The existence of the Cretaceous-Tertiary （K/T） boundary in the non-marine succession is expected at Jiayin in the Heilongjiang River area, China. Zircons from a tuff sample from the Baishantou Member of Wuyun Formation in Jiayin were analyzed by the laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry （LA-ICP-MS） U-Pb dating and fission-track dating methods. Ages of 64.1±0.7 Ma （U-Pb） and 61.7±1.8 Ma （fission-track dating） were obtained, which allow reevaluation of a previously reported late Maastrichian age for the tuff layer that was in conflict with the paleontological evidence. These results confirm the Danian age of the section in agreement with the paleontological evidence.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the most common cancers,and is also the leading cause of death *** have shown that cellular reprogramming contributes to chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy resistance and the recurrence of *** this article,we summarize and discuss the latest findings in the area of cellular reprogramming in *** aberrant expression of transcription factors OCT4,KLF4,SOX2,c-MYC,NANOG,and LIN28 have been also observed,and the expression of these transcription factors is associated with unfavorable clinical outcomes in *** indicate that cellular reprogramming may play a critical role in the occurrence and recurrence of *** reports have shown that DNA methylation,miRNAs,tumor microenvironment,and signaling pathways can induce the expression of stemness transcription factors,which leads to cellular reprogramming in ***,studies indicate that therapies based on cellular reprogramming could revolutionize HCC ***,a novel therapeutic concept is discussed:reprogramming control therapy.A potential reprogramming control therapy method could be developed based on the reprogramming demonstrated in HCC studies and applied at two opposing levels:differentiation and *** increasing understanding and control of cellular programming should facilitate the exploitation of this novel therapeutic concept and its application in clinical HCC treatment,which may represent a promising strategy in the future that is not restricted to liver cancer.

A new ruthenium（II） complex with two different types oftridentate ligands was synthesized, 2,2′：6′,2″-terpyridine （tpy） and 2,6-Bis（（N-benzyl）aminomethyl）pyridine （bbap）： [Ru（tpy）（bbap）]2＋（1）. This compound was designed to form intramolecular π-π stacking interaction between tpy and substituted benzyl groups of bbap. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that 1 crystallized with orthorhombic space group Aea2 and the ruthenium center has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry with fully chelated tpy and bbap ligands. Simultaneously, in the crystal structure of 1, the central part of ligating tpy was stacked and sandwiched with a pair of capped benzyl substituent groups of bbap, the nearest atomic distance being N...C = 3.28 A.

Liver transplantation(LT)is a considerably effective treatment for patients with end-stage hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related liver ***,HBV infection often recurs after LT without *** the1990s,the treatment for preventing HBV reinfection after LT has greatly progressed with the introduction of hepatitis B immunoglobulin(HBIG)and nucleos(t)ide analogues(NAs),resulting in improved patient *** combination therapy consisting of high-dose HBIG and lamivudine is highly efficacious for preventing the recurrence of HBV infection after LT and became the standard prophylaxis for HBV ***,mainly due to the high cost of HBIG treatment,an alternative protocol for reducing the dose and duration of HBIG has been ***,combination therapy using low-dose HBIG and NAs is considered as the most efficacious and cost-effective prophylaxis for post-LT HBV ***,NA monotherapy and withdrawal of HBIG from combination therapy,along with the development of new,potent high genetic barrier NAs,have provided promising efficacy,especially for low-risk *** review summarizes the prophylactic protocol and their efficacy including prophylaxis of de novo HBV infection from anti-HBc antibody-positive *** addition,challenging approaches such as discontinuation of all prophylaxis and active immunity through hepatitis B vaccination are discussed.

Expression of the Japanese oak silkworm Antheraea yamamai fibroin gene in the domesticated silkworm Bombyx mori

To understand the evolutionary conservation ofthe gene expression mechanism and secretion machinery between Antheraea and Bombyx fibroins, we introduced the genomic A. yamamai fibroin gene into the domesticated silkworm, B. mori. The spliced A. yamamai fibroin mRNA appeared only in the posterior region of the silk gland of the transgenic silkworm, suggesting that the functions of the fibroin promoter region and the splicing machinery are conserved between these two species. The A. yamarnai fibroin protein was detected in the lumen of the silk gland of the transgenic silkworm, albeit at lower levels compared with the B. mori-type fibroin. We found a strong degeneration of the posterior region of the silk gland of the transgenic silkworm. As a result, the cocoon shell weight was much lower in the transgenic silkworm than in the non-transgenic line. These results indicate that the promoter function and splicing machinery are well conserved between A. yamamai and B. mori but that the secretion mechanism of fibroin is diversified between the two.

Three-Dimensional Rainbow Schlieren Measurements in Underexpanded Sonic Jets from Axisymmetric Convergent Nozzles

The rainbow schlieren deflectometry has been combined with the computed tomography to obtain three-dimensional density fields of shock containing free jets and we call the method the schlieren CT. Experiments on the schlieren CT have been performed at a nozzle pressure ratio of 4.0 by using an axisymmetric convergent nozzle with an inner diameter of 10 mm at the exit where the nozzle was operated at an underexpanded condition. Multidirectional rainbow schlieren pictures of an underexpanded sonic jet can be acquired by rotating the nozzle about its longitudinal axis in equal angular intervals and the three-dimensional density fields are reconstructed by the schlieren CT. The validity of the schlieren CT is verified by a comparison with the density fields reconstructed by the Abel inversion method. As a result, it is found that excellent quantitative agreement is reached between the three-dimensional jet density fields reconstructed from both methods.

During spermiogenesis, the protamine proteins play an integral role in spermatid chromatin compaction. Recent research has focused on many facets of protamine biology, including protamine gene and protein structure/ function relationships, mechanisms of protamine expression regulation and involvement of the protamines in male fertility. In this paper, we review our current understanding of the structure and function of the protamine-1 (P1) and protamine-2 (P2) proteins and genes, the expression and regulation of these genes and the relationship between the protamines and male fertility. In addition, we offer a brief outlook on future investigation into protamine proteins.

In this study,we developed a metal multilayer that can provide hermetic sealing after degassing the assemblies and absorbing the residual gases in the package.A package without a leak path was obtained by the direct bonding of the Au/Pt/Ti *** packaging,annealing at 450°C caused thermal diffusion of the Ti underlayer atoms to the inner surface,which led to absorption of the residual gas *** results indicated that a wafer coated with a Au/Pt/Ti layer can provide hermetic sealing and absorb residual gases,which can simplify vacuum packaging processes in the electronics industry.

Objectives To evaluate primary care access for COVID-19 consultation among residents who have a usual source of care(USC)and to examine their associations with patient experience during the pandemic in *** Nationwide cross-sectional *** Japanese general adult *** 1004 adult residents who have a *** outcome measures Patient experience assessed by the Japanese version of Primary Care Assessment Tool Short Form(JPCAT-SF).Results A total of 198(19.7%)reported restricted primary care access for COVID-19 consultation despite having a *** adjustment for possible confounders,restricted primary care access for COVID-19 consultation was negatively associated with the JPCAT-SF total score(adjusted mean difference=−8.61,95%CI−11.11 to−6.10).In addition,restricted primary care access was significantly associated with a decrease in all JPCAT-SF domain *** Approximately one-fifth of adult residents who had a USC reported restricted primary care access for COVID-19 consultation during the pandemic in *** study also found that restricted primary care access for COVID-19 consultation was negatively associated with a wide range of patient experience including first ***,financial and educational support to primary care facilities,the spread of telemedicine and the application of a patient registration system might be necessary to improve access to primary care during a pandemic.
