Objective This research was performed to evaluate the effect of tebuconazole(TBZ)on reproductive organs of male rats and to assess the protective role of combined essential trace elements in alleviating the detrimental effect of TBZ on male reproductive *** For this purpose,48 rats were exposed to 100 mg/kg TBZ,TBZ supplemented with zinc(Zn),selenium(Se),copper(Cu),and iron(Fe),TBZ+(Se+Zn);TBZ+Cu;or TBZ+*** experiment was conducted for 30 consecutive *** TBZ caused a significant perturbation in mineral levels and reduction in reproductive organs weights,plasma testosterone level,and testicular antioxidant enzyme *** TBZ-treated group also showed a significant increase in sperm abnormalities(count,motility,and viability percent),plasma follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone concentrations,lipid peroxidation,protein oxidation,and severe DNA degradation in comparison with the ***,TBZ caused testis ***,treatment with trace elements,in combination or alone,improved the reproductive organ weights,sperm characteristics,TBZ-induced toxicity,and histopathological modifications in *** TBZ exerts significant harmful effects on male reproductive *** concurrent administration of trace elements reduces testis dysfunction,fertility,and toxicity induced by TBZ.

Objective The current study aimed to elucidate the effect of vanillin on behavioral changes, oxidative stress, and histopathological changes induced by potassium bromate （KBrO3）, an environmental pollutant, in the cerebellum of adult *** The animals were divided into four groups： group 1 served as a control, group 2 received KBrO3, group 3 received KBrO3 and vanillin, and group 4 received only vanillin. We then measured behavioral changes, oxidative stress, and molecular and histological changes in the *** We observed significant behavioral changes in KBrO3-exposed mice. When investigating redox homeostasis in the cerebellum, we found that mice treated with KBrO3 had increased lipid peroxidation and protein oxidation in the cerebellum. These effects were accompanied by decreased Na＋-K＋ and Mg2＋ ATPase activity and antioxidant enzyme gene expression when compared to the control group. Additionally, there was a significant increase in cytokine gene expression in KBrO3-treated mice. Microscopy revealed that KBrO3 intoxication resulted in numerous degenerative changes in the cerebellum that were substantially ameliorated by vanillin supplementation. Modelling the dynamics of stock market in the gulf cooperation council countries:evidence on persistence to shocks

This study examines the statistical properties required to model the dynamics of both the returns and volatility series of the daily stock market returns in six Gulf Cooperation Council countries,namely Bahrain,Oman,Kuwait,Qatar,Saudi Arabia,and the United Arab Emirates,under different financial and economic *** empiri-cal investigation is conducted using daily data from June 1,2005 to July 1,*** analysis is conducted using a set of double long-memory specifications with some significant features such as long-range dependencies,asymmetries in conditional variances,non-linearity,and multiple seasonality or time-varying *** study indicates that the joint dual long-memory process can adequately estimate long-memory dynamics in returns and *** in-sample diagnostic tests as well as out-of-sample forecasting results demonstrate the prevalence of the Autoregressive Fractionally Integrated Moving Average and Hyperbolic Asymmetric Power Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity modeling process over other competing models in fitting the first and the second conditional moments of the market ***,the empirical results show that the proposed model offers an interesting framework to describe the long-range dependence in returns and seasonal persistence to shocks in conditional volatility and strongly support the estimation of dynamic returns that allow for time-varying correlations.A noteworthy finding is that the long-memory dependencies in the conditional variance processes of stock market returns appear important,asymmetric,and differ in their volatility responses to unexpected *** evidence suggests that these markets are not completely efficient in processing regional news,thus providing a sound alternative for regional portfolio diversification.

In this work,we are interested in the synthesis of new hybrid material(C_(6)H_(10)N_(2))(Hg_(2)Cl_(5))_(2)·3H_(2)O grown by hydrothermal methods.X-ray diffraction indicates that this compound crystallizes at 150(2)K in the monoclinic system with C2/c space group,with the following unit cell parameters:a=19:6830(15)Å,b=18:1870(15)Å,c=6:8567(6)Å,β=93:224ð3Þ○and Z=*** the other hand,the optical properties of this compound were studied using ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy in the range 200-800 ***,the optical absorbances are used to determine the absorption coefficientαand the optical band gap E g,so the Tauc model was used to determine the optical gap energy of the compound(C_(6)H_(10)N_(2))(Hg_(2)Cl_(5))_(2)·3H_(2)*** analysis of the results revealed the existence of optical allowed indirect transition mechanisms with the band gap energy equal to(2.37 eV)for liquid and(4.33 eV)for *** measurements indicate that the electrical and dielectric properties are strongly dependent on both temperature and *** plots(Z'' versus Z ')show that the conductivity behavior is accurately represented by an equivalent circuit model which consists of a series combination of bulk and grain ***,the angular frequency dependence plots of the real and imaginary parts,ε' andε'',of complex dielectric permittivityε*and tanδlosses at several temperatures between 303 and 453 K were studied for the title ***,the modulus plots can be characterized by the presence of two relaxation peaks.

Cytokine and apoptosis gene polymorphisms influence the outcome of hepatitis C virus infection

BACKGROUND:Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is thought to be chronic and the factors leading to viral clearance or persistence are poorly *** study was undertaken to investigate the possibility of a significant relationship between the spontaneous clearance or the persistence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and cytokine and apoptosis gene polymorphisms in Tunisian patients on ***:Polymorphisms of the genes IL-1 (-889 IL-1α,-511 and +3954 IL-1β,IL-1Ra),IL-18 (-137 and-607),IL-12 (-1188) and Apo1/Fas (-670) were determined by PCR-RFLP,PCR-SSP and PCR-VNTR in 100 healthy blood donors and 100 patients infected with HCV and undergoing *** patients were classified into two groups:G1 consisted of 76 active chronic hepatitis patients (positive for HCV RNA) and G2 consisted of 24 hemodialysed patients who spontaneously eliminated the virus (negative for HCV RNA).RESULTS:The frequency of genotype association [-137GC/-607CA] IL-18 was higher in G2 (41.7%) than in G1 (15.8%) (P=0.008;OR=0.26;95% CI,0.10-0.73).We also found a higher frequency of the AA genotype of the Apo1/Fas gene in G2 (41.6%) than in G1 (17.5%) (P=0.026;OR=3.49;95% CI,1.13-10.69).Adjustment for known covariate factors (age,gender and genotype) confirmed these univariate findings and revealed that the genotype association GC-CA of the (-137 and-607) IL-18 gene and the AA genotype of the Apo1/Fas gene were associated with the clearance of HCV (P=0.041 and 0.017,respectively).CONCLUSION:The two genotypes GC-CA of the (-137 and-607) IL-18 polymorphism and the AA genotype of the Apo1/Fas gene influence the outcome of HCV infection in Tunisian patients on hemodialysis.

A novel t(3;12)(q21;p13) translocation in a patient with accelerated chronic myeloid leukemia after imatinib and nilotinib therapy

The acquisition of secondary chromosomal aberrations in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) karyotype signifies clonal evolution associated with the progression of the disease to its accelerated or blastic phase. Therefore, these aberrations have clinical and biological significance. T(3;12)(q26;p13), which is a recurrent chromosomal aberration observed in myeloid malignancies, is typically associated with dysplasia of megakaryocytes, multilineage involvement, short duration of any blastic phase, and extremely poor prognosis. We have identified a recurrent reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 3 and 12 with different breakpoint at bands 3q21 in the malignant cells from a 28-year-old man. The patient was initially diagnosed as having Ph+ CML in the chronic phase. The t(3;12)(q21;p13) translocation occurred 4 years after the patient was first diagnosed with CML while undergoing tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy. We confirmed the t(3;12)(q21;p13) translocation via fluorescence in situ hybridization assay by using whole-chromosome paint probes for chromosomes 3 and 12. Our findings demonstrate that, similar to other recurrent translocations involving 3q26 such as t(3;3) and t(3;21), the t(3;12)(q21;p13) translocation is implicated not only in myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia but also in the progression of CML. These findings extend the disease spectrum of this cytogenetic aberration.

Effects of Salicylic Acid on the Growth and Some Physiological Characters in Salt Stressed Tomato Plants （ Solanum L ycopersicum）

Excessive soil salinity is an important constraint limiting the distribution of plants in natural habitats, and is an increasingly severe agricultural problem in arid and semi-arid regions. Higher salinity levels caused significant reduction in growth parameters like leaf area, leaf length and root and shoot dry weight. Salicylic acid （SA）, a plant phenolic is now considered as a hormone-like endogenous regulator, and its role in the defence mechanisms against biotic stressors has been well documented. In recent years its role has been widely investigated in abiotic stress （salinity, drought, water deficit and so on）. The aim of the present work was to study the effects of salicylic acid on growth and some physiological characters of salt stressed tomato plants. The presence of salicylic acid at low concentration （0.01 mM） in culture medium riched with NaCl 100 mM （6 g·L^-1） improves the tolerance of tomato cv. Golden Sunrise to salinity. This amelioration results in stimulation of growth and development of plants. The applied of SA in saline medium induce：（i） an increase in chlorophyll content; （ii） a better supply of essential elements in plant growth, such as K＋; （iii） a decrease in toxic ions such Na＋ and CI in aerial organs; and （iv） an additional synthesis of organic solutes and osmoprotectors like proline and proteins. All these results suggest that salicylic acid could be successfully used in alleviating depressive effects of salt on the productivity of the cultivated tomato.

Lyapunov-Based Dynamic Neural Network for Adaptive Control of Complex Systems

In this paper, an adaptive neuro-control structure for complex dynamic system is proposed. A recurrent Neural Network is trained-off-line to learn the inverse dynamics of the system from the observation of the input-output data. The direct adaptive approach is performed after the training process is achieved. A lyapunov-Base training algorithm is proposed and used to adjust on-line the network weights so that the neural model output follows the desired one. The simulation results obtained verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

Adaptive Internal Model Control of a DC Motor Drive System Using Dynamic Neural Network

This work concerns the study of problems relating to the adaptive internal model control of DC motor in both cases conventional and neural. The most important aspects of design building blocks of adaptive internal model control are the choice of architectures, learning algorithms, and examples of learning. The choice of parametric adaptation algorithm for updating elements of the conventional adaptive internal model control shows limitations. To overcome these limitations, we chose the architectures of neural networks deduced from the conventional models and the Levenberg-marquardt during the adjustment of system parameters of the adaptive neural internal model control. The results of this latest control showed compensation for disturbance, good trajectory tracking performance and system stability.
