To the Editor:Esophageal cancer,one of the most common cancer types in China,with an estimated 346,633 new cases and 323,600 deaths in 2022,is becoming an increasingly serious clinical and public health problem.^([1])The successful promotion of the self-management strategy has indicated that lifestyle modifications can be valuable in the primary prevention of cancer development.Adopting a healthy lifestyle has become a novel strategy for primary prevention and risk reduction in high-risk areas.Previous epidemiological studies have identified several lifestyle-related risk factors for esophageal cancer,including smoking and diet.^([2])Each factor can typically explain a modest proportion of cancer risk.However,when combined,these known risk factors may substantially affect the risk of esophageal cancer.Nevertheless,some risk factors for esophageal cancer are non-modifiable,including age,low socioeconomic status,and family history.Whether and how these non-modifiable risk factors affect primary cancer prevention by intervening with modifiable risk factors remain unclear.

Deep Learning and Tensor-Based Multiple Clustering Approaches for Cyber-Physical-Social Applications

The study delves into the expanding role of network platforms in our daily lives, encompassing various mediums like blogs, forums, online chats, and prominent social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. While these platforms offer avenues for self-expression and community support, they concurrently harbor negative impacts, fostering antisocial behaviors like phishing, impersonation, hate speech, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, cyberterrorism, fake news propagation, spamming, and fraud. Notably, individuals also leverage these platforms to connect with authorities and seek aid during disasters. The overarching objective of this research is to address the dual nature of network platforms by proposing innovative methodologies aimed at enhancing their positive aspects and mitigating their negative repercussions. To achieve this, the study introduces a weight learning method grounded in multi-linear attribute ranking. This approach serves to evaluate the significance of attribute combinations across all feature spaces. Additionally, a novel clustering method based on tensors is proposed to elevate the quality of clustering while effectively distinguishing selected features. The methodology incorporates a weighted average similarity matrix and optionally integrates weighted Euclidean distance, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of attribute importance. The analysis of the proposed methods yields significant findings. The weight learning method proves instrumental in discerning the importance of attribute combinations, shedding light on key aspects within feature spaces. Simultaneously, the clustering method based on tensors exhibits improved efficacy in enhancing clustering quality and feature distinction. This not only advances our understanding of attribute importance but also paves the way for more nuanced data analysis methodologies. Highly active copper-intercalated weakly crystallizedδ-MnO2 for low-temperature oxidation of CO in dry and humid air

Copper intercalated birnessite MnO2(δ-MnO2)with weak crystallinity and high specific surface area(421 m2/g)was synthesized by a one-pot redox method and investigated for low-temperature CO oxidation.The molar ratio of Cu/Mn was as high as 0.37,which greatly weakened the Mn-O bond and created a lot of low-temperature active oxygen species.In situ DRIFTS revealed strong bonding of copper ions with CO.As-synthesized MnO2-150Cu achieved 100%conversion of 250 ppm CO in normal air(3.1 ppm H2O)even at−10°C under the weight-hourly space velocity(WHSV)of 150 L/(g·h).In addition,it showed high oxygen storage capacity to oxidize CO in inert atmosphere.Though the concurrent moisture in air significantly inhibited CO adsorption and its conversion at ambient temperature,MnO2-150Cu could stably convert CO in 1.3%moisture air at 70°C owing to its great low-temperature activity and reduced competitive adsorption of water with increased temperature.This study discovers the excellent low-temperature activity of weakly crystallizedδ-MnO2 induced by high content intercalated copper ions.

Influence of toxic substances on dynamical behavior of a delayed diffusive predator-prey model

In this paper,we propose and investigate a delayed diffusive predator-prey model affected by toxic substances.We first study the boundedness and persistence property of the model.By analyzing the associated characteristic equation,we obtain the conditions for the existence of steady state bifurcation,Hopf bifurcation and Turing bifurcation.Furthermore,we also study the Hopf bifurcation induced by the delay.Finally,our theoretical results are verified by numerical simulation.The numerical observation results are in good agreement with the theoretically predicted results.Theoretical and numerical simulations indicate that toxic substances have a great impact on the dynamics of the system.

Single-atom catalysts(SACs)are considered the best candidates for olefin hydroformylation due to their combined advantages of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts.Unlike conventional organo-phosphine modification,Rh SAC is modified by introducing Ca,resulting in a significant increase in activity(maximum~5.7-fold)and stability.Furthermore,a volcano curve between Ca addition ratio and catalytic activity is found.Introducing Ca significantly increases activity by decreasing the energy barrier,but excessive Ca decreases activity due to hindering substrate adsorption and reaction.

Highly efficient photocatalytic conversion of CO_(2) into CH_(4) over Cu single atom promoted heterojunction:The effect of uplifted d-band center

Photoreduction of CO_(2) to solar fuels has caused great interest,but suffers from low catalytic efficiency and poor selectivity.Herein,we designed a S-scheme heterojunction(Cu-TiO_(2)/WO_(3))with Cu single atom to significantly boost the photoreduction of CO_(2).Notably,the developed Cu-TiO_(2)/WO_(3) achieved the solardriven conversion of CO_(2) to CH_(4) with an evolution rate of 98.69μmol g^(−1) h^(−1),and the electron selectivity of CH_(4) reached 88.5%.The yield was much higher than those of pristine WO_(3),TiO_(2)/WO_(3) and Cu-TiO_(2) samples.Experimental and theoretical analysis suggested that the S-scheme heterojunction accelerated charge migration and inhibited the recombination of electron-hole pairs.Importantly,the charge separation effect of the heterojunction meliorated the position of the d-band.The uplifted d-band centers of Cu and Ti on Cu-TiO_(2)/WO_(3) not only improved the electron interaction between Cu single atoms and substrate-TiO_(2),accelerated the adsorption and activation of CO_(2) on the active sites of Cu single atom,but also optimized the Gibbs free energies of CH 4 formation pathway,leading to excellent selectivity toward CH_(4).This work provides new insights into the design of photocatalyst systems with high photocatalytic performance.

This work investigated the gradient microstructure evolution and tensile property of LPBF fabricated 15-5 precipitation hardening stainless steel in post-process direct ageing(DA)and solution treating&ageing(STA).The varied microstructures for austenite and small-sized oxide inclusions at different sample heights in the as-built(AB)condition was generally preserved after DA treatment.However,austenite was almost disappeared,and oxide particle grew significantly after the STA treatment.As a result,the tensile property differences in sample top and bottom for AB and DA conditions did not occur in the STA samples.For the influence of post-process heat treatment,the STA condition had the highest yield strength due to the highest volume fraction of nano-sized Cu precipitates.However,the DA specimen had the highest ultimate tensile strength and elongation owing to the considerable amount of austenite phase and associated transformation induced plasticity effect.

Biodegradable plastic film mulch (PFM) is considered an alternative to non-biodegradable PFM to mitigate the negative impacts of residual film.However,the agronomic performance of biodegradable PFM in comparison to non-biodegradable PFM still needs to be tested.In this study,we evaluated the effects of biodegradable and non-biodegradable PFM on soil physicochemical properties,microbial community,and enzyme activities,as well as maize growth performance.Biodegradable and non-biodegradable PFM both increased soil temperature,water content,N content,and microbial biomass and maize yield by up to 30%,but decreased soil enzyme activities as compared to no mulching (control,CK).Most soil physicochemical properties,microbial community,and enzyme activities were similar under non-biodegradable and biodegradable PFM at the early stages of maize growth.However,at the late stages,soil temperature,water content,mineral N,NO_(3)^(-)-N,ammonia monooxygenase (AMO) activity,and total phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs) decreased under biodegradable PFM owing to film fragmentation.White PFM increased soil temperature,water content,and total PLFAs at the early stages of maize growth but decreased soil mineral N and total PLFAs at the late stages,as compared to black PFM.As soil temperature and N availability were the major factors affecting soil microbial community,microbial activity decreased after the fragmentation of biodegradable PFM,owing to the decreased soil temperature,water content,and mineral N.Notably,biodegradable PFM could decrease NO_(3)^(-)-N accumulation in topsoil by decreasing N transformation due to the lower microbial and N-related enzyme (e.g.,AMO) activities,compared with non-biodegradable PFM,which may avoid negative environmental impacts,such as NO_(3)^(-)-N leaching or gas emission after harvest.Maize yield,height,aboveground biomass,and N uptake under biodegradable PFM were similar to those under non-biodegradable PFM during maize growth,implying that biodegradable PFM has no negative impact on crop growth a

A series of carbon nitride(CN)materials represented by graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4)have been widely used in bioimaging,biosensing,and other fields in recent years due to their nontoxicity,low cost,and high luminescent quantum efficiency.What is more attractive is that the luminescent properties such as wavelength and intensity can be regulated by controlling the structure at the molecular level.Hence,it is time to summarize the related research on CN structural evolution and make a prospect on future developments.In this review,we first summarize the research history and multiple structural evolution of CN.Then,the progress of improving the luminescence performance of CN through structural evolution was discussed.Significantly,the relationship between CN structure evolution and energy conversion in the forms of photoluminescence,chemiluminescence,and electrochemiluminescence was reviewed.Finally,key challenges and opportunities such as nanoscale dispersion strategy,luminous efficiency improving methods,standardization evaluation,and macroscopic preparation of CN are highlighted.
