The behavior of non-newtonian power-law nanofluids under free convection heat transfer conditions in a cooled square enclosure equipped with a heated fin is investigated *** particular,the impact of nanofluids,composed of water and Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and Cu nanoparticles,on heat transfer enhancement is *** aim of this research is also to analyze the influence of different parameters,including the Rayleigh number(Ra=10^(4)-10^(6)),nanoparticle volume fraction(φ=0%-20%),non-newtonian power-law indexes(n=0.6-1.4),and fin dimensions(Ar=0.3,0.5,and 0.7).Streamlines and isotherms are used to depict flow and related heat transfer *** indicate that thermal performance improves with increasing Rayleigh number,regardless of the nanoparticle type or nanofluid rheological *** suggests that the buoyancy force has a significant impact on heat transfer,particularly near the heat *** nusselt number is more sensitive to variations in Cu nanoparticle volume fractions compared to Al₂O₃and TiO₂.Moreover,the average nusselt numbers for power-law nanofluids with nn>1)are greater(smaller)than for newtonian fluids due to the decrease(increase)in viscosity with increasing(decreasing)shear rate,at the same values of Rayleigh number Ra owing to the amplification(attenuation)of the convective ***,the most substantial enhancement is observed with Cu-water shear-thinning nanofluid,where the nusselt number increases by 136%when changing from newtonian to shear thinning behavior and by 154.9%when adding 16%nanoparticle volume ***,an even larger increase of 57%in the average nusselt number is obtained on increasing the fin length from 0.3 to 0.7.

Medical bone implant magnesium(Mg)alloys are subjected to both corrosive environments and complex loads in the human *** increasing number of hyperglycemic and diabetic patients in recent years has brought new challenges to the fatigue performance of Mg ***,it is significant to study the corrosion fatigue(CF)behavior of medical Mg alloys in glucose-containing simulated body fluids for their clinical ***,the corrosion and fatigue properties of extruded Mg-Zn-Zr-nd alloy in Hank’s balanced salt solution(HBSS)containing different concentrations(1 g/L and 3 g/L)of glucose were *** average grain size of the alloy is about 5μm,which provides excellent overall mechanical *** conditional fatigue strength of the alloy was 127 MPa in air and 88 MPa and 70 MPa in HBSS containing 1 g/L glucose and 3 g/L glucose,*** crack initiation points for alloys in air are oxide inclusions and in solution are corrosion *** corrosion rate of the alloy is high at the beginning,and decreases as the surface corrosion product layer thickens with the increase of immersion *** corrosion products of the alloy are mainly Mg(OH)_(2),MgO and a small amount of Ca-P *** electrochemical results indicated that the corrosion rate of the alloys gradually decreased with increasing immersion time,but the corrosion tendency of the alloy was greater in HBSS containing 3 g/L *** the one hand,glucose accelerates the corrosion process by adsorbing large amounts of aggressive Cl^(-)*** the other hand,glucose will be oxidized to form gluconic acid,and then reacts with Mg(OH)_(2) and MgO to form Mg gluconate,which destroys the corrosion product film and leads to the aggravation of corrosion and the accumulation of fatigue damage.

Pervasiveness of microplastics in the gastrointestinal tract of some selected fish species from Turag River alongside the capital city of Bangladesh

Microplastics(MPs)are synthetic contaminants that have received global attention due to their ubiquitous occurrence,extreme durability,and capacity to harm ecosystems and human *** study investigated the occurrence of MPs in three fish species(Channa striata,Puntius sophore and Anabas testudineus)collected from two locations(Ashulia Bridge and Mirpur Road)of the Turag River,which flows alongside the Dhaka city,*** abundance(items/individuals)was highest in Channa striata(3.8±0.6)from the Ashulia Bridge area and lowest in Puntius sophore(1.8±0.4)from the Mirpur Road *** was found to be the most dominant(89e93%)form of MPs followed by fragments(21 e35%),films(0e26%)and foams(0e5%).The dominant color of MPs was blue(69e83%),then red(20 e33%),black(11e14%),green(8e20%),and purple(6e8%).The majority(56e71%)of the MPs assessed weren size,followed by 0.5e1.0 mm(29e33%)and 1e5 mm(38e53%).ATR-FTIR examination revealed three specific polymer varieties-PP(40%),PS(30%)and LDPE(30%).The results of this study provided a baseline of MPs pollution in one of the major protein sources freshwater fishes and raised concern on public health particularly who consume fishes from the urban waterways.

Combinations of metal and lanthanide oxides have been done through casted films for potential medical applications. In this regard, samarium(Ⅲ) oxide/chromium(Ⅲ) oxide/graphene oxide(GO)/polycaprolactone(PCL) based films nano-composites(nCs) were fabricated, pointing their utilization as a biological scaffold for wound dressing purposes. Also, samarium(Ⅲ) oxide and chromium(Ⅲ) oxide have been merged as promising optical constituents due to their unique optical behavior. The structural and compositional examination of the studied nCs was executed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman, and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM). The Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL nC exhibits a surface with a lower roughness degree owing to the presence of GO. Cr_(2)O_(3)shows size reduction upon GO insertion to reach 1.2 μm as the average grain size, whilst Sm_(2)O_(3)records an average grain size of less than 1 μm. As well, the polymeric nano-compositions exhibit variation in contact angle values that hit 29.76°± 3.52°for Sm_(2)O_(3)/PCL, and 48.62°± 1.37°for Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL as the second lowest contact angle. The optical behavior contributes to absorption edge relocation along the x-axis from 1.7 eV for pure PCL, to 2.65 eV for Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL. Regarding biological responses, the cell exposed to 2.5 μg/m L of Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL shows cell viability of 119.31%, while 5 μg/m L hits 99.6%. Additionally, the resulting cell attachment micrographs show layers of fibroblast tissue, besides the proliferation and growth of cultivated cells. Thus, the Sm_(2)O_(3)/Cr_(2)O_(3)/GO/PCL scaffold provides 3D proliferation of fibroblast cells endorsing the wound healing process.

Impact of metal polluted sewage water on soil nematode assemblages in agricultural settings of Aligarh,India

Sewage water in agriculture threatens human health and soil ecosystems through metal *** show promise as bioindicators of soil health due to their abundance and position in soil food ***-polluted water decreased abundance of certain nematode groups and Sigma Maturity *** pollution positively affected nematode groups with r-selected life *** water has been inappropriately used in agriculture,posing possible threats to human health and the soil ecosystems by its constituent pollutants,especially heavy *** evaluation of its influences on soil biomes needs to consider the response of soil *** soil organisms,nematodes are seen as the best promising candidates for bioindicators of soil *** in,we collected soil samples from fresh water irrigated field from three sites(S1,S2 and S3)and sewage water irrigated distance gradient(5 m-40 m),to assess the influence of metal(Cu,Zn,Cd,Mn,Pb)polluted water on various characteristics of nematode *** results indicated that the heavy metals decreased the abundance of C-p3 nematodes,herbivores,and predatory nematodes as well as sigma maturity index,whereas,C-p1,C-p2,bacterivore and fungivore nematodes abundance and diversity positively responded to the metal ***,nematode genera with r-selected life cycle were positively affected and those with K-selected life cycle were negatively affected by metal *** nematode community has potential to be used as indicator of pollution stress in agricultural soils to check soil health and sustainability.
