Genetic Analysis of Familial Mediterranean Fever among Egyptian Patients

Background: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autoinflammatory genetic disorder that associated with different genetic mutations. Frequency of clinical manifestation differs according to age group, geographic region and ethnic population. Objectives: To study the clinical manifestation of FMF in relation to genotype (M680I, M694V, M694I and V726A). Result: The main presentation of studied group was abdominal pain 65.9% (203), followed by fever 60.4% (186) patients. (Mutation M694V) was the commonest 47.6% (297), followed by (Mutation V726A) in 32.8% (169%), then (Mutation M6802) in 23.4% (121) lastly (Mutation M6941) was in 22.1% (114) patients. Fever was highly associated with mutation (V729A) and it was statistically significant (*p value 0.047). Conclusion: Abdominal pain and fever were the most common manifestation of FMF patients. (Mutation M694V), (Mutation V726A) were the most detected mutation. Third age group;fever was associated with genetic mutation (V726A), abdominal pain with (M6941).

The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique has recently received considerable attention for wireless networks. Despite its advantages, it has a major drawback of its high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) value which affects the system efficiency and the cost. In this paper, a proposed system is discussed to achieve 0 dB PAPR value. It depends on a proposed block, called Constant Amplitude (CA) modulation. The whole characteristic mathematical analysis is presented for the proposed system. Additionally, the complexity evolution is explained. Afterwards, many MATLAB simulation programs are executed. Time and frequency domain behaviors are presented. Furthermore, in-band distortion introduced by the proposed CA modulation is calculated in terms of Error Vector Magnitude (EVM). Moreover, the proposed system outperforms the conventional one when compared in terms of PAPR, equalization, and BER under Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel and multipath fading channels. In addition, the impact of the proposed scheme design parameter is studied.

Obesity has become a leading global health problem owing to its strong association with a high incidence of diseases. Obesity is results from the complex interaction of environmental factors that act on a genetic background and led to excess accumulated of body fat. Treatment of obesity includes determination of the degree of obesity, management weight loss programme and maintenance of body weight. To investigate effect 6 months safe weight loss program on anthropometric measurements and biological and metabolic profiles in obese patients. 35 obese patients were enrolled in the present study： 20 female, 15 male. Participants underwent a comprehensive series of biochemical, anthropometrical, physical, and nutritional prior to treatment- at baseline and after the six-month of the obesity treatment program. 6 months weight loss program. Diet plan intervention in small groups. In-person training and individual diet plan intervention. There is significant reduction in weight and high improvement in laboratory parameters. Our data showed that there an improvement in weight loss. These finding may be important for controlling obesity-related co-morbidities. It would appear that moderate weight loss of 8-10 % observed in our study resulted in significant improvements in laboratory parameters

Objective:The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence and level of social media addiction among nursing students in the Faculty of Nursing,Cairo *** and Methods:A descriptive cross‑sectional research design was conducted on samples of 340 students at the Faculty of Nursing,Cairo *** were collected through demographic background information sheet and Social Networking Addiction ***:All the students were addicted as 6.76%were severely addicted and 60.59%and 32.65%were moderately and mildly addicted,*** relations were found between social media addiction and students’age(χ^(2)=11.331,P=0.003),educational level(χ^(2)=20.239,P=0.003),and grade point average(χ^(2)=19.378,P=0.013).Conclusion:Internet addiction was prevalent among all students but at different levels,so early screening of students for Internet addiction using the Internet Addiction Scale is important to provide early treatment and prevent hazards to health.

AIM:To investigate cell cycle proteins in chronic hepatitis C virus infection in order to analyze their role in the process of hepatocyte transformation and to characterize their prognostic properties. METHODS:Subjects of the current study included 50 cases of chronic hepatitis C(CHC) without cirrhosis,30 cases of CHC with liver cirrhosis(LC) ,and 30 cases of hepatitis C-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) admitted to the Department of Hepato-Gastroenterology,Theodor Bilharz Research Institute(TBRI) ,Giza,*** wedge liver biopsies,taken during laparoscopic cholecystectomy,were also included as normal *** investigations including urine and stool analysis,liver function tests and prothrombin concentration;serologic markers for viral hepatitis and ultrasonography were done for all cases of the study together with immunohistochemical analysis using primary antibodies against Cyclin D1,Cyclin E,p21,p27 and Rb/p105 proteins. RESULTS:Normal wedge liver biopsies didn't express Cyclin E or Rb/p105 immunostaining but show positive staining for Cyclin D1,p21 and *** D1 expressed nuclear staining that was sequentially increased from CHC to LC(Pelated to Rb/p105 *** expression of p21 and p27 was significantly increased in CHC and LC cases compared to normal controls and HCCs with no significant difference between well-and poorlydifferentiated tumors.p21 showed only a nuclear pattern of staining,while,p27 presented with either cytoplasmic and/or nuclear reactivity in all studied *** analysis revealed a direct relation between Cyclin D1 and p21 in CHC cases(Pelationship was detected between Cyclin D1 and p21 or p27(P<0.001) and between p21 and Rb/p105(P<0.05) in HCCs. The high efficiency hydrogen fiber Bragg grating （FBG） sensor is presented. The sensitive film was a new alliance of palladium-silver （Pd-Ag）. In addition, the titanium （Ti） layer was used as the adhesive layer. The presented sensor showed the resolution of more than 60pm/1%H2, and a fast response time of4s - 5s was guaranteed in the 0.1%H2 - 4%H2 range. Moreover, the life time of the sensor was investigated. The obtained results showed that the sensor had an enhanced life time. Furthermore, the sensor was applied in the propulsion system fuel tank model of the aerospace vehicle. The obtained results indicated that it is a prevention system against the disaster aerospace due to hydrogen leakage.

In vivo Toxicity of Beta-cyfluthrin Insecticide against the Red Palm Weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus （Olivier）

The red palm weevil （RPW） Rhynchophorusferrugineus is one of the most invasive insect pests causing massive damage on date palms over the world. Synthetic pyrethroid insecticide beta-cyfluthrin has been evaluated against developmental stages of RPW under laboratory conditions. These stages were exposed to residual film of the insecticide on transparent cups using a Potter precision laboratory spray tower. Percent mortality of males and females were recorded 0.5, 2.0 and 24 h after treatment. Furthermore, date palm offshoots were infested in mesh house, two months later, offshoots treated with 300 ppm （p.g/mL） beta-eyfluthrin using two methods dipping and injection. Bioassay test showed beta-cyfluthrin at 300 ppm caused 86,7% and 93,3% mortality against males and females after 2 h respectively with LC50 135.74 and 109.4 ppm. By increasing the concentration at 400 ppm, mortality reached 100% against males and females after 24 h, Developmental stages, eggs and larvae were more sensitive toward the insecticide, where at 120 ppm no eggs hatched after 96 h and 86.7% mortality was recorded at 200 ppm against larvae after 30 rain with LC50 93.19 ppm. In addition, dipping method of date palm offshoots in 300 ppm beta-cyfluthrin was a very convenient way to control all RPW stages compared to injection method. So, it possible to recommend this method for treating the date palm offshoots in such insecticide as one of the most important elements of integrated pest management for standardizing insecticide based quarantine protocols.
