Pipelines are one of the most important modern energy transportation methods,used especially for the transportation of certain dangerous energy media materials such as crude oil,natural gas,and chemical raw *** requirements have been put forward for the health monitoring and early security warning of pipelines because of the large-scale and complicated development trend of the pipe network *** achieve an accurate assessment of the health conditions of pipeline infrastructure,obtaining as many precise operating parameters as possible,particularly at some critical parts of the pipeline,is ***,a novel type of fiber grating strain sensor array is proposed herein to monitor the pipeline hoop *** sensor utilizes fiber grating characteristics such as light weight,corrosion resistance,remote transmission,and strong environmental *** fiber containing the grating measurement points is implanted into the composite material to complete the sensitization encapsulation and protection of the bare fiber *** design of the sensor array fulfills the requirements for monitoring pipeline mass data,making it easy to form a pipeline health monitoring sensor *** sensor sensitivity is researched by using a combination of theoretical and experimental analysis.A sensitivity test,as well as linearity and stability tests,are performed on the *** experimental results show that the average sensitivity of the sensor is 14.86 pm/με,and the error from the theoretical calculation analysis value is 8.75%.Due to its high reliability,good linear response and long-term stability,and the ability to reflect the exact strain change of the outer wall of the pipeline,the designed sensor can support longterm online pipeline *** fiber grating sensor array network has successfully realized the monitoring of the pipeline’s internal operation by using external strain *** addition to the performance benefits,there are other

The spring Yellow Sea fog：synoptic and air–sea characteristics associated with different airflow paths

The fog occurs frequently over the Yellow Sea in spring（April–May）, a climatical period of Asian monsoon transition. A comprehensive survey of the characteristic weather pattern and the air-sea condition is provided associated with the fog for the period of 1960–2006. The sea fog is categorized by airflow pathways of backward trajectory cluster analysis with the surface observations derived from international comprehensive oceanatmosphere dataset（I_COADS） I_COADS datasets and contemporaneous wind fields from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction（NCEP）/National Center for Atmospheric Research（NCAR） reanalysis. On the basis of the airflow paths, the large-scale lower-tropospheric circulation patterns and the associated surface divergence,the distribution of a vertical humidity, the horizontal water vapor transportation and the air-sea temperature difference are investigated and the major findings are summarized as follows.（1） Four primary clusters of the airflow paths that lead to spring sea fog formation are identified. They are originated from the northwest, east,southeast and southwest of the Yellow Sea, respectively.（2） Springtime Yellow Sea fog occurs under two typical weather patterns： the Yellow Sea high（YSH） and cyclone and anticyclone couplet（CAC）. Each pattern appears by about equal chance in April but the YSH occurrence drops to around one third and the CAC rises to around two third of chance in May.（3） The common feature in the two types of synoptic conditions is that surface divergence center is located over the Yellow Sea.（4） For the YSH type of fog, water vapor comes mainly from local evaporation with a well-defined dry layer present in the lower atmosphere; for the CAC type of fog, however, water vapor comes mainly from areas outside the Yellow Sea with a thick surface layer of high humidity.（5） With the differences in weather patterns and its associated vertical distribution of the humidity and the transportation of water vapor, there are

Secret key generation(SKG)is an emerging technology to secure wireless communication from ***,the SKG at the physical layer is an alternate solution over traditional cryptographic methods due to wireless channels’***,the physical layer secret key generation(PHY-SKG)depends on two fundamental parameters,i.e.,coherence time and power *** coherence time for PHY-SKG is not applicable to secure wireless *** is because coherence time is for a certain period of ***,legitimate users generate the secret keys(SKs)with a shorter key length in ***,an attacker can quickly get information about the ***,the attacker can easily get valuable information from authentic ***,we considered the scheme of power allocation to enhance the secret key generation rate(SKGR)between legitimate ***,we propose an alternative method,i.e.,a power allocation,to improve the *** results show 72%higher SKGR in bits/sec by increasing power *** addition,the power transmission is based on two important parameters,i.e.,epsilon and power loss factor,as given in power transmission *** found out that a higher value of epsilon impacts power transmission and subsequently impacts the *** SKGR is approximately 40.7%greater at 250 from 50 mW at epsilon=*** value of SKGR is reduced to 18.5%at 250 mW when epsilonis ***,the transmission power is also measured against the different power loss factor values,i.e.,3.5,3,and 2.5,respectively,at epsilon=***,it is concluded that the value of epsilon and power loss factor impacts power transmission and,consequently,impacts the SKGR.

Dioxyxanthones from Polygala hongkongensis and Their Cytotoxicity

Two new dioxyxanthones, polyhongkongenoxanthones A and B（1 and 2） were isolated from the herbs of Polygala hongkongensis, together with six known xanthones. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence. The isolates were tested for their cytotoxicity against three tumor cell lines（HepG2, GLC-82 and MCF-7, HepG2=human hepatocellular carcinoma cells; GLC-82=human lung carcinoma cells; MCF-7= human breast carcinoma cells） by MTT assay, among which polyhongkongenoxanthone B（2）, 1,7-dihydroxy-2,3- methylenedioxyxanthone（3） and 1,7-dihydroxy-3,4,8-trimethoxyxanthone（6） are potential antitumor candidate due to their significant cytotoxic effects on the three cell lines..

This study aims to investigate the effects of heat treatments on the microstructure ofγ-TiAl *** Ti-47Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy ingots were manufactured by casting method and then heat-treated in two types of heat *** microstructures were studied by both optical and scanning electron *** chemical compositions of two ingots were determined as *** ingot with lower Al content only obtains lamellar structures while the one higher in Al content obtains nearly lamellar and duplex structures after heat treatment within1270 to 1185℃.A small amount of B2 phase is found to be precipitated in both as-cast and heat-treated *** are distributed at grain boundaries when holding at a higher temperature,such as 1260℃.However,B2 phase is precipitated at grain boundaries and in colony interiors simultaneously after heat treatments happened at 1185℃.Furthermore,the effects of heat treatments on grain refinement and other microstructural parameters are discussed.

Comparison of sexual compatibility in crosses between the southern and northern populations of the cabbage beetle Colaphellus bowringi

It is widely accepted that the genetic divergence and reproductive incompat- ibility between closely related species and/or populations is often viewed as an important step toward speciation. In this study, sexual compatibility in crosses between the southern XS population and the northern TA population of the polyandrous cabbage beetle Co- laphellus bowringi was investigated by testing their mating preferences, mating latency, copulation duration, and reproductive performances of post-mating. In choice mating ex- periments, the percentages ofmatings were significantly higher in intra-population crosses than in inter-population crosses. Both isolation index （/） and index of pair sexual isolation （/PSi） indicated partial mating incompatibility or assortative mating in crosses between the two different geographical populations. In single pair mating experiments, XS females in inter-population crosses mated significantly later and copulated significantly shorter than those in intra-population crosses. However, TA females in inter-population crosses mated significantly earlier and copulated longer than those in intra-population crosses, suggesting that larger XS males may enhance heterotypic mating. The lifetime fecundity was highest in XS homotypic matings, lowest in TA homotypic matings, and intermedi- ate in heterotypic rnatings between their parents. The inter-population crosses resulted in significantly lower egg hatching rate and shorter female longevity than intra-population crosses. These results demonstrated that there exist some incompatibilities in premating, postmating-prezygotic, and postzygotic stages between the southern XS population and northern TA population of the cabbage beetle Colaphellus bowringi.
