interactive Effect of Forage Mixing Rates and Organic Fertilizers on the Yield and Nutritive Value of Berseem Clover (<i>Trifolium alexandrinum</i>L.) and Annual Ryegrass (<i>Lolium multiflorum</i>Lam.)

Berseem clover (Trifolium alexandrinum L.) is the main winter forage legume in Egypt. Despite that the yield and protein content of berseem clover are high, it is characterized by low dry matter content especially in the 1st cut. intercropping berseem clover with forage grasses, especially annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) is a recommended technique to produce higher forage yield with better balanced nutritional quality. However, little is known about the performance of these proposed mixtures under the arising organic farming system in Egypt. Organic farming and the application of organic fertilizers (compost and poultry manure) are receiving increased attention in the last few years. Thus, the current study was carried out on the winter season of two successive years (2012 and 2013) in the experimental station of SEKEM organic farm, Egypt. Main aim was to investigate the variation in 1st cut forage yield and nutritive value of berseem clover and annual ryegrass, grown in pure stands and with three mixing rates, under three organic fertilization regimes (compost, poultry litter, and no fertilization). Nutritive value was judged through investigating the crude protein (CP), total carbohydrates (TC), and fiber fractions (NDF, ADF, and ADL). Results revealed significant two-way interaction between the forage treatments and the fertilization regimes for all the studied parameters. in general, mixing berseem clover with annual ryegrass, fertilized by compost or poultry litter resulted in significantly higher forage yield, dry matter content, and balanced CP, TC, and fiber fractions, compared to the pure stands.

Scottish Primary School Children Who Consume Greater Levels of Fruit and Vegetables Have improved Health Markers

Background: There is conflicting information about whether Scottish children follow the UK government recommendation of consuming 5 portions of fruit and vegetable (F & V) a day, or whether increased intake of F & V promotes improved health. Objective: This study aimed to 1) perform a cross-sectional study of the number of F & V portions that primary school children consume in relation to age (4 - 13 years old) and sex, 2) establish the relationship between F & V intake and health parameters. Methods: Data were collected from 466 children using a specific F & V intake questionnaire. Health parameters (weight, height, blood pressure, waist circumference, hip circumference and lung function) were measured from all of the children. Results: Children consumed on average a total of 4.50 (SD 1.86) portions of F & V per day. F & V intake was not significantly different between girls and boys (t(464) = -0.397, P = 0.69). Children had greater intake of F&V on week day compared to weekend day (t(465) = 6.42, P ≤ 0.001). 42.2% children achieved the recommended F & V intake of five or more portions per day. After adjusting for age, sex and school, children who consumed more F & V had several markers of positive health including greater height, and parameters reflecting pulmonary function (FEV1 and FVC) were improved, while body weight, body fat, systolic blood pressure, pulse, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist to hip and waist to height ratio were all reduced. Conclusion: The recommended level of F & V or more can promote health among primary age children.

A large subset of corneal pathologies involves the formation of new vessels(neovascularization), leading to compromised visual acuity. This article aims to review the clinical causes and presentations of corneal neovascularization(CNV) by examining the mechanisms behind common CNV-related corneal pathologies, with a particular focus on herpes simplex stromal keratitis,contact lenses-induced keratitis and CNV secondary to keratoplasty. Moreover, we reviewed CNV in the context of different types of corneal transplantation and keratoprosthesis, and summarized the most relevant treatment available so far.

2-Aminocyclopenta[d]pyrimidines 3a-c were achieved via a one-pot, three-component reactions of cyclopentanone 1, aromatic aldehyde and guanidine hydrochloride （1：2：1 molar ratio）. Also, cyclization of 2,5-bis-（arylmethylidene）cyclopentanones 2 with guanidine hydrochloride （1：1 molar ratio） in methanol in the presence of sodium methoxide afforded cyclopenta-[d]pyrimidines 3. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) refers to a neuro-disorder wherean individual has long-lasting effects on communication and interaction *** information technologywhich employs artificial intelligence(Ai) model has assisted in early identify ASD by using pattern *** advances of Ai models assist in the automated identification andclassification of ASD, which helps to reduce the severity of the *** study introduces an automated ASD classification using owl searchalgorithm with machine learning (ASDC-OSAML) model. The proposedASDC-OSAML model majorly focuses on the identification and classificationof ASD. To attain this, the presentedASDC-OSAML model follows minmaxnormalization approach as a pre-processing stage. Next, the owl searchalgorithm (OSA)-based feature selection (OSA-FS) model is used to derivefeature subsets. Then, beetle swarm antenna search (BSAS) algorithm withiterative Dichotomiser 3 (iD3) classification method was implied for ASDdetection and classification. The design of BSAS algorithm helps to determinethe parameter values of the iD3 classifier. The performance analysis of theASDC-OSAML model is performed using benchmark dataset. An extensivecomparison study highlighted the supremacy of the ASDC-OSAML modelover recent state of art approaches.

Biomedical images are used for capturing the images for diagnosis process and to examine the present condition of organs or *** image processing concepts are identical to biomedical signal processing,which includes the investigation,improvement,and exhibition of images gathered using x-ray,ultrasound,MRi,*** the same time,cervical cancer becomes a major reason for increased women’s mortality *** cervical cancer is an identified at an earlier stage using regular pap smear *** this aspect,this paper devises a new biomedical pap smear image classification using cascaded deep forest(BPSiC-CDF)model on internet of Things(ioT)*** BPSiC-CDF technique enables the ioT devices for pap smear image *** addition,the pre-processing of pap smear images takes place using adaptive weighted mean filtering(AWMF)***,sailfish optimizer with Tsallis entropy(SFO-TE)approach has been implemented for the segmentation of pap smear ***,a deep learning based Residual Network(ResNet50)method was executed as a feature extractor and CDF as a classifier to determine the class labels of the input pap smear *** order to showcase the improved diagnostic outcome of the BPSiCCDF technique,a comprehensive set of simulations take place on Herlev *** experimental results highlighted the betterment of the BPSiCCDF technique over the recent state of art techniques interms of different performance measures.

STW 5 is effective against nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs induced gastro-duodenal lesions in rats

BACKGROUND Proton pump inhibitors are often used to prevent gastro-intestinal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory ***,they are not always effective against both gastric and duodenal lesions and their use is not devoid of side *** To explore the mechanisms mediating the clinical efficacy of STW 5 in gastroduodenal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAiDs),exemplified here by diclofenac,in a comparison to *** Gastro-duodenal lesions were induced in rats by oral administration of diclofenac(5 mg/kg)for 6 successive *** group was given concurrently STW 5(5 mL/kg)while another was given omeprazole(20 mg/kg).A day later,animals were sacrificed,stomach and duodenum excised and divided into 2 segments:One for histological examination and one for measuring inflammatory mediators(tumor necrosis factorα,interleukins-1βand 10),oxidative stress enzyme(heme oxygenase-1)and apoptosis regulator(B-cell lymphoma 2).RESULTS Diclofenac caused overt histological damage in both tissues,associated with parallel changes in all parameters *** 5 and omeprazole effectively prevented these changes,but STW 5 superseded omeprazole in protecting against histological damage,particularly in the *** The findings support the therapeutic usefulness of STW 5 and its superiority over omeprazole as adjuvant therapy to NSAiDs to protect against their possible gastro-duodenal side effects.
