Nanocrystallization-locked Network of Poly(styrene-6-isobutylene-6-styrene)-g-Polytetrahydrofuran Block Graft Copolymer

Poly(styrene-6-isobutylene-6-styrene)triblock copolymer(SIBS),a kind of thermoplastic elastomer with biocompatibility and biostability containing fully saturated soft segments,could be synthesized via living cationic copolymerization.A novel poly[(styrene-co-methylstyrene)-b-isobutylene-b-(styrene-co-methylstyrene)]-g-polytetrahydrofuran(M-SIBS-g-PTHF)block graft copolymer was prepared to increase the polarity and service temperature of SIBS by grafting polar PTHF segments onto SIBS.A series of the above block graft copolymers with average grafting numbers from 2 to 6 and molecular weights of PTHF branches ranging from 200 g·mol^(-1)to 4200 g·mol^(-1)were successfully synthesized via living cationic ring-opening polymerization of tetrahydrofuran(THF)coinitiated by AgCI04.The introduction of PTHF branches led to an obvious microphase separation due to thermodynamic incompatibility among the three kinds of segments of polyisobutylene(PIB),polystyrene(PS)and PTHF.Moreover,the microphase separation promotes the rearrangement of PTHF branches to form the nanocrystallization-locked physically cross-linked network after storage at room temperature for 2 months,leading to insolubility of the copolymers even in good solvents.The melting temperature and enthalpy of PTHF nanocrystallization locked in hard domains of M-SIBS-g5-PTHF-1.1k block graft copolymer increased remarkably up to 153℃and 117.0 J·g^(-1)by 23℃and 11.6 J·g^-1(respectively after storage for long time.Storage modulus(G′)is higher than loss modulus(G″)of M-SIBS-g-PTHF block graft copolymer at temperatures ranging from 100℃to 180℃,which is much higher than those of the SIBS triblock copolymer.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first example of high performance M-SIBS-g-PTHF block graft copolymers containing segments of PIB,PS and PTHF with nanocrystallization-locked architecture.

Biocompatible,Hemocompatible and Antibacterial Acylated Dextran-g-polyisobutylene Graft Copolymers with Silver Nanoparticles

The novel amphiphilic acylated dextran-g-polyisobutylene(AcyDex-g-PIB)graft copolymers with different branch lengths(A4nPtB,2600-5800 g/mol)and grafti ng numbers(GN,5-28 per 1000 Dex mono saccharide)were successfully synthesized via the nu cleophilic substitution of the hydroxyl(-OH)side groups along AcyDex backb one by the living PIB-THF4+chai ns prepared through cati onic polymerizatio n.The crystallizati on of AcyDex backb one in AcyDex-g-PIB graft copolymers was con fined due to the prese nee of PIB branches and the morphology changed from short rod-like crystals to fragment-like crystals with increasing Mn P|B and GN.The obvious microphase separation occurred due to the incompatibility between hard AcyDex backbone and soft PIB branches.AcyDex-g-PIB graft copolymers exhibit excellent biocompatibility towards HeLa cells and good hemocompatibility with red blood cells(RBCs),both of which increase with increasing GN.The in creases of water con tact angle and roughness on the surface of the graft copolymers with in creasi ng A4nP|B and GN manifest the anti-protein adsorption performance.The amphiphilic AcyDex-g-PIB graft copolymers could self-assemble in aqueous solution into nanospheres,which can be used as pH-sensitive drug carriers and can release 100%of the loaded drug within 72 h at pH=7.4.AcyDex-g-PIB graft copolymers bearing silver nanoparticles(Ag-NPs,0.8 wt%-3.9 wt%,4.5-9.5 nm)show good antibacterial properties.This kind of amphiphilic graft copolymer would have a promising prospect in biological and medical fields.

Development and evaluation of an online monitoring single-particle optical particle counter with polarization detection

We developed a single-particle optical particle counter with polarization detection(SOPC)for the real-time measurement of the optical size and depolarization ratio(defined as the ratio of the vertical component to the parallel component of backward scattering)of atmospheric particles,the polarization ratio(DR)value can reflect the irregularity of the particles.The SOPC can detect aerosol particles with size larger than 500 nm and the maximum particle count rate reaches~1.8×10^(5)particles per liter.The SOPC uses a modulated polarization laser to measure the optical size of particles according to forward scattering signal and the DR value of the particles by backward S and P signal components.The sampling rate of the SOPC was 106#/(sec·channel),and all the raw data were processed online.The calibration curve was obtained by polystyrene latex spheres with sizes of 0.5-10μm,and the average relative deviation of measurement was 3.96% for sub 3μm particles.T-matrix method calculations showed that the DR value of backscatter light at 120°could describe the variations in the aspect ratio of particles in the above size range.We performed insitu observations for the evaluation of the SOPC,the mass concentration constructed by the SOPC showed good agreement with the PM_(2.5)measurements in a nearby state-controlled monitoring site.This instrument could provide useful data for source appointment and regulations against air pollution.

Preparation, Crystallization and Mechanical Properties of Potassium Aluminosilicate Glass-ceramics

In this study,transparent K_(2)O-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)(KAS)glass-ceramics with leucite as the main crystalline phase were prepared by melting-quench method and two-step heat treatment.The effects of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) ratio and heat treatment on crystallization and mechanical properties were studied.The crystallization kinetics and X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)results showed that SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) ratio and heat treatment system had a direct impact on the crystallization behavior of potassium aluminosilicate glass-ceramics.When heat-treated at 680℃/2 h and 780℃/1 h,cracks generated on the surface of the sample with the addition of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=4.8(in mol)due to the huge difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between glass matrix and surface.When the addition of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)(in mol)was 4,the sample with leucite as the main crystalline phase showed an excellent fracture toughness(1.46 MPa·m^(0.5))after the heat treatment of 680℃/2 h and 780℃/5 h.And there was a phase transformation from kaliophilite to leucite.The crystalline phases of the sample heat-treated at 680℃/8 h and 780℃/1 h were leucite and kaliophilite,which resulted in the visible light transmittance of 63%and the fracture toughness of 0.91 MPa·m^(0.5).Furthermore,after the heat treatment of 680℃/2 h and 780℃/5 h,the main crystalline phase of the sample with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=3.2(in mol)was still kaliophilite.Because leucite only grows on the surface of the sample and is hard to grow inward,it is hard to achieve the bulk crystallization of leucite in the sample with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=3.2(in mol).

A survey on model-based reinforcement learning

Reinforcement learning(RL) interacts with the environment to solve sequential decision-making problems via a trial-and-error approach. Errors are always undesirable in real-world applications, even though RL excels at playing complex video games that permit several trial-and-error attempts. To improve sample efficiency and thus reduce errors, model-based reinforcement learning(MBRL) is believed to be a promising direction, as it constructs environment models in which trial-and-errors can occur without incurring actual costs. In this survey, we investigate MBRL with a particular focus on the recent advancements in deep RL. There is a generalization error between the learned model of a non-tabular environment and the actual environment. Consequently, it is crucial to analyze the disparity between policy training in the environment model and that in the actual environment, guiding algorithm design for improved model learning, model utilization, and policy training. In addition, we discuss the recent developments of model-based techniques in other forms of RL, such as offline RL, goal-conditioned RL, multi-agent RL, and meta-RL. Furthermore,we discuss the applicability and benefits of MBRL for real-world tasks. Finally, this survey concludes with a discussion of the promising future development prospects for MBRL. We believe that MBRL has great unrealized potential and benefits in real-world applications, and we hope this survey will encourage additional research on MBRL.

In this study,online water-soluble inorganic ions were detected to deduce the formation mechanism of secondary inorganic aerosol in Xianyang,China during wintertime.The dominant inorganic ions of sulfate(SO_(4)^(2-)),nitrate(NO_(3)^(-)),and ammonium(NH_(4)^(+))(the sum of those is abbreviated as SNA)accounted for 17%,21%,and 12% of PM_(2.5)mass,respectively.While the air quality deteriorated from excellent to poor grades,the precursor gas sulfur dioxide(SO_(2))of SO_(4)^(2-)increased and then decreased with a fluctuation,while nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2))and ammonia(NH_(3)),precursors of NO_(3)^(-)and NH_(4)^(+),and SNA show increasing trends.Meteorological factors including boundary layer height(BLH),temperature,and wind speed also show decline trends,except relative humidity(RH).Meanwhile,the secondary conversion ratio shows a remarkable increasing trend,indicating that there was a strong secondary transformation.From the perspective of chemical mechanisms,RH is positively correlated with sulfur oxidation ratios(SOR),nitrogen oxidation ratios(NOR),and ammonia conversion ratios,representing that the increase of humidity could promote the generation of SNA.Notably,SOR and NOR were also positively related to the ammonia.On the one hand,the low wind speed and BLH led to the accumulation of pollutants.On the other hand,the increases of RH and ammonia promoted more formations of SNA and PM_(2.5).The results advance our identification of the contributors to the haze episodes and assist to establish more efficient emission controls in Xianyang,in addition to other cities with similar emission and geographical characteristics.

The conversion of chalcogen atoms into other types of chalcogen atoms in transition metal dichalcogenides exhibits significant advantages in tuning the bandgaps and constructing lateral heterojunctions.However,despite atomic defects at the atomic scale were inevitably formed during conversion process,the construction of dislocations remains difficult.Here,we conducted in-situ sulfurization to achieve structural transformation from monolayer WSe2to WS2successfully.We probe these transformations at atomic scale using high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy（HAADF-STEM） and study structural defects of sulfurizedWS2by strain and displacement fields.We discovered that high-quality WSe2flakes were completely sulfurized while dislocations were successfully constructed,manifesting atomic surface roughness and structural disorders.Our work provides insights into designing and optimizing customized Transition metal dichalcogenides（TMDs）materials in controlled synthesis and defect engineering.

Hydroxyapatite/palmitic acid superhydrophobic composite coating on AZ31 magnesium alloy with both corrosion resistance and bacterial inhibition

The coating-modified magnesium(Mg)alloys exhibit controllable corrosion resistance,but the insufficient antibacterial performance limits their clinical applications as degradable implants.Superhydrophobic coatings show excellent performance in terms of both corrosion resistance and inhibition of bacterial adhesion and growth.In this work,a hydroxyapatite(HA)/palmitic acid(PA)superhydrophobic composite coating was fabricated on the Mg alloy by the hydrothermal technique and immersion treatment.The HA/PA composite coating showed superhydrophobicity with a contact angle of 153°and a sliding angle of 2°.The coated Mg alloy exhibited excellent corrosion resistance in the simulated body fluid,with high polarization resistance(77.10 kΩ·cm^(2))and low corrosion current density((0.491±0.015)μA·cm^(-2)).Meanwhile,the antibacterial efficiency of the composite coating was over 98% against E.coli and S.aureus in different periods.The results indicate that the construction of such superhydrophobic composite coating(HA/PA)on the Mg alloy can greatly improve the corrosion resistance of Mg alloy implants within the human body and avoid bacterial infection during the initial stages of implantation.

Robust adaptive radar beamforming based on iterative training sample selection using kurtosis of generalized inner product statistics

In engineering application,there is only one adaptive weights estimated by most of traditional early warning radars for adaptive interference suppression in a pulse reputation interval(PRI).Therefore,if the training samples used to calculate the weight vector does not contain the jamming,then the jamming cannot be removed by adaptive spatial filtering.If the weight vector is constantly updated in the range dimension,the training data may contain target echo signals,resulting in signal cancellation effect.To cope with the situation that the training samples are contaminated by target signal,an iterative training sample selection method based on non-homogeneous detector(NHD)is proposed in this paper for updating the weight vector in entire range dimension.The principle is presented,and the validity is proven by simulation results.
