Concentrations of nitrate and trace elements such as arsenic,cadmium,chromium,copper,manganese,nickel,lead,selenium,antimony and mercury in 18 different brands of bottled water were *** comparison,samples of tap and well water from three different places of Tehran were also ***/VIS spectrophotometer and Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometer were used for the analysis of nitrate and trace elements,*** obtained were compared to Iranian,World Health Organization(WHO)and Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)guideline for drinking *** concentration in bottled,tap and well water samples were in maximum safe nitrate concentration of Iranian and WHO ***,70%of bottled water samples and one sample of tap water were below the standard level proposed by EPA and probably remedial action should be *** levels of all analyzed elements investigated in all examined water samples were below the maximum contaminant level prescribed by Iranian,WHO and EPA regulations.

Carbon dissolution from four types of metallurgical cokes and graphite was investigated by using immersion rods in a resistance furnace to clarify the influence of factors governing the rate of carbon dissolution from carbonaceous materials into Fe-Mn melts at 1550℃.The factors studied were the nmicrostructure of carbonaceous materials,roughness,porosity and the wettability between carbonaceous materials and the ***/metal in terface was characterised by sea nning electron microscopy accompanied with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry to investigate the form at io n of an ash *** results showed that coke E had the highest dissolution *** roughness and porosity of the carbonaceous materials seemed to be dominant factors affecting the dissolution ***,crystallite size did not have a significant effect on the dissolution ***/liquid wettability seemed to affect the initial stage of dissolution *** dissolution mechanism was found to be both mass transfer and interfacial reactions.

The biological and chemical conditions of the rhizosphere are known to considerably differ from those of the bulk soil, as a consequence of a range of processes that are induced either directly by the activity of plant roots or indirectly by the stimulation of microbial population and activity in the rhizosphere. Information about phosphorus （P） fractionation in the rhizosphere soils amended with municipal sewage sludge （MSS） is limited, were We carried out greenhouse experiments using a rhizobox in order to evaluate the effects of bean rhizosphere on the various inorganic P （Pi） fractions, organic P （Po）, P in particulate fraction （PF-P）, Olsen-P, dissolved organic C （DOC）, microbial biomass P （MBP） and alkaline phosphatase （ALP） enzyme in 10 calcareous soils amended with MSS （10 g MSS was added to 1 kg soil）. Non-occluded P, occluded P, calcium phosphate and residual P were also quantitated. The results showed that DOC, MBP and ALP activity strongly increased and PF-P and Olsen-P de- creased in the rhizosphere soils compared with in the bulk soils （P〈0.05）. The contents of non-occluded P, oc- cluded P and residuaI-P fractions in the rhizosphere soils were lower than in the bulk soils, while the contents of calcium phosphate and organic P in the rhizosphere soils were higher than in the bulk soils. Simple correlation coefficients showed that P uptake had positive relationship with non-occluded P, occluded P, calcium phosphate fractions and PF-P in the rhizosphere soils. The results suggest that the short-term application of MSS to the cal- careous soils may increase Po and calcium phosphate fractions in the rhizosphere soils, and calcium phosphate fraction is potentially available to crops.

Some 1-（6-chloroquinoxalin-2-yl）-2-[4-（trifluoromethyl）-2,6-dinitrophenyl] hydrazine derivatives have been synthesized via both conventional and microwave assisted organic synthesis（MAOS） methods. The MAOS method is more effective on synthesizing these compounds than the conventional method in regard to the higher chemical yields of products（76%-98%） and the shorter reaction time（1-15 min）.

Recently,the hole transport layer-free planar perovskite solar cells(HTL-free PSCs)have attracted intense ***,the poor absorption of light in the wavelengths longer than 800 nm is an important challenge in all configurations of *** this study,the HTL-free PSC with a gold rectangular grating at back contact is *** order to improve the performance of the solar cell,effects of grating dimensions and periodicity on the absorption of the active layer are numerically *** the improved condition,an absorption enhancement of 25%in the range of 300–1400 nm is obtained compared with the flat electrode-based *** improvements are attributed to the coupling of light to surface plasmon polariton(SPP)***,the electrical simulation results of the improved solar cell demonstrated short-circuit current density and power conversion efficiency of 27.72 mA/cm2 and 18%,respectively.

Nanocomposites of zinc/bentonite clay were synthesized for use as an antibacterial material by a quick and simple alkaline ion exchange method. The synthesis of zinc doped bentonite nanocomposite was accomplished by placing bentonite in a melting bath of ZnSO4 for 10, 20, 40, 60 and 90 rain. The complexes were characterized by XRD, SEM and DRS. XRD analyses and SEM observations confirmed the diffusion of zinc to the clay surfaces. Antibacterial activity tests against Escherichia coli showed that bentonite did not present any antibacterial properties, but after alkaline ion exchange treatment, inhibition was noted. The highest antibacterial activity was observed with ZnO/bentonite composite alkaline ion exchange for 60 and 90 rain. Interestingly, the leaching test indicated that ZnO/bentonite did not present any risk for drinking water treatment.

An extensive study of Fischer-Tropsch （FT） synthesis on cobalt nano particles supported on γ-alumina and carbon nanotubes （CNTs） catalysts is reported.20 wt% of cobalt is loaded on the supports by impregnation *** deactivation of the two catalysts was studied at 220 C,2 MPa and 2.7 L/h feed flow rate using a fixed bed *** calcined fresh and used catalysts were characterized extensively and different sources of catalyst deactivation were *** of cobalt-support mixed oxides in the form of xCoO yAl2O3 and cobalt aluminates formation were the main sources of the Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst *** sintering and cluster growth of cobalt nano particles are the main sources of the Co/CNTs catalyst *** the case of the Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst,after 720 h on stream of continuous FT synthesis the average cobalt nano particles diameter increased from 15.9 to 18.4 nm,whereas,under the same reaction conditions the average cobalt nano particles diameter of the Co/CNTs increased from 11.2 to 17.8 ***,the initial FT activity of the Co/CNTs was 26% higher than that of the Co/γ-Al2O3,the FT activity over the Co/CNTs after 720 h on stream decreased by 49% and that over the Co/γ-Al2O3 by 32%.For the Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst 6.7% of total activity loss and for the Co/CNTs catalyst 11.6% of total activity loss cannot be recovered after regeneration of the catalyst at the same conditions of the first regeneration *** is concluded that using CNTs as cobalt catalyst support is beneficial in carbon utilization as compared to γ-Al2O3 support,but the Co/CNTs catalyst is more susceptible for deactivation.

In the current study, the settling, interaction, drafting, kissing, and tumbling of two identical and nonidentical circular particles were simulated in a two-dimensional box in shear-thinning, Newtonian,and shear-thickening fluids by using the combined lattice Boltzmann-smoothed profile ***, the drag coefficient of one particle settling for different power-law indexes and Archimedes numbers was calculated. Also, the effect of the diameter ratio of the two particle pairs was considered during settling. The developed method was validated by simulating the settling of one particle and two identical particles in a Newtonian fluid. To consider two non-identical particles, two cases were examined. In Case A, the larger particle was above the smaller one and in the Case B, the smaller particle was above the larger one. The results showed that the two non-identical particles were separated more easily than the identical ones. In the settling of two particles under the same Archimedes number, the drafting and kissing time considerably increased by changing the non-Newtonian fluid behavior from a shearthinning one to a shear-thickening one. Also, when the larger particle was above the smaller one, the time duration of the kissing stage increased with the decrease in the diameter ratio.
