Epigenetic therapeutics in dental pulp treatment: Hopes, challenges and concerns for the development of next-generation biomaterials

This opinion-led review paper highlights the need for novel translational research in vital-pulp-treatment(VPT),but also discusses the challenges in translating evidence to *** dentistry is expensive,invasive and relies on an outmoded mechanical understanding of dental disease,rather than employing a biological perspective that harnesses cell activity and the *** research has focussed on developing minimally-invasive biologically-based‘fillings’that preserve the dental pulp;research that is shifting the paradigm from expensive high-technology dentistry,with high failure rates,to smart restorations targeted at biological *** VPTs promote repair by recruiting odontoblast-like cells in a material-dependent ***,exciting opportunities exist for development of next-generation biomaterials targeted at regenerative processes in the dentin-pulp *** article analyses recent research using pharmacological-inhibitors to therapeutically-target histone-deacetylase(HDAC)enzymes in dental-pulp-cells(DPCs)that stimulate pro-regenerative effects with limited loss of ***,HDAC-inhibitors have the potential to enhance biomaterial-driven tissue responses at low concentration by influencing the cellular processes with minimal side-effects,providing an opportunity to develop a topically-placed,inexpensive bio-inductive pulp-capping *** positive results,clinical translation of these innovations requires enterprise to counteract regulatory obstacles,dental-industry priorities and to develop strong academic/industry *** aim of this opinion-led review paper is to discuss the potential role of therapeutically-targeting epigenetic modifications as part of a topical VPT strategy in the treatment of the damaged dental pulp,while considering the next steps,material considerations,challenges and future for the clinical development of epigenetic therapeutics or other‘smart’restora

Recognition of Human Actions through Speech or Voice Using Machine Learning Techniques

The development of artificial intelligence(AI)and smart home technologies has driven the need for speech recognition-based *** demand stems from the quest for more intuitive and natural interaction between users and smart devices in their *** recognition allows users to control devices and perform everyday actions through spoken commands,eliminating the need for physical interfaces or touch screens and enabling specific tasks such as turning on or off the light,heating,or lowering the *** purpose of this study is to develop a speech-based classification model for recognizing human actions in the smart *** seeks to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of using machine learning techniques in predicting categories,subcategories,and actions from sentences.A dataset labeled with relevant information about categories,subcategories,and actions related to human actions in the smart home is *** methodology uses machine learning techniques implemented in Python,extracting features using CountVectorizer to convert sentences into numerical *** results show that the classification model is able to accurately predict categories,subcategories,and actions based on sentences,with 82.99%accuracy for category,76.19%accuracy for subcategory,and 90.28%accuracy for *** study concludes that using machine learning techniques is effective for recognizing and classifying human actions in the smart home,supporting its feasibility in various scenarios and opening new possibilities for advanced natural language processing systems in the field of AI and smart homes.

Significance of fostering the mental health of patients with diabetes through critical time intervention

BACKGROUND Critical time intervention(CTI)is an evidence-based model of practice that is time-limited and aims to provide support for most susceptible individuals during a transition *** To examine the significance of fostering the mental health of diabetes patients through CTI using the scoping review *** As part of the scoping review process,we followed the guidelines established by the Joanna Briggs *** search databases were Google Scholar,PubMed,Scopus,PsycINFO,Reference Citation Analysis(https://***/),and Cochrane *** these databases,77 articles were retrieved with the aid of carefully selected search ***,19 studies were selected after two reviewers appraised the full texts to ensure that they are all eligible for inclusion,while 54 papers were *** This study revealed that diabetic patients who had experienced homelessness were at higher risk of being diagnosed with mental illness and that social support services are impactful in the management of the comorbidity of diabetes and mental health *** addition,this review reveals that CTI is impactful in enhancing the mental health of homeless patients during the transitional period from the hospital through social support *** CTI is a promising intervention for alleviating mental health symptoms in homeless *** studies are needed across the globe,involving both hospitalized and community-based patients,to determine how clinically effectively CTI is in managing the mental health of diabetics.

The prediction of molecular properties is a crucial task in the field of drug *** methods that can accurately predict molecular properties can significantly accelerate the drug discovery process and reduce the cost of drug *** recent years,iterative updates in computing hardware and the rise of deep learning have created a new and effective path for molecular property *** learning methods can leverage the vast amount of data accumulated over the years in drug discovery and do not require complex feature *** this review,we summarize molecular representations and commonly used datasets in molecular property prediction models and present advanced deep learning methods for molecular property prediction,including state-of-the-art deep learning networks such as graph neural networks and Transformer-based models,as well as state-of-the-art deep learning strategies such as 3D pre-train,contrastive learning,multi-task learning,transfer learning,and *** also point out some critical issues such as lack of datasets,low information utilization,and lack of specificity for diseases.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a highly infectious disease which emerged into a global *** it primarily causes respiratory symptoms for affected patients,COVID-19 was shown to have multi-organ *** liver enzymes appear to be commonly observed during the course of COVID-19,and there have been numerous reports of liver injury secondary to COVID-19 *** has been established that patients with pre-existing chronic liver disease(CLD)are more likely to have poorer outcomes following COVID-19 infection compared to those without ***-morbidities such as diabetes,hypertension,obesity,cardiovascular and chronic kidney disease frequently co-exist in individuals living with CLD,and a substantial population may also live with some degree of *** mechanisms of how COVID-19 induces liver injury have been *** syndrome(HRS)is the occurrence of kidney dysfunction in patients with severe CLD/fulminant liver failure in the absence of another identifiable cause,and is usually a marker of severe decompensated liver *** reports of HRS following acute COVID-19 infection have been presented,although the risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms leading to HRS in COVID-19 infection or following COVID-19 treatment remain largely unestablished due to the relative lack and novelty of published *** discussing the management of HRS in highdependency care and intensive care contexts is only *** this article,we provide an overview on the speculative pathophysiological me-chanisms of COVID-19 induced HRS and propose strategies for clinical diagnosis and management to optimize outcomes in this scenario.
