEAT activity is an important health-promoting factor in older women.

The aim of this study was to develop a general-purpose electric off-road robot vehicle by using automatic control *** vehicle prototype used in this study was a commercially-purchased electricity utility vehicle that was designed originally for manual operations.A manipulating unit,an automatic steering system and a speed control system were developed and integrated into a CAN-bus network for operating on functions(forward,reverse,park or stop),realizing desired steering angles and maintaining a constant speed,respectively,in the mode of *** autonomous navigation system based on RTK-GPS and IMU was used to evaluate the performance of the newly developed off-road *** tests showed that the maximum error in speed control was 0.29 m/s and 0.22 m/s for speed tests and autonomous runs,*** lateral offset was less than 10 cm in terms of straight paths,indicating that the automatic steering control system was of good performance.

AIM： To evaluate the effect of combination treatment with the interferon （IFN） and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor （ACE-Ⅰ） on several fibrotic indices in patients with refractory chronic hepatitis C （CHC）. METHODS： Perindopril （an ACE-Ⅰ; 4 mg/d） and/or natural IFN （3 MU/L; 3 times a week） were administered for 12 mo to refractory CHC patients, and several indices of serum fibrosis markers were analyzed. RESULTS： ACE-Ⅰ decreased the serum fibrosis markers, whereas single treatment with IFN did not exert these inhibitory effects. However, IFN significantly augmented the effects of ACE-Ⅰ, and the combination treatment exerted the most potent inhibitory effects. The serum levels of alanine transaminase and HCV-RNA were not significantly different between the groups, whereas the plasma level of transforming growth factor-β was significantly attenuated almost in parallel with suppression of the serum fibrosis markers. CONCLUSION： The combination therapy of an ACE-Ⅰand IFN may have a diverse effect on disease progression in patients with CHC refractory to IFN therapy through its anti-fibrotic effect.

An adaptive turning algorithm for a four-wheel robot tractor in the headland is presented in this *** navigation sensors consisted of an inertial measurement unit and a real-time kinematic global positioning system(GPS).An objective function based on weights was used to create the navigation path,connecting by continuous *** asymmetric steering mechanism was then taken into consideration with a vehicle *** follow the path accurately,the slide movement of the robot and the steering rate were taken into account by estimating the turning radius in real *** addition,the vehicle model was tuned based on the results of each ***,the turning control algorithm was optimized on the basis of the specific conditions in the *** experiments showed that the robot tractor approached the next path with an average lateral deviation of 3.9 cm at a speed of 1.2 m/s during a *** to a conventional turning scheme,the time consumption and turning trajectory were decreased by 17%and 21%,respectively.
