Visceral leishmaniasis(VL)is a neglected tropical disease,and this review has summarized the current treatment scenario and its *** also highlights alternative approaches used by research groups in India and around the world to develop cutting-edge and potent anti-leishmanial *** though numerous medications could be utilized to treat VL,the limitations of current treatments including their toxicity,cost,route of administration,and duration of doses,have contributed to the emergence of *** therapy might be a better option due to its shorter duration,easier route of administration,and ability to extend the lifespan of individual ***,there is a risk of not delivering both the drugs to the target site together,which can be overcome by the liposomal entrapment of those drugs and at a time knock an opportunity to reduce the dosage of amphotericin B if the combination drug provides a synergistic effect with ***,this review presents a novel strategy to fight against VL by introducing dual drug-loaded liposomes.

Shales, the most abundant of sedimentary rocks, are valued as the source-rocks and seals to porous petroleum reservoirs. Over the past-twenty years, organic-rich shales have also emerged as valuable petroleum systems （reservoir, seal, and source rocks contained in the same for- mation）. As such they have become primary targets for petroleum exploration and exploitation. This Part 1 of a three-part review addresses the bulk properties, multi-scale geometry and gas adsorption characteristics of these diverse and complex rocks. Shales display extremely low permeability, and their porosity is also low, but multi-scale. Characterizing the geometry and interconnectivity of the pore-structure frameworks with the natural-fracture networks within shales is essential for establish- ing their petroleum exploitation potential. Organic-rich shales typically contain two distinct types of porosity： matrix porosity and fracture porosity. In addition to inter-granular porosity, the matrix po- rosity includes two types of mineral-hosted porosity： inorganic-mineral-hosted porosity （1P）; and, organic-matter-hosted （within the kerogen） porosity （OP）. Whereas, the fracture porosity and per- meability is crucial for petroleum production from shales, it is within the OP where, typically, much of the in-situ oil and gas resources resides, and from where it needs to be mobilized. OP increases signifi- cantly as shales become more thermally mature （i.e., within the gas generation zones）, and plays a key role in the ultimate recovery from shale-gas systems. Shales＇ methane sorption capacities （MSC） tends to be positively correlated with their total organic carbon content （TOC）, thermal maturation, and mi- cropore volume. Clay minerals also significantly influence key physical properties of shale related to fluid flow （permeability） and response to stress （fracability） that determine their prospectivity for pe- troleum exploitation. This study presents new major,trace and REE data for thirty-five ferromanganese nodules recovered from areas representing three different sediment types(siliceous,red clay and their transition zone)in the Central Indian Ocean Basin(CIOB)to address their genetic aspects,classification,growth rate,nature of host sediments and influence of REE in the processes of nodule *** nodules from CIOB are mostly either hydrogenetic(metals coming from oxygenated bottom water)and diagenetic(metals coming from suboxic sediment pore water)or a combination of both,depending on the source of supply of ***,a number of biogeochemical processes mediate this supply of metals which again changes from time to time,making the nodule growth process highly *** study suggests that at the initial stage of nodule growth,host sediments do not play much role in controlling the growth processes for which REEs can enter both Mn and Fe oxyhydroxide phases ***,the bottom water signature is imprinted in these early formed nodules irrespective of their host sediment substrate but with gradual growth and burial in the sediment,the main mode of metal enrichment becomes diagenetic through sediment pore *** tends to increase the concentration of Mn,ni and Cu over other elements which are retained in the sediment *** the REEs,Ce concentration of the nodules shows significant positive anomaly due to variation in redox potential and hence its magnitude can be used to get an idea about the metal enrichment procedure and the genetic type of the ***,based on host sediment only,not much difference is found in the magnitude of Ce anomaly in these *** the other hand,discrimination diagram,based on HFSE and REY chemistry,indicates that most of these nodules are of diagenetic origin under oxic condition with a trend towards hydrogenetic ***,the genetic type of the ferromanganese nodules from the CIOB are more effectively differentiated

The goal of the present study is to improve the elevated temperature wear resistance of an Al-17 wt%Si-5 wt%Cu alloy(AR alloy) by a novel short duration heat treatment process. The elevated temperature(100°C) dry sliding wear behavior of an AR alloy was studied after microstructural modification using the proposed heat treatment. The study revealed considerable microstructural modifications after the heat treatment and the heat treated alloy was designated as HT(heat treatment) alloy. A higher hardness value was obtained for the HT alloy compared to the AR alloy. Accordingly, the wear rate for the HT alloy was found to be significantly lower compared to the as-cast AR alloy at all applied loads. Accelerated particle pull-out for the AR alloy at elevated temperatures resulted in poor wear behavior for it compared to the HT alloy. On the other hand, the Si particles remained intact on the worn surface of the HT alloy due to the good particle/matrix bonding that resulted from the isothermal heat treatment. Furthermore, the age hardening that occurred in the HT alloy during wear provided additional wear resistance. Thus, the HT alloy at 100°C exhibited a lower wear rate compared to the AR alloy even at room temperature for all applied loads. This improvement was attributed to microstructural modification upon isothermal heat treatment along with the age hardening effect.

This paper represents the electrical and optical characteristics of a SinW/ZnO heterojunction diode and subsequent studies on the photodetection properties of the diode in the ultraviolet （UV） wavelength region. In this work, silicon nanowire arrays were prepared on p-type （100）-oriented Si substrate by an electroless metal deposition and etching method with the help of ultrasonication. After that, catalyst-free deposition of zinc oxide （ZnO） nanowires on a silicon nanowire （SinW） array substrate was done by utilizing a simple and cost-effective thermal evaporation technique without using a buffer layer. The SEM and XRD techniques are used to show the quality of the as-grown ZnO nanowire film. The junction properties of the diode are evaluated by measuring current-voltage and capacitance-voltage characteristics. The diode has a well-defined rectifying behavior with a rectification ratio of 190 at -t-2 V, turn-on voltage of 0.5 V, and barrier height is 0.727 eV at room temperature under dark conditions. The photodetection parameters of the diode are investigated in the bias voltage range of ± 2 V. The diode shows responsivity of 0.8 A/W at a bias voltage of 2 V under UV illumination （wavelength = 365 nm）. The characteristics of the device indicate that it can be used for UV detection applications in nano-optoelectronic and photonic devices.
