A Review on Hydrocarbon Prospectivity in Chittagong Hill Tracts and Adjacent Area

Bangladesh is a country with limited sources of energy and since 1990 natural gas has been its main source of energy. Most of the exploration approaches had been conducted onshore especially in the central and eastern part of Bangladesh, particularly in northeastern Sylhet basin. Among the hydrocarbon provinces, the East Delta Hill Tract province is an under explored petroleum province in Bangladesh. An exploratory well drilled in Sitakund anticline was found dry but no reasonable cause was perceived why that well went dry. Although many works had been carried out in Chittagong Hill Tracts but none of them was cumulative and descriptive. In this study, the overall hydrocarbon prospect of the Chittagong Hill Tracts was analyzed by mapping of potential zones on the basis of the evaluation of regional structure and construction of lithocolumn of the prospective zones. The five elements of the petroleum system discussed thoroughly to find overall petroleum prospect of the study area. Source rocks of Chittagong Hill Tracts are mainly Bhuban shale, reservoir rock is sandstone from Bhuban-Bokabil formation, the way of migration path is both through longitudinal and cross fault. The data of source rock and seal is collected from previous researches. Multiple types of traps have been found there. Conventional anticlinal traps which are highly disturbed due to tectonic instability & the core part are shale diapirism. Most of the anticlines are plunging and the nose or plunge area might be prospective to HC for being comparatively less faulted. Broad synclinal areas between tight narrow anticlines are another prospective area for HC. These similar types of synclines are also found in Tripura, India which is a highly prospective area for petroleum and their small anticlinal hums within syncline are also prospective. Identification and selection of resistance to Bemisia tabaci among 550 cotton genotypes in the field and greenhouse experiments

Plants have developed sophisticated systems to cope with herbivore challenge, including morphological barriers and secondary metabolites to reduce damage. In this study, 550 Gossypium genotypes were evaluated for whitefly(Bemisia tabaci) resistance in five experiments including two in the field and three in the greenhouse, with23 resistant and 19 susceptible genotypes ***-resistance index determination showed that a leaf having a high density of hairs had resistance to whitfly egg/nymph production. Longer leaf hairs were also important for resistance. This study revealed that okra shaped leaves reduced adult whitefly oviposition preference, while glabrous leaves and high hair density helped not only in the reduction of the adults but also decreased oviposition preference. Gossypol was also observed to be involved in the reduction of adult whitefly development and/or survival.

Identifying and Modeling Non-Functional Concerns Relationships

Requirements elicitation step is of paramount importance in the requirements engineering process. In the distributed environment of so-called inter-company cooperative information system, this step is a thorny issue. To elicit require-ments for an inter-company cooperative information system, we early proposed a methodology called MAMIE (from MAcro to MIcro level requirements Elicitation) with an accompanied tool. In MAMIE methodology, requirements are the result of composing functional and non-functional concerns. Before non-functional concerns composition, it’s primary to identify relationships between them. According to the most existing approaches, a non-functional concern may have a negative, positive or null contribution on the other non-functional concerns. In this paper, we argue that using only these three contributions types is not sufficient to express relationships which may exist between non-functional concerns. Thus, we propose a process which aims to identify non-functional concerns’ relationships and model them using a fuzzy cognitive map. The resulting model is composed of non-functional concerns, relationships between them and the weight of these relationships expressed with linguistics fuzzy values. Using fuzzy cognitive maps to model non-functional concerns relationships allows moving from the conventional modelling toward developing a computer based model. An example from the textile industry is used to illustrate the applicability of our process.

The hotABA-deficiency suppressor2 （has2） mutation increases drought tolerance and the ABA sensitivity of stomata closure and seed germination. Here we report that the HAS2 locus encodes the MITOCHONDRIAL EDITING FACTOR11 （MEF11）, also known as LOVASTATIN INSENSITIVE1. has21mef11 mutants exhibited phenotypes very similar to the ABA-hypersensitive mutant, hail-1 pp2ca-1 hab 1-1 abil-2, which is impaired in four genes encoding type 2C protein phosphatases （PP2C） that act as upstream negative regulators of the ABA signaling cascade. Like pp2c, mef11 plants were more resistant to progressive water stress and seed germination was more sensitive to paclobutrazol （a gibberellin biosynthesis inhibitor） as well as mannitol and NaCI, compared with the wild-type plants. Phenotypic alterations in mef11 were associated with the lack of editing of transcripts for the mitochondrial cytochrome c maturation FN2 （cCmFN2） gene, which encodes a cytochrome c-heme lyase subunit involved in cytochrome c biogenesis. Although the abundance of electron transfer chain complexes was not affected, their dysfunction could be deduced from increased respiration and altered production of hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide in reef11 seeds. As minor defects in mitochondrial respiration affect ABA signaling, this suggests an essential role for ABA in mitochondrial retrograde regulation.

Purification and characterization of cholecystokinin from the skin of salamander Tylototriton verrucosus

As a group of intestinal hormones and neurotransmitters, cholecystokinins（CCKs） regulate and affect pancreatic enzyme secretion, gastrointestinal motility, pain hypersensitivity, digestion and satiety, and generally contain a DYMGWMDFG sequence at the C-terminus. Many CCKs have been reported in mammals. However, only a few have been reported in amphibians, such as Hyla nigrovittata, Xenopus laevis, and Rana catesbeiana, with none reported in urodele amphibians like newts and salamanders. Here, a CCK called CCK-TV was identified and characterized from the skin of the salamander Tylototriton verrucosus. This CCK contained an amino acid sequence of DYMGWMDF-NH2 as seen in other CCKs. A c DNA encoding the CCK precursor containing 129 amino acid residues was cloned from the c DNA library of T. verrucosus skin. The CCK-TV had the potential to induce the contraction of smooth muscle strips isolated from porcine gallbladder, eliciting contraction at a concentration of 5.0x10-11 mol/L and inducing maximal contraction at a concentration of 2.0x10-6 mol/L. The EC50 was 13.6 nmol/L. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report to identify the presence of a CCK in an urodele amphibian.
