Biochemical and Metabolomics on Rice Cultivars

Plant metabolites are important for both plant life and human nutrition. However, the genetic control of plant metabolome remains largely unknown. Here, we performed a genetic analysis of the different rice metabolome and isozymes which are highly versatile and non-destructive as bio-markers. Five isozymes peroxidase, catalase, malate dehydrogenase, alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH), polyphenol oxidase were studied to characterize the thirty rice cultivars and two hybrids KRH-2 and KRH-4 along with their parental lines. Among the zymograms, ADH was found to be useful for the detection of cultivars, like CTH1, IR64, IR30864, with an Rm value of 0.549. The metabolomics of rice cultivars by using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry instrument with selected reaction monitoring mode software identified the 66 metabolites in the rice samples, including amino, organic, fatty acids, alcohols and sugars(mono-/dis-accharides). All metabolites investigated varied significantly among rice samples. Jaya had the higher number of metabolites(15) with a peak for each metabolite, followed by Jyothi(13). This study demonstrated a powerful tool and provided a high-quality data for understanding the plant metabolome and isozymes, which may help bridge the gap between the genome and phenome.

Intestinal loop stoma is a common surgical procedure performed for various benign and malignant abdominal problems,but it rarely undergoes spontaneous closure,without surgical *** male patients presented to our emergency surgical department with acute abdominal *** of them was diagnosed as having rectosigmoid perforation and underwent diversion sigmoid loop colostomy after primary closure of the *** other was a known case of carcinoma of the rectum who had already undergone low anterior resection with covering loop ileostomy;the patient underwent second loop ileostomy,this time for complicated intestinal *** our surprise,both the loop colostomy and ileostomy closed spontaneously at 8 weeks and 6 weeks,respectively,without any *** stoma closure is a rare and interesting *** exact etiology for spontaneous closure remains unknown,but it may be hypothesized to result from slow retraction of the stoma,added to the concept of a tendency towards spontaneous closure of enterocutaneous fistula.

Severe acute pancreatitis often leads to pancreatic and peripancreatic collections but,rarely,it can lead to collections at sites remote from the *** male patients presented with abdominal pain and inguinoscrotal *** were initially misdiagnosed with obstructed inguinal hernia,epididymo-orchitis and hydrocele,***,their diagnosis of acute pancreatitis was revealed on laparotomy in one patient and on computed tomography(CT)in the remaining two *** these cases had extensive peripancreatic necrosis and paracolic collections tracking along the psoas muscle,downwards towards the *** collections were initially managed by percutaneous drainage and saline irrigation as a part of the‘step-up’*** of these patients required open necrosectomy,while all required incision and drainage of inguinoscrotal *** the patients were discharged in satisfactory *** swelling is unusual as a first presentation of acute pancreatitis.A high index of suspicion,with careful study of patient’s history and examination along with CT,may provide an accurate *** drainage may be required to control sepsis and also provide an egress route for intra-abdominal collections.

Assessment of cortical bone microdamage following insertion of microimplants using optical coherence tomography: a preliminary study

Objectives： The study was done to evaluate the efficacy of optical coherence tomography （OCT）, to detect and analyze the microdamage occurring around the microimplant immediately following its placement, and to compare the findings with micro-computed tomography （IJCT） images of the samples to validate the result of the present study. Methods： Microimplants were inserted into bovine bone samples. Images of the samples were obtained using OCT and μCT. Visual comparisons of the images were made to evaluate whether anatomical details and microdamage induced by microimplant insertion were accurately revealed by OCT. Results： The surface of the cortical bone with its anatomical variations is visualized on the OCT images. Microdamage occurring on the surface of the cortical bone around the microimplant can be appreciated in OCT images. The resulting OCT images were compared with the μCT images. A high correlation regarding the visualization of individual microcracks was observed. The depth penetration of OCT is limited when compared to μCT. Conclusions： OCT in the present study was able to generate high-resolution images of the microdamage occurring around the microimplant. Image quality at the surface of the cortical bone is above par when compared with μCT imaging, because of the inherent high contrast and high-resolution quality of OCT systems. Improvements in the imaging depth and development of intraoral sensors are vital for developing a real-time imaging system and integrating the system into orthodontic practice.

In the present day availability of agricultural waste products is very huge quantity. Most of the industries prefer Metal matrix composite (MMC) due to their density, high strength to weight ratio, hardness, corrosion resistance, fatigue and creep resistance. Hence they are widely used in structural applications along with aerospace and automobile industry, marine, sports, electronic and automation industries. In the present paper a study is focused on the mechanical, tribological and corrosion behavior of the metal matrix composite using different agro waste ash which is easily available. Agro waste ash like Rice Husk, groundnut shell, bamboo leaf, coconut shell can be used as reinforcement and applicable for various applications like automotive, structural components. From this current study, it’s clearly identified that addition of agro waste ash as reinforcement with Aluminium improves the properties of metal matrix composite. Aluminium metal with such reinforcement materials has shown a high specific strength, yield strength and ultimate tensile strength, also it will increase hardness, satisfactory levels of corrosion resistance.

Angiosarcoma of Maxillary Sinus: A Case Report

Purpose: To describe a rare malignancy involving the sinonasal cavities. To discuss the clinical, diagnostic, and treatment modalities. Study Design: A case report including histopathological, radiological analysis and review of literature. Method: A case report is described from a tertiary care centre. Histopathological and radiological details are reviewed. Results: This case report presents a 29 year old male with 3 days history of bleeding from the left nostril, blood stained saliva with post nasal discharge and head ache. Biopsy demonstrated poorly differentiated Angiosarcoma. On immune stains the tumor cells showed diffuse strong cytoplasmic membrane positivity with CD 31 and few cells are positive for CD34. FLI-1 is also positive. Conclusion: Angiosarcoma is a rare malignancy involving the sinonasal cavities. Multidisciplinary approach is essential to obtain clear diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans.

BACKGROUND Nursing officers are an integral component of any medical *** participate in taking care of basic airway management and assist in advanced airway management,specifically amidst the current coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** To assess the efficacy of a standardized web-based training module for nurses in preparedness to fight against *** The training was held in three sessions of 1 h each,consisting of live audio-visual lectures,case scenarios,and skill *** sequence of airway equipment,drug preparation,airway examination,and plans of airway management was demonstrated through mannequin-based *** Pre-and post-test scores as well as objective structured clinical examination scores were analyzed using Student’s t-test and the Likert scale was used for feedback *** was found that the mean score out of the total score of 20 was 8.47±4.2 in the pre-test,while in the post-test it was 17.4±1.8(P value<0.001).The participants also felt self-reliant in executing the roles of airway assistant(63.3%)and drug assistant(74.3%).Fear of self-infection with COVID-19 was also high,as 66%of participants feared working with the patient’s *** Amidst this COVID-19 emergency,when the health care systems are being persistently challenged,training of nursing staff in the safe conduct of airway management can ensure delivery of life-saving treatment.
