Genetic characterization of Northeast Asian cattle based on sequence polymorphisms in the complete mitochondrial genome

In this study, we analyzed complete mtDNA sequences variation and genetic relationship among taurine, indicine and Bison groups. In total, 107 sequences from different breeds, 45 European (45 Italian), 16 Middle East Asian (seven Iranian and nine Iraqi), 41 Northeast Asian (34 Korean and seven Japanese), two Nellore (Bos indicus) and two American Bison bison (Ame. bison) were obtained from Gen-Bank database. One Korean Hanwoo (Bos taurus) sequence was generated using the SOLiDTM System. In total, 1370 polymorphic sites, representing 8.39% of the complete 107 mtDNA sequences (16,338 bp) were detected and of these, 1186 parsimony informative polymorphic sites were identified. Neighbor-joining tree indicated that Korean, Japanese, Iranian, Iraqi, and Italian cattle were closely related to one another, but are separated from B. Bison. The B. taurus mtDNA polymorphism was greater in the D-loop than in the other regions. The ATP8, ND3, ND5, and ND6 regions were also quite parsimony informative, similar to Cyt b. In addition, this study revealed a distinct genetic difference between Korean cattle and B. indicus.

Scaling correction approaches for reducing delocalization error in density functional approximations

Delocalization error associated with the presently used density functional approximations is one of the main sources of errors which plague density functional theory calculations. In this paper, we give a comprehensive review on scaling correction(SC) approaches developed recently for reducing the delocalization error. The global and local SC approaches impose the rigorous Perdew-Parr-Levy-Balduz condition that the total electronic energy should scale linearly between integer electron numbers, on systems involving global and local fractional electron distributions, respectively. After presenting the theoretical background and mathematical formulation of scaling corrections, we demonstrate that they lead to universal alleviation of delocalization error. This is exemplified by the substantial improvement for the prediction of a wide range of electronic properties, including Kohn-Sham frontier orbital energies and band gaps, dissociation behavior of molecules, reaction barriers, electric polarizabilities, and charge-transfer species. The encouraging performances of SC approaches highlight their practicality and usefulness, and also affirm that an explicit treatment of fractional electron distributions is essentially important for reducing the intrinsic delocalization error. The existing limitations, the remaining challenges, and the future perspectives of SC are also discussed. Moreover, the SC approaches are compared with some existing methods attempting to remove the self-interaction error, such as the Perdew-Zunger self-interaction correction, the local hybrid hyper-generalized gradient approximations, and the rangeseparated density functional approximations. The unique advantages of SC suggest that it could open a novel and potentially paradigm-changing route for advancing density functional theory methods towards chemical accuracy.

This work focuses on analysis of microstructure morphology and crystallographic orientation for Ti-17 alloy during hot *** results show that alpha phase and beta phase influence each other and there is a coordinate deformation between *** non-uniform deformation is observed under small deformation *** observing area can be divided into small deformation zone(area L)and large deformation zone(area H).Both alpha and beta phases remain the initial morphology,and they have better capability of coordinate deformation in area L,while coordinate capability is weak in area H in which alpha phase is ***,the Burgers orientation relations are well preserved in area L,but the orientation relations are more or less destroyed in area *** recovery is the main mechanism of beta phase evolution when height reduction is *** contrast,the continuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX)of beta phase gradually dominates the deformation pattern as the deformation *** uniformly globularized alpha structure is obtained under large deformation *** unsynchronized rotation of alpha phase aroundpole occurs during deformation,which leads to the uniform crystal structure inside the same alpha *** process is an important step of globularization of the lamellar structure.

Detecting Icing on the Blades of a Wind Turbine Using a Deep Neural Network

The blades of wind turbines located at high latitudes are often covered with ice in late autumn and winter,where this affects their capacity for power generation as well as their *** identifying the icing of the blades of wind turbines in remote areas is thus important,and a general model is needed to this *** paper proposes a universal model based on a Deep Neural Network(DNN)that uses data from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA)*** datasets from SCADA are first preprocessed through undersampling,that is,they are labeled,normalized,and *** features of icing of the blades of a turbine identified in previous studies are then used to extract training data from the training dataset.A middle feature is proposed to show how a given feature is correlated with icing on the *** indicators for the model,including a reward function,are also designed to assess its predictive ***,the most suitable model is used to predict the testing data,and values of the reward function and the predictive accuracy of the model are *** proposed method can be used to relate continuously transferred features with a binary status of icing of the blades of the turbine by using variables of the middle *** results here show that an integrated indicator systemis superior to a single indicator of accuracy when evaluating the prediction model.

The Relationship between Depression and Negative Cognitive Bias in Late Pregnancy Women and Its Influencing Factors

Objective:In recent years,psychological problems in pregnant women have become an important public health *** is a common psychological problem during *** present,most studies focus on prenatal depression in pregnant women,and there is a lack of relevant studies on prenatal negative cognition and its relationship with *** study aims to examine the relationship between depression and negative cognitive bias in women in late pregnancy and identify the influencing ***:A total of 829 women in late pregnancy were recruited from a tertiary hospital between April 2023 and October *** survey included the General Information Questionnaire for Women in Late Pregnancy,the Negative Cognitive Processing Bias Scale,and the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression *** statistics and theχ^(2) test were employed for univariate analysis of depression among these *** correlation analysis assessed the relationship between depression scores and negative cognitive bias *** linear regression analysis,with depression as the dependent variable,was used to identify the influencing factors of depression in late ***:The detection rate of depression was 26.3%.Planned pregnancy emerged as a protective factor against depression in the third trimester(OR=0.481).Conversely,negative life events during pregnancy and negative memory bias were identified as significant risk factors(OR=2.880,1.146).Conclusion:The prevalence of depression in the third trimester is notably high,with pronounced negative memory *** providers should prioritize the mental health of pregnant women,particularly those with deep and repetitive recollections of negative events,by enhancing psychological monitoring and treatment.

Progression of e-ticketing implementation for state transportation agencies for asphalt materials

E-ticketing,which has been promoted by the Federal Highway Administration(FHWA)“every day counts”(EDC)initiative,utilizes software applications to digitally track and store information regarding highway construction materials paid by state transportation agencies(STAs)by weight in unit bid contract *** often face implementation barriers such as institutional inertia,or the resistance by stakeholders to adopt changes from the status quo,including new *** purpose of this paper is to determine the progression of STA e-ticketing policy adoption,specifically with a focus on asphalt paving operations,due to the COVID-19 *** accomplish this research effort,previous FHWA data,National Cooperative Highway Research Program(NCHRP)data,and other literatures are reviewed to determine an implementation *** data is collected from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Committee on Con-struction to gain current feedback from STAs and their highway contractor partners after the COVID-19 ***,a case study featuring the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet(KYTC),the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors(KAHC),and the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky(PAIKY)is performed to provide more in-depth *** major finding includes a statistically significant result indicating increased imple-mentation of e-ticketing for asphalt operations within the last two years,along with noting benefits including employee safety,task loading,and project documentation along with concerns regarding cellular connectivity and procurement *** findings indicate the importance of STAs investing in partnership with con-tractors to improve stakeholder buy-in before proceeding towards e-ticketing adoption.
