Thin films produced by electrostatic spray deposition （ESD） have nanometer-sized structures despite the initial sprayed droplets being typically a few tens of microns in diameter. The size and morphology of the resulting structures is not only affected by the solvent properties and drying kinetics, hut also by Coulomb fission owing to the high surface charge density that the droplets build up upon evaporation. In this work we modulate the charge density of the droplets by inducing ionic wind along the spray, and produce mesoscopic structures. Using WO3 as an example, we show that the technique provides a practical way to control the morphology of thin films produced by ESD.

A comprehensive kinetic model for oxidative coupling of methane（OCm）over mn and/or W promoted Na2SO4/SiO2 catalysts was developed based on a micro-catalytic reactor *** methane conversion and ethylene,ethane,carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide selectivities were obtained in a wide operating condition range of 750 - 825-C,CH4/O2=2.5 - 10 and contact time=267 - 472 kg s *** networks of six models with different rate equation types were compared *** kinetic rate parameters of each reaction network were estimated using linear regression or genetic algorithm optimization method（GA）.A reaction network suggested by Stansch et *** OCm was found to be the best one and was further used in this *** suggested model could predict the experimental results of OCm reaction within a deviation range of ± 20%.

Series of mixed metal oxides were synthesized by gel-combustion method and their catalytic activities for soot oxidation were investigated. The catalysts were m-Ce-Zr （m = mn, Cu, Fe, K, Ba, Sr）, and χK-20mn-Ce-Zr （χ= 0, 5, 10, 20）, they were characterized by XRD, SEm, TPR and BET surface area techniques. The results of soot temperature programmed oxidation （TPO） in an O2 oxidizing atmosphere indicate that K-Ce-Zr has the highest catalytic activity for soot oxidation under loose contact condition, due to enhancement of the soot and catalyst contacts. On the other hand, under a tight contact condition, mn-Ce-Zr and Cu-Ce-Zr nano-composites have high activities for soot oxidation and lower the soot TPO peak temperatures by about 280 and 270℃, respectively, as compared to non-catalytic soot oxidation. Furthermore, the addition of up to 10 wt.% potassium oxides into mn-Ce-Zr increases its catalytic activity and further reduces the soot TPO peak temperature by about 40℃ under loose contact condition.

Green Building rating systems are the main vehicles for commercial application of ecologically sustainable design for *** less materials,modular design for deconstruction,long life structure,using recoverable materials are emerging concepts to reduce environmental impacts and increase the resource and economic efficiency of *** has been argued that because of recent emergence of these concepts,Green Building rating systems do not fairly recognise the environmental benefits *** paper quantifies the impacts of the building reuse concept on the environment and the Green Building rating system scores and compares this with the energy *** was found that lifecycle embodied greenhouse gas emission of approximately 20 kg CO_(2)-e/m^(2)/annum could be saved,if 80%of the office building components(structure,façade,wall,floor and roof)were reused in Australia.A second finding was that the current BREEAm 2008 and LEED 2009 tools do not provide fair recognition of the potential lifecycle embodied greenhouse gas emission reduction of building reuse compared to operational greenhouse gas emission reduction.

As is well known to mineral processing scientists and engineers, fine and ultrafine particles are difficult to float mainly due to the low bubble-particle collision efficiencies. Though many efforts have been made to improve flotation performance of fine and ultrafine particles, there is still much more to be done. In this paper, the effects of nano-microbubbles （nanobuhbles and microbubbles） on the flotation of fine （-38 ＋ 14.36 μm） and ultrafine （-14.36 ＋ 5μm） chalcopyrite particles were investigated in a laboratory scale Denver flotation cell. Nano-microbubbles were generated using a specially-designed nano- microbubble generator based on the cavitation phenomenon in Venturi tubes. In order to better under- stand the mechanisms of nano-microbubble enhanced froth flotation of fine and ultrafine chalcopyrite particles, the nano-microbubble size distribution, stability and the effect of frother concentration on nano- bubble size were also studied by a laser diffraction method. Comparative flotation tests were performed in the presence and absence of nano-microbubbles to evaluate their impact on the fine and ultrafine chalcopyrite particle flotation recovery. According to the results, the mean size of nano-microbubbles increased over time, and decreased with increase of frother concentration. The laboratory-scale flotation test results indicated that flotation recovery of chalcopyrite fine and ultrafine particles increased by approximately 16-21% in the presence of nano-microbubbles, depending on operating conditions of the process. The presence of nano-microbubbles increased the recovery of ultrafine particles （-14.36 ＋ 5 μm） more than that of fine particles （-38 ＋ 14.36 μm）. Another major advantage is that the use of nano-microbubbles reduced the collector and frother consumptions by up to 75% and 50%, respectively.

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded,questions arose as to whether the pandemic would amplify or pacify tropical *** reports warned of increased deforestation rates;however,these studies were limited to a few months in 2020 or to selected *** better understand how the pandemic infl uenced tropical deforestation globally,this study used historical deforestation data(2004–2019)from the Terra-i pantropical land cover change monitoring system to project expected deforestation trends for 2020,which were used to determine whether observed deforestation deviated from expected trajectories after the fi rst COVID-19 cases were *** series analyses were conducted at the regional level for the Americas,Africa and Asia and at the country level for Brazil,Colombia,Peru,the Democratic Republic of Congo and *** results suggest that the pandemic did not alter the course of deforestation trends in some countries(e.g.,Brazil,Indonesia),while it did in others(e.g.,Peru).We posit the importance of monitoring the long-term eff ects of the pandemic on deforestation trends as countries prioritize economic recovery in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Dill tablet: a potential antioxidant and anti-diabetic medicine

Objective:To evaluate the antiglycation and antioxidant properties of the dill tablet, an herbal product used in Iran as a hypolipidemic medicine. methods: In this descriptive study, the antioxidant and antiradical properties of dill tablet at dif erent concentration(0.032, 0.065, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg/m L) were measured. The total phenolic, l avonols and l avonoid, alkaloids, anthocyanin, tannin and saponin contents in dill tablet were determined. Furthermore, antiglycation properties of dill tablet were assayed. In the in vivo experiments, male rats were randomly divided into three groups(n = 6): Group 1: normal rats; Group 2: diabetic rats; Group 3: diabetic rats + 300 mg/kg dill tablet, and Group 4: diabetic rats + 100 mg/kg dill tablet. After 2 months, the blood glucose was measured enzymatically and advanced glycation end-products(AGEs) formation was determined using a l uorometric ***: Our results illustrated that different concentrations of dill tablet had significant antioxidant activity. Dill tablet markedly declined AGEs formation and fructosamine levels(P mpared with glycated sample. Oxidation of protein carbonyl and thiol group was signii cantly reduced by dill tablet in a dose dependent manner(P mation of amyloid cross-β and fragmentation were markedly inhibited by dill tablet(P mpared with glycated sample. After 2 months, fasting blood glucose levels(P mation(P mals. Conclusions: Dill tablet exhibited significant antiglycation and antioxidant activities. Discrepancies between clinical and autopsy findings in patients who had an acute stroke

Objectives According to international observations,the incidence of clinical autopsies is declining worldwide,plummeting below 5%in the USA and many European *** is an unfavourable trend as,in 7%-12%of cases,recent clinicopathological studies found discrepancies that might have changed the therapy or the outcome if known *** previous large-scale observations have examined varied patient populations,we aimed to focus on the differences between the clinical and pathological diagnostic findings in only patients who had a *** and methods We assessed the postmortem non-neuropathological and neuropathological findings of 534 consecutive patients who had a stroke who passed *** neoplasms,pneumonias,thromboembolisms and haemorrhagic transformations revealed only by autopsy were considered severe abnormalities;in addition,benign abnormalities important from an educational or scientific point of view were also *** In 26 of the 534 cases(4.9%),the presence of systemic neoplasms had already been confirmed in the clinical stage;however,8(1.5%)malignant tumours were only detected during ***,80(15%)thromboembolic events,73(13.6%)pneumonias and 66(18%)haemorrhagic transformations were only diagnosed at *** hospital stay(from admission to death)resulted in fewer discrepancies between clinical and autopsy diagnosis of thromboembolic events and pneumonias(pmaging techniques,postmortem autopsies are also important in patients who had a stroke as autopsies may reveal clinically silent diseases(eg,tumour),and contribute to knowing the actual incidence of stroke-related thromboembolic and pneumonia complications.
