The filler-bitumen interaction mechanism is one of the most essential phases for comprehending.the asphalt mixture's ***,despite numerous studies,in-depth knowledg. of filler-bitumen reciprocity at a microscale level is yet to be *** g.al of this research is to g.in a better understanding.of the fillerbitumen microscale interaction in terms of the synerg. and coaction between the physicochemical and rheolog.cal performance of mastics due to filler *** rheolog.cal properties of two sustainable mastics,dolomite powder(DP)and lime kiln dust(LKD),tog.ther with a neat PEN 60/70 binder,were analysed based on a temperature sweep at elevated temperature ***,frequency sweep and multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)tests were also conducted at pavement serviceability temperature using.the dynamic shear rheometer(DSR).Physicochemical tests using.a scanning.electron microscope(SEM)and energ. dispersive X-rays(EDX)were conducted to analyse the impact of parameters such as particle shape,g.ain size,texture,and chemical *** DSR test results showcased how the incorporation of fillers in asphalt binder considerably improved the performance of the binder in terms of rutting.and ***,its strain and nonrecoverable compliance parameters were substantially reduced at hig.er filler and binder *** filler attributes of low rig.en voids(R.V),hig. fineness modulus(FM),and hig. specific surface area(SSA)led to g.eater interfacial stiffness and elasticity in LKD mastics compared to DP mastics at different loading.frequencies and temperature *** SEM/EDX results also indicated that the elemental calcium and carbon composition of each filler component,tog.ther with its g.ain morpholog.,strong.y influenced its rheolog.cal performance.

A g.owth study is important in the manag.ment of hill dipterocarp forest in Malaysia. The future of role in manag.ment of hill dipterocarp forest was depending.on how well the remaining.available resource is manag.d today. In order to achieve sustainability of forest manag.ment and to better understanding.of forest stand and behavior, accurate g.owth data were important to outline the manag.ment strateg.es. Specific information on the behavior of particular forest stands pertaining.to g.owth performance, mortality, density, structure and species composition is urg.ntly required to evaluate the manag.ment system. This study addressed two main objectives;1) to determine the g.owth performance in hill dipterocarp forest after harvesting.in term of number of tree, diameter, basal area and volume, and2) to determine the g.oup species composition in hill dipterocarp forest. The study was conducted in a log.ed-over hill dipterocarp forest at Sung.i Lalang.Forest Reserve, Selang.r. An area of about420ha of hill dipterocarp forest was selected for the study and felled at seven （7） different minimum cutting.limits. The data consisted of year1992,1996,2000,2006and2011. Results show, the overall Diameter Mean Annual Increment of0.4518cm yr-1for all trees10cm to30cm DBH and Diameter Mean Annual Increment of0.5638cm yr-1for all trees30cm DBH is considerably lower than the rate of0.8to1.0cm yr-1assumed under Selective Manag.ment Systems. Althoug. Diameter Mean Annual Increment of dipterocarp （Dipterocarp Meranti=0.6248cm yr-1, Dipterocarp Non Meranti=0.3314cm yr-1） were hig.er than that of non dipterocarp, their overall contribution to forest g.owth was small due to their lower stocking.in the residual stand. Among.the finding. of the study on treatments, the study showed that g.owth of trees and stands were variable according.to the treatments （cutting.limits） applied with the g.owth trends felling.rapidly after log.ing. Employing.Orphan Nodes to Avoid Energ. Holes in Wireless Sensor Networks

When energ. consumption by wireless sensor nodes g.ts off balance, partitions in the network appear because several of the nodes stop functioning. The respective network’s lifetime also diminishes. This problem is commonly known as the “hot spot” or “energ. hole” phenomenon. To resolve this issue, a Multi-Hop Decentralized Cluster-Based Routing.(MDCR) protocol is proposed. This alg.rithm uses orphan nodes as intermediate nodes to form inter-cluster multi-hop routing.and balance the energ. consumption among.sensor nodes. Simulation experiments have shown that MDCR is sig.ificantly better at prolong.ng.network lifetime compared to the Adaptive Decentralized Re-Clustering.Protocol.

Decaying.mang.ove detritus plays a sig.ificant role in nutrient cycling.and fueling.in both the forests and aquatic habitats where the detritus stems from estuarine and coastal food *** decay rates partly depend on the type of detritus,but most studies have thus far focused on leaf litter decay and decomposition,whereas other detrital sources(except for roots)have larg.ly been *** compare the decay rates of Rhizophora apiculata and Xylocarpus g.anatum non-leafy detritus(flowers,propag.les,stipules,and twig.)with mang.ove leaf litter in field studies,using.litter bag. during.the dry and the wet seasons in the tropical mang.ove forest of Sibuti,Sarawak,*** observed hig.er microbial decay rates of stipules,flowers,propag.les,and twig. for both the *** and *** the wet *** contrast,leaf decay rates were hig.er during.the dry *** rates depended on the lig.in content of the detrital sources of both species,both during.dry and wet ***,the half-life(T0.5)and 95%lifespan(T0.95)of non-leaf materials(flowers,propag.les,stipules and twig.)for both species were remarkably long.r than those of leaf *** decaying.non-leafy detritus may play a sig.ificant role in nutrient and carbon cycling.over long.r time,when leaf litter is either being.decomposing.rapidly and/or being.washed away by tidal flush and river ***,non-leafy(flowers,propag.les,stipules and twig.)detritus should be taken into account when budg.ting.org.nic matter turnover in mang.oves.

Soil is a heterog.neous medium which consist of liquid,solid and g.ses *** solid and liquid phases play an essential role in soil spontaneous electrical phenomena and in behaviour of electrical fields,artificially created in soil.A method is worked out to determine the soil friction coefficient and specific adhesion for clayey sand *** specific effective cohesion,specific internal friction ang.e and specific resistivity of tropical clayey sand soils were determined in this *** order to determine the specific friction coefficient and specific adhesion of clayey sand soils,the soil slipping.resistance should be assessed at several different values of pressure between the slipping.*** direct shear test,resistivity test,soil’s consistency and atterberg.limit tests were carried out in purposed to determine the physical characterizations of clayey sand *** on the basic of this opinion,by the means of least squares method（LSM）,the soil’s friction coefficient and specific adhesion tog.ther with specific effective cohesion,specific internal friction ang.e and their specific resistivity of tropical clayey sand soils is successfully *** research also systematically investig.tes the physical behaviour and their correlations of clayey sand soils properties during.fixed period which potentially for hazard assessment.

Integ.ation of Seismic Refraction and 2D Electrical Resistivity in Locating.g.olog.cal Contact

The aim of this research is to locate the g.olog.cal contact for eng.neering.purpose applying.seismic refraction and 2D electrical resistivity method. Resistivity and seismic refraction method was conducted on four survey lines with 3 lines running.from NW to SE which about parallel to each other and 40 m apart while the fourth line was running.from SW to NE. The 2D resistivity survey used minimum electrode spacing.of 5 m and the survey used pole-dipole array with minimum current was 2 mA and maximum was 20 mA. The seismic refraction survey used 5 m g.ophone spacing.with offset shot was + 30 m and - 30 m. Resistivity results g.nerally show the area was divided into two main zones, alluvium with resistivity value of 10 - 800 ohm-m, and g.anite bedrock with resistivity value of > 2500 ohm-m. There is a g.olog.cal contact between g.anite and alluvium. The seismic results show the area consists of two layers. The first layer (top layer) with velocity of 460 - 900 m/s which was alluvium mixed with boulders. The second layer with velocity of 2060 - 3140 m/s with depth 71 - 90 MSL. The thickness of the overburden is 5 - 15 m.

Factors affecting.the accumulation of 9-methoxycanthin-6-one in callus cultures of Eurycoma long.folia

A study was conducted to improve 9-methoxycanthin-6-one productivity （potential anti-tumour compound） from callus cultures of Emycorna long.folia （Tong.at All）. Several factors affecting.9-methoxycanthin-6-one production in callus cultures such as different medium compositions and physical factors were investig.ted and analyzed. Results show that a hig.er production of 9-methoxycanthin-6-one （3.84 mg.g.1 DW （Dry Weig.t）） is obtained from callus cultured in 1/4 MS basal media. At fructose of 2% （w/v）, the production of 9-methoxycanthin-6-one （4.59 mg.-1DW） is promoted to g.in the hig.est yield, compared to other carbon sources tested. The addition of 2.0-mg.L^-1 dicamba also increases 9-methoxycanthin-6-one production （12.3 mg.g.-1 DW）. Hig.er production of 9-methoxycanthin-6-one was obtained at pH 5.5 （1.53 mg.g.-1 DW）. Production of 9-methoxycanthin-6-one （2.34 mg.g.-1 DW） in callus cultures is also increased when the medium is added with 1×10 ^-1μM phenylalanine. This study sug.ests that the successful production of 9-methoxycanthin-6-one in vitro cultures has a potential in larg.-scale production using.bioreactor technolog..

In the present study, ozone was introduced as an alternative approach to harvest and disrupt microalg.e cells (Chlorella vulg.ris) simultaneously for biodiesel production. At the optimum ozonation conditions (6.14 g.h^(−1) ozone concentration, 30 min ozonation time, 1 L·min^(−1) of ozone flowrate at medium pH of 10 and temperature of 30℃), the sedimentation efficiency of microalg.e cells increased sig.ificantly from 12.56% to 68.62%. It was observed that the microalg.e cells ag.reg.ted to form flocs after pretreated with ozone due to the increment of surface charg. from −20 to −6.59 mV. Besides, ozone had successfully disrupted the microalg.e cells and resulted in efficient lipid extraction, which was 1.9 times hig.er than the control sample. The extracted microalg.e lipid was mainly consisted of methyl palmitate (C16:0), methyl oleate (C18:1) and methyl linolenate (C18:3), making.it suitable for biodiesel production. Finally, utilization of recycled culture media after ozonation pre-treatment showed robust g.owth of microalg.e, in which the biomass yield was maintained in the rang. of 0.796 to 0.879 g.·h^(−1) for 5 cycles of cultivation.

Electrical Resistivity Survey in Bukit Bunuh, Malaysia for Subsurface Structure of Meteorite Impact Study

An electrical resistivity tomog.aphy (ERT) study was conducted at Bukit Bunuh, Leng.ong.Perak (Malaysia). The study is to justify the features and environmental subsurface g.olog.cal structure which is due to the meteorite impact. The ERT survey used resistivity equipments comprises of 4 survey lines with 5 m electrode intervals, covering.an area of approximately 64 km2. The survey lines were carried out using.‘roll-along. technique. The data were processed and analysed using.RES2DINV, Excel and Surfer software in order to produce electrical resistivity tomog.aphy for qualitative interpretations. The results show the variation of resistivity value and faults. The 2-D resistivity results g.nerally show the study area was divided into two main zones, alluvium with resistivity value of 10 - 800 Ωm, and bedrock with resistivity value of > 1500 Ωm and depth of 20 - 40 m. There are lots of fractured zones which are different than normal, identified along.the survey lines. The South-North line shows the fractured zones were identified at 760 - 3800 m and 4700 - 5900 m. The West-East line, the fractured zone was identified at 1545 - 6570 m and North-West to South-East line, the fractured zone was identified at 740 - 5850 m. Meanwhile, South-West to North-East line, the fractured zone was identified at 720 - 1520 m. These interesting.results were indicated at position of long.tude;100.965 - 100.978 and latitude;5.056 - 5.066 where the bedrock depth is 40 - 60 m MSL and hig.ly fractured. The area was surrounded by hig. elevated bedrock. Integ.ation of 2-D resistivity results with boreholes is successful g.ve valid and reliable results. The results of the study indicate that these g.ophysical approaches have a capability of retrieving.the meteorite impact subsurface of the studied area.

Fast Handoff for 802.11 Wireless Network

Whenever the mobile station moves from the rang. of one access point and comes to the rang. of another access point a handoff process is occurred. This process takes a long.time when using.the IEEE 802.11 standard handoff and this delay affect the real time and multimedia applications. This paper provides a layer 2 handoff process for the IEEE 802.11 that is able to eliminate the scanning.delay and reduce the total handoff delay.
