Towards bottlenecks demonstrated by typical Fenton-like catalysts in advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)for wastewater treatment,novel hierarchical porousMn^(2+)Mn_(6)^(3+)SiO_(12)(Mn_(7)SiO_(12),MSO-12)microspheres(specific surface area:434.90 m^(2)·g^(-1),pore volume:0.78 cm^(3)·g^(-1))were rationally designed and achieved via a simple one-pot hydrothermal method(150℃ and 12.0 h)without any pre-prepared templates or organic solvents,by using abundant MnCl_(2)·4H_(2)O and Na_(2)SiO_(3)·9H_(2)O as the basic raw materials.The MSO-12 microspheres are confirmed as high-efficiency Fenton-like catalysts for degradation of organic dyes(methylene blue(MeB),Rhodamine B(RhB),and methyl blue(MB))in the presence of H_(2)O_(2),with impressively high specific consumption amount of MeB(R=12.35 mg·g^(-1)·min^(-1))and extremely low leaching of Mn(Mnloss%=0.27%).Simultaneously,the synergetic effect of adsorption and degradation on the superior removal of MeB is uncovered.The excellent recycling performances,especially the satisfactory removal of MeB from the actual water bodies(e.g.,tap water and river water),as well as potential applications for degradation of RhB and MB enable the MSO-12 microspheres as a novel promising competitive candidate Fenton-like catalyst.

Unraveling the catalytic reaction mechanism is a long-term challenge for developing efficient catalysts.The blooming bimetallic catalyst have enabled to activate inert bonds and realize complex C-C formation.Herein,we theoretically discover a dual-phosphinito bridged hetero-bimetallic species that verified by NMR experiments.Our results indicate only dual-phosphinito Ni-Al model can be an active catalyst in asymmetric cycloadditions via C-C activation and C-H activation,which can well rationalize the experimental observations for both reactivity and stereo-selectivity.An unprecedented tandem redox dehydrogenation mechanism was revealed to control the formation of this active species overriding the inherent basicity.Synergistic Lewis acid and eg orbital interactions,including dz2 orbital reoccupation and d_(x^(2)−y^(2))orbital recombination,were disclosed to understand both thermodynamic and kinetic advance of dual-bridged model,displaying feasible redox properties.

Onlineγ-spectrometry systems for inland waters,most of which extract samples in situ and in real time,are able to produce reliable activity concentration measurements for waterborne radionuclides only when they are distributed relatively uniformly and enter into a steady-state diffusion regime in the measurement chamber.To protect residents’health and ensure the safety of the living environment,better timeliness is required for this measurement method.To address this issue,this study established a mathematical model of the online waterγ-spectrometry system so that rapid warning and activity estimates can be obtained for water under non-steady-state(NSS)conditions.In addition,the detection efficiency of the detector for radionuclides during the NSS diffusion process was determined by applying the computational fluid dynamics technique in conjunction with Monte Carlo simulations.On this basis,a method was developed that allowed the online waterγ-spectrometry system to provide rapid warning and activity concentration estimates for radionuclides in water.Subsequent analysis of the NSS-mode measurements of^(40)K radioactive solutions with different activity concentrations determined the optimum warning threshold and measurement time for producing accurate activity concentration estimates for radionuclides.The experimental results show that the proposed NSS measurement method is able to give warning and yield accurate activity concentration estimates for radionuclides 55.42 and 69.42 min after the entry of a 10 Bq/L^(40)K radioactive solution into the measurement chamber,respectively.These times are much shorter than the 90 min required by the conventional measurement method.Furthermore,the NSS measurement method allows the measurement system to give rapid(within approximately 15 min)warning when the activity concentrations of some radionuclides reach their respective limits stipulated in the Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality of the WHO,suggesting that this method considerably enhances the warning capacity of in si

Rational design of extractant structure to improve the extraction and separation capacity of rare earth elements(REEs)is a long-standing challenge.Herein,a new strategy was proposed to improve the stability of the chelating structure formed by malonamide and REEs.The stability of the chelating structure is greatly improved by using a double-ring framework structure which makes the two carbonyl groups of malonamide unable to rotate freely and both of them point to the metal ion position.Three benzyl groups were used to construct the hydrophobicity of the extractant and the organic shell of the extracted species.Tribenzylhexahydro-pyrrolo-pyridine-dione(THPPD)was designed and synthesized.The structure reduces the energy consumed by rotating carbonyl group in the coordination with metal ions and then improves the extraction ability of extractant.The crystal structure was preorganized as expected,with the two carbonyls pointing in a favorable coordination direction to the structural complement of the metal ion.The extraction behaviors of REEs with THPPD in a nitric acid medium were studied.Compared with N,N’-dibenzyl-N,N’-dimethylmalonamide(DBDM-MA)with a chain structure,the extraction capacity of THPPD is 360 times higher than that of DBDM-MA at 5.0 mol/L sodium nitrate.Furthermore,the binding energy and Gibbs free energy were investigated by density functional theory(DFT)in conjunction with the B3LYP.The theoretical results show that THPPD has more effective interaction with Pr(NO_(3))3 than DBDM-MA.The construction of chelating groups conformation is a worthy direction to improve the coordination ability and even selectivity of extractant.

In the time of Internet of Things(IoT),alternating current electroluminescence(ACEL)has unique advantages in the fields of smart display and human–computer interaction.However,their reliance on external high-voltage AC power supplies poses challenges in terms of wearability and limits their practical application.This paper proposed an innovative scheme for preparing a feather triboelectric nanogenerator(F-TENG)using recyclable and environmentally friendly material.The highest open-circuit voltage,short-circuit current,and transferred charge of SF6-treated F-TENGs can reach 449 V,63μA,and 152 nC,which enables easy lighting of BaTiO_(3)^(-)doped ACEL devices.Using a human electrical potential,a single-electrode F-TENG is combined with ACEL device for self-powered fingerprint recognition display.These works achieve self-powered flexible wearable ACEL devices,which are not only efficient and portable but also have good application prospects in the human–computer interaction,functional displays,and wearable electronic devices.

The development of highly efficient non-precious-metal-based electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction is imperative for promoting the large-scale application of electrochemical water splitting.Herein,nitrogen/phosphorus co-doped carbon nanorods encapsulated Mo_(2)C nanoparticles(Mo_(2)C@PNc)have been prepared by pre-phosphating treatment in combination of the coordination with polydopamine and the subsequent pyrolysis.The phosphating temperature has a significant effect on the content of phosphorus within the resultant Mo_(2)C@PNC,and the optimal catalyst delivers superior HER activity with the low overpotential of 104 mV at a current density of 10 mAcm^(-2) and good stability for 8 h,which has been theoretically demonstrated to originate from the synergistic effect between P doping and Mo_(2)C induced electron redistribution of nitrogen-doped carbon layer.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)is a common disease in elderly men,and transurethral laser prostatectomy(TULP)has been widely used in the clinic to remove bladder outlet obstruction caused by BPH.Previous animal models for wound repair after prostatectomy have many limitations,and there have been no previous reports of a mouse model of TULP.Therefore,this study aimed to establish a novel mouse model of TULP.Twelve healthy adult Kunming(KM)mice received transurethral laser vaporization prostatectomy with a 200-μm thulium laser.The mice were sacrificed,and wound specimens from the prostatic urethra and bladder neck were harvested at 1 day,3 days,5 days,and 7 days after surgery.Hematoxylin-eosin(HE)and immunohistochemistry were applied to confirm the establishment of the mouse TULP model.One day after the surgery,urothelium expressing uroplakin(UPK)was absent in the urethral wound site,and a large number of necrotic tissues were found in the wound site.There was no UPK-positive urothelium in the wound 3 days after surgery.At 5 days after surgery,monolayer urothelium expressing UPK was found in the wound site,indicating that the re-epithelization of the wound had been completed.On the 7th day after surgery,there were multiple layers of urothelium with UPK expression,indicating that the repair was completed.It is feasible to establish a mouse TULP model by using a microcystoscope system and a 200-μm thulium laser.

We show that the nonlinear stage of the dual-wavelength pumped modulation instability(MI)in nonlinear Schrödinger equation(NLSE)can be effectively analyzed by mode truncation methods.The resulting complicated heteroclinic structure of instability unveils all possible dynamic trajectories of nonlinear waves.Significantly,the latticed-Fermi-Pasta-Ulam recurrences on the modulated-wave background in NLSE are also investigated and their dynamic trajectories run along the Hamiltonian contours of the heteroclinic structure.It is demonstrated that there has much richer dynamic behavior,in contrast to the nonlinear waves reported before.This novel nonlinear wave promises to inject new vitality into the study of MI.

Let r≥2 be an integer. The real number α∈[0, 1) is a jump for r if there exists a constant c> 0 such that for any ε> 0 and any integer m≥r, there exists an integer n0（ε, m） satisfying any r-uniform graph with n≥n0（ε, m） vertices and density at least α+εcontains a subgraph with m vertices and density at least α+c. A result of Erd?s and Simonovits （1966） and Erd?s and Stone （1946） implies that every α∈[0, 1) is a jump for r=2. Erd?s （1964） asked whether the same is true for r≥3. Frankl and R?dl （1984） gave a negative answer by showing that 1-1/（lr-1） is not a jump for r if r≥3 and l> 2r. After that, more non-jumps are foundlr-1is not a juby using a method of Frankl and R?dl （1984）. Motivated by an idea of Liu and Pikhurko （2023）, in this paper,we show a method to construct maps f:[0, 1)→[0, 1) that preserve non-jumps, i.e., if α is a non-jump for r given by the method of Frankl and R?dl （1984）, then f （α） is also a non-jump for r. We use these maps to study hypergraph Tura′n densities and answer a question posed by Grosu （2016）.

BACKGROUND Synaptotagmins(SYTs)are a family of 17 membrane transporters that function as calcium ion sensors during the release of Ca2+-dependent neurotransmitters and hormones.However,few studies have reported whether members of the SYT family play a role in glucose uptake in diabetic retinopathy(DR)through Ca2+/glucose transporter-1(GLUT1)and the possible regulatory mechanism of SYTs.AIM To elucidate the role of the SYT family in the regulation of glucose transport in retinal pigment epithelial cells and explore its potential as a therapeutic target for the clinical management of DR.METHODS DR was induced by streptozotocin in C57BL/6J mice and by high glucose medium in human retinal pigment epithelial cells(ARPE-19).Bioinformatics analysis,reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction,Western blot,flow cytometry,ELISA,HE staining,and TUNEL staining were used for analysis.RESULTS Six differentially expressed proteins(SYT2,SYT3,SYT4,SYT7,SYT11,and SYT13)were found between the DR and control groups,and SYT4 was highly expressed.Hyperglycemia induces SYT4 overexpression,manipulates Ca2+influx to induce GLUT1 fusion with the plasma membrane,promotes abnormal expression of the glucose transporter GLUT1 and excessive glucose uptake,induces ARPE-19 cell apoptosis,and promotes DR progression.Parkin deficiency inhibits the proteasomal degradation of SYT4 in DR,resulting in SYT4 accumulation and enhanced GLUT1 fusion with the plasma membrane,and these effects were blocked by oe-Parkin treatment.Moreover,dysregulation of the myelin transcription factor 1(Myt1)-induced transcription of SYT4 in DR further activated the SYT4-mediated stimulus-secretion coupling process,and this process was inhibited in the oe-MYT1-treated group.CONCLUSION Our study reveals the key role of SYT4 in regulating glucose transport in retinal pigment epithelial cells during the pathogenesis of DR and the underlying mechanism and suggests potential therapeutic targets for clinical DR.
