This work mainly studies the effect of fluid phase momentum transfer mechanisms on the acidizing results,including the retardation effect of the porous structure and the interaction between the fluid phase,such as viscous dissipation and inertial effect.The results show that the acid fluid momentum transfer is influenced by the complex porous structure and fluid viscous dissipation.Eventually,the Stokes-Darcy equation is recommended to be adopted to describe the fluid phase momentum transfer in the following numerical simulation studies of the carbonate acidizing process.Based on this model,a parametric research is carried out to investigate the impact of acid on rock physical characteristics in the stimulation process.Increasing the acid concentration appears to minimize the quantity of acid consumed for the breakthrough.The acid surface reaction rate has a considerable impact on the pore volume to breakthrough and the optimum acid injection rate.The influence of permeability on the acidizing results basically shows a negative correlation with the injection rate.The difference between the acidizing curves of different permeability gradually becomes insignificant with the decrease in injection rate.The existence of isolated fracture and vug significantly reduces acid consumption for the breakthrough.

Recently,two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides,particularly WS_(2),raised extensive interest due to its extraordi-nary physicochemical properties.With the merits of low costs and prominent properties such as high anisotropy and distinct crystal structure,WS_(2) is regarded as a competent substitute in the construction of next-generation environmentally benign energy storage and conversion devices.In this review,we begin with the fundamental studies of the structure,properties and preparation of WS_(2),followed by detailed discussions on the development of various WS_(2) and WS_(2)-based composites for electrochemical energy storage and conversion applications.In the end,some prospective prospects and promising develop-ments of WS_(2) in these fields are proposed.

Zearalenone(ZEA),a mycotoxin produced mainly by fungi belonging to Fusarium species in foods and feeds,causes a serious hazard to humans and animals.Numerous studies have revealed that ingesting ZEA can disrupt the reproductive function and impair the reproductive process in animals.This experiment was to investigate the toxicological effect and the mechanism of ZEA exposure on reproduction in pigs during early stages of pregnancy.In the present study,we treated with 0 to 80μmol/L ZEA for 12 or 24 h in trophoblast ectoderm(pTr)cells.The results showed that ZEA had significantly decreased cell proliferation(P<0.05),which was accompanied by DNA damage-related cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase,activation of the apoptosis and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress,as well as impairment of barrier function(P<0.05).Western blot analysis and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)showed that exposure to ZEA can activation of autophagy in pTr cells.Importantly,pretreatment with chloroquine(CQ)or 3-methyladenine(3-MA)led to increased apoptosis in pTr cells.Interestingly,pTr cells pretreated with 4-phenylbutyric acid(4-PBA),an inhibitor of ER stress,resulted in reduced cell death in pTr cells,indicating a critical role for ER stress in the activation of autophagy.In conclusion,these results reveal that ZEA-triggered ER stress is critical for the cell fate decision of pTr cells during early porcine embryonic development.Application of small molecules with ability of blocking ER stress might be therapeutic option to reduce the deleterious effect of ZEA in pregnant animals.

BACKGROUND Celecoxib has been used to treat hip discomfort and functional difficulties associated with osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH),although significant adverse reactions often follow long-term use.Extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)can delay the progression of ONFH,alleviate the pain and functional limitations it causes,and avoid the adverse effects of celecoxib.AIM To investigate the effects of individual ESWT,a treatment alternative to the use of celecoxib,in alleviating pain and dysfunction caused by ONFH.METHODS This was a randomized,controlled,double-blinded,non-inferiority trial.We examined 80 patients for eligibility in this study;8 patients were excluded based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.A total of 72 subjects with ONFH were randomly assigned to group A(n=36;celecoxib+alendronate+sham-placebo shock wave)or group B(n=36;individual focused shock wave[ESWT based on magnetic resonance imaging three-dimensional(MRI-3D)reconstruction]+alendronate).The outcomes were assessed at baseline,at the end of treatment,and at an 8-wk follow-up.The primary outcome measure was treatment efficiency after 2 wk of intervention using the Harris hip score(HHS)(improvement of 10 points or more from the baseline was deemed sufficient).Secondary outcome measures were post-treatment HHS,visual analog scale(VAS),and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)scores.RESULTS After treatment,the pain treatment efficiency of group B was greater than that of group A(69%vs 51%;95%CI:4.56%to 40.56%),with non-inferiority thresholds of-4.56%and-10%,respectively.Furthermore,the HHS,WOMAC,and VAS scores in group B dramatically improved during the follow-up period as compared to those in group A(P<0.001).After therapy,the VAS and WOMAC in group A were significantly improved from the 2nd to 8th wk(P<0.001),although HHS was only significantly altered at the 2 wk point(P<0.001).On the 1st d and 2nd wk after treatment,HHS and VAS scores were different between groups,with the difference in HHS lastin

The two-phase flow past a square is a ubiquitous phenomenon widely encountered in industries and engineering,where the interaction of disparate phases coupled with the influence of the solid is rather complicated.In this context,the flow characteristics and the vortex field are investigated to reveal the mechanisms of the two-phase drag and the vortex variation.The lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)is utilized to study the multi-component two-phase flow.The computation implemented on the GPU is remarkably accelerated thanks to the natural parallelism of the LBM.The process of the two-phase flow past a square is thoroughly examined.The drag and lift forces,including the total force and the components caused by the dispersed phase and the continuous phase,respectively,are obtained,and their variation mechanisms are explained.Meanwhile,the vortex-identification approaches based on the Liutex as well as the traditional methods are compared.The relationship between the bubble breakup and coalescence processes and the extremums of different vortex identification variables is analyzed.

High-entropy oxides(HEOs)have received significant attention because of their tunable mechanical properties and wide range of functional applications.However,the conventional method used for sintering HEOs requires prolonged processing time,which results in excessive grain growth,thereby compromising their performance.Here,an ultrafast high-temperature sintering(UHS)strategy was adopted,and rock-salt composite(Mg_(0.2)Co_(0.2)Ni_(0.2)Cu_(0.2)Zn_(0.2))O was selected as model materials.Experimental parameters were tuned to illustrate the influence of applied current and soaking time on the densification process and resulting grain size.Additionally,the electrochemical performance of UHS-synthesized microparticles as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries was investigated.The results show that the ultrafast heating rate results in fine grains with a diameter of~6–8μm and density of 95%,which are much smaller and similar to those obtained using the conventional sintering method(25μm and 96%).Moreover,the high surface area and reactivity of the microparticles,as well as their sluggish diffusion effect and structural stability,contribute to outstanding performance with high capacity(336 mA·h/g at 1 A/g)and ultralong cyclability(1000 cycles).This novel technique offers valuable insights into the densification process of HEOs and other materials and can thus broaden their application range.

With narrow red photoluminescence (PL) bands, tetravalent Mn^(4+) doped phosphors show promising prospect in commercial application to effectively expand color gamut of phosphor converted LED displays. Here, we report a type of Sr_(2-z)Mg_(1+y)Y_(z)Al_(22-x)O_(36):xMn^(4+) phosphors with regular cage-like micro-spherical morphologies. The micron size spherical precursors were synthesized with a propylene oxide (PO) driven fast sol–gel method. The cage -like spherical morphology is beneficial to efficiently trapping much incident light to enhance the PL of the phosphors. Being calcined at 1300 ℃, Sr_(2)MgAl_(21.978)O_(36):0.022Mn^(4+) only exhibits the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of 24.91%. With the Mg^(2+)-Mn^(4+) codoping and Y^(3+)/Sr^(2+) substituting strategies, to fulfill charge balance and produce John-Teller distortion, IQE of Sr_(2-z)Mg_(1+y)Y_(z)Al_(22-x)O_(36):xMn^(4+) can be further improved up to 36.45%. The CIE color coordinates of Sr_(2-z)Mg_(1+y)Y_(z)Al_(22-x)O_(36):xMn^(4+) under near ultraviolet excitation can be stably fixed to (0.723, 0.227) at deep red region. It thus finds a potential application as pc-LED display with much broader color gamut than that of the NTSC standard. Therefore, Sr_(2-z)Mg_(1+y)Y_(z)Al_(22-x)O_(36):xMn^(4+) micron size spheres can be employed as promising red phosphors for high performance LED displays.

Autophagy has been shown to play an important role in Parkinson’s disease.We hypothesized that skin-derived precursor cells exhibit neuroprotective effects in Parkinson’s disease through affecting autophagy.In this study,6-hydroxydopamine-damaged SH-SY5Y cells were pretreated with a culture medium containing skin-derived precursors differentiated into Schwann cells(SKP-SCs).The results showed that the SKP-SC culture medium remarkably enhanced the activity of SH-SY5Y cells damaged by 6-hydroxydopamine,reduced excessive autophagy,increased tyrosine hydroxylase expression,reducedα-synuclein expression,reduced the autophagosome number,and activated the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Autophagy activator rapamycin inhibited the effects of SKP-SCs,and autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine had the opposite effect.These findings confirm that SKP-SCs modulate the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway to inhibit autophagy,thereby exhibiting a neuroprotective effect in a cellular model of Parkinson’s disease.This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Laboratory Animal Center of Nantong University(approval No.S20181009-205)on October 9,2018.
