Aim:To investigate the blood pressure(BP),baroreflex sensitivity(BRS),andorgan damage in hybrids of spontaneously hypertensive rats and ***:Spontaneously hypertensive rats and Sprague-Dawley rats werecrossbred,and the F1hybrids were inbred randomly to produce an *** the age of 52 weeks,the F1and F2hybrids were tested to determine BP and BRSin a conscious *** examinations were carried out after BPrecording and BRS ***:BP and BRS were not different in F1and *** was inversely related to systolic BP(SBP)in male,female,or wholepopulations of ***,BRS values were one-third determined bySBP level(the determinant coefficient was 0.326).The indexes for left ventricularhypertrophy,aortic hypertrophy,and renal damage were all positively related toBP,and negatively related to *** multiple-regression analysis,left ventricularand aortic hypertrophy and glomerulosclerosis score were all most significantlyassociated with lower BRS and higher systolic *** contribution of BRS to leftventricular and aortic hypertrophy and glomerulosclerosis was greater than thatof ***:The present work with hybrid rats demonstrated quantita-tively that the BRS value was one-third determined by SBP *** BP leveland BRS value contributed greatly to the hypertensive organ ***,the contribution of BRS to the hypertensive organ damage was greater than thatof BP level in these rats.

Aim: To test the synergistic effects of atenolol and amlodipine on lowering blood pressure (BP) and reducing blood pressure variability (BPV) in 2-kidney, one-clip (2K1C) renovascular hypertensive rats. Methods: Forty-eight 2K1C renovascular hypertensive rats were randomly divided into 6 groups. They were respectively given 0.8% carboxymethylcellulose sodium (control), atenolol (10.0 mg/kg), amlodipine (1.0 mg/kg), and combined atenolol and amlodipine (low dose: 5.0+0.5 mg/kg; intermediate dose: 10.0+1.0 mg/kg; high dose: 20.0+2.0 mg/kg). The drugs were given via a catheter in a gastric fistula. BP was recorded for 25 h from 1 h before drug administration to 24 h after administration. Results: Compared with BP before medication, all 3 doses of combined atenolol and amlodipine significantly decreased the BP at 24 h after administration, except for the low dose on diastolic BP. Compared with the control group, all 3 doses of combined atenolol and amlodipine significantly reduced the average BP levels for the 24 h period after administration; furthermore, the high and intermediate doses also significantly decreased the BPV levels for the same period. The q values calculated by probability sum analysis for systolic and diastolic BP for the 24 h period after administration were 2.29 and 1.45, respectively, and for systolic and diastolic BPV for the same period they were 1.41 and 1.60, respectively. Conclusion: There is significant synergism between atenolol and amlodipine in lowering and stabilizing BP in 2K1C renovascular hypertensive rats.

The long-term safety and effectiveness of once-daily tadalafil is crucial,but limited data are available in Chinese patients witherectile dysfunction(ED).In this post-marketing,multicenter,randomized,open-label trial with 2-year follow-up,635 ED caseswere randomized to receive daily oral tadalafil 2.5 mg or 5 mg for 3 months,of whom 580 continued once-daily tadalafil 5 mg for21 ***-emergent adverse events in the 12-month and 24-month period were similar,with the most common beingviral upper respiratory tract infection,upper respiratory tract infection,and *** improvement from baseline inthe International Index of Erectile function-Erectile function(IIEF-EF)score was detected at month 12(least squares mean[LSM]change:7.9,95%confidence interval[CI]:7.5–8.4,Phe proportions of patients regaining normal erectile function(IIEF-EF score≥26)were 43.7%and 48.0%at months 12 and 24,*** Assessment Questionnaire results showed improved erection function in 97.5%ofpatients and improved ability to engage in sexual activity in 95.9%of patients at month 12;these values were 96.1%and 95.0%at month 24,*** quality of sexual life score based on the Sexual Life Quality Questionnaire(SLQQ)was increased by52.2%at month 12 and by 55.3%at month 24(both Phe treatment satisfaction score determined by SLQQ(mean±standard deviation)was 62.4±21.0 at month 12 versus 65.9±20.2 at month ***-year daily application of tadalafil 5mg in Chinese men with ED showed a favorable safety profile and durable improvement in sexual performance and satisfaction.

Aim:To investigate the relationship between arterial baroreflex(ABR)functionand telomere length in kidney of ***:Stroke-prone spontaneouslyhypertensive rats(SHR-SP)and sinoaortic denervated rats(SAD)were used asmodels with depressed arterial *** the first experiments,SHR-SP ratswere examined at the age of 24 weeks for both sexes and 40 weeks for female *** the second experiments,SAD rats were studied 4 and 35 weeks after *** pressure was continuously recorded for 4h in a conscious *** the determination of baroreflex sensitivity(BRS),the terminal restrictionfragment(TRF)of rat kidney was analyzed using Southern ***:TheTRF length was found shorter in:a)male SHR-SP compared with age-matchedfemale SHR-SP;b)female SHR-SP 40 weeks of age compared with 24 weeks of age;c)in rats 35 weeks after operation compared with rats 4 weeks post operation inboth sham-operated and SAD ***:In SHR-SP,the TRF length didnot correlate with *** addition,SAD did not affect TRF length at either 4 or 35weeks *** may be concluded that baroreflex function does not influ-ence the terminal restriction fragment(TRF)length in rats.

Background:Climate change profoundly shapes the population health at the global ***,there was still insufficient and inconsistent evidence for the association between heat exposure and chronic kidney disease(CKD).Methods:In the present study,we studied the association of heat exposure with hospitalizations for cause-specific CKD using a national inpatient database in china during the study period of hot season from 2015 to *** time-series regression models and random-effects Meta-analysis were developed to estimate the city-specific and national averaged associations at a 7 lag-day span,***:A total of 768,129 hospitalizations for CKD was recorded during the study *** results showed that higher temperature was associated with elevated risk of hospitalizations for CKD,especially in sub-tropical *** a 1℃ increase in daily mean temperature,the cumulative relative risks(RR)over lag 0-7 d were 1.008[95% confidence interval(CI)1.003-1.012]for *** attributable fraction of CKD hospitalizations due to high temperatures was 5.50%.Stronger associations were observed among younger patients and those with obstructive *** study also found that exposure to heatwaves was associated with added risk of hospitalizations for CKD compared to non-heatwave days(RR=1.116,95%CI 1.069-1.166)above the effect of daily mean ***:Short-term heat exposure may increase the risk of hospitalization for *** findings provide insights into the health effects of climate change and suggest the necessity of guided protection strategies against the adverse effects of high temperatures.

Aim:To test the effects of atenolol and amlodipine,either alone or in combination,on blood pressure,blood pressure variability (BPV),baroreflex sensitivity (BRS),and the prevalence of stroke in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR-SP).Methods:In the first set of the study,24 8-month-old,female SHR-SPrats were randomly divided into 3 *** pressure,heart period,and BRSwere determined before and after the intragastric administration of atenolol (10mg/kg) and amlodipine (1.0 mg/kg),either alone or in *** the secondset of the study,40 male and 40 female rats were randomly assigned to 1 of thefollowing 4 groups:control,atenolol (10 mg·kg-1·d-1),amlodipine (1.0 mg·kg-1·d-1),and both (10 male and 10 female in each group).The stroke incident and survivaltime were ***:Atenolol and amlodipine,either alone or incombination,significantly decreased blood pressure,with the exception of theamlodipine-induced effect on diastolic blood ***,only the com-bination treatment significantly decreased the BPV levels for the same *** q-values calculated by the probability sum analysis were 1.17 and 2.67 forsystolic and diastolic blood pressure,respectively,and were 2.48 and 2.10 forsystolic and diastolic BPV,respectively,following *** drugexhibited any significant effect on *** and amlodipine,either alone orin combination,significantly increased the lifespan of SHR-SP,with the best ef-fect elicited by the combination ***:A significant synergismexists between atenolol and amlodipine in lowering and stabilizing blood pressurein *** therapy may be an optimal strategy for the prevention ofstroke in hypertension.
