Introduction A novel large-volume spherical proportional counter(SPC)aims at relatively large target masses with low threshold,low background,and possible particle identification,with an extremely simple and robust *** In this paper,we present some progress on the study of such a kind of detector,with a prototype in Beijing for alpha neutron measurement and long-term running *** Preliminary understanding was achieved with a SPC *** can measure alpha and neutron and show the capability of particle ***-term running of the detector shows that it is a good stable *** It needs more tests and studies to reach lower energy region,better particle identification,more understanding of efficiency,*** The SPC,in principle,is capable of detecting very low energy nuclear recoils(in the few tens keV energy region)and smaller energy with lower pressure,thus being a very good candidate for rare event searches.

A database system,known as the large PMT characterization and instrumentation database system(LPMT-CIDS),was designed and implemented for the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO).The system is based on a Linux+Apache+MySQL+PHP(LAMP)server and focuses on modularization and architecture *** covers all the testing stages for the 20-inch photomultiplier tubes(PMTs)at JUNO and provides its users with data storage,analysis,and visualization *** on the successful use of the system in the 20-inch PMT testing program,its design approach and construction elements can be extended to other projects.

分析了区域算法中SAD在非纹理区域容易产生错误匹配的缺点,提出了一种利用邻域边界差值模板的彩色图像立体匹配新算法。该算法利用了图像的边界信息来动态选择基准点邻域范围内的边界点,以该点为中心取一像素邻域作为伴随窗,将伴随窗的颜色信息加入到评价函数中以达到减少非纹理区域错误匹配目的。该算法的实验结果通过Middlebury网站评测,证明能够得到浓密视差图的同时有效地减少了非纹理区域的错误匹配。而且该算法简单易于实现,精度较高,具有良好的匹配效率。

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Located at the southern boundary of the tropical rainfall belt within the South Africa monsoon regime,Rodrigues Island,~2500 km east of East Africa,is ideally located to investigate climatic changes over the southwest Indian Ocean(SWIO).In this study,we investigate the climatic controls of its modern interannual rainfall variability in terms of teleconnection and local *** find that increased rainfall over the SWIO tends to occur in association with anomalously warm(cold)SSTs over the equatorial central Pacific(Maritime Continent),resembling the central Pacific El Niño,closely linked with the Victoria mode in the North *** analyses show that the low-level convergence induced by warm SST over the equatorial central Pacific leads to anomalous low-level divergence over the Maritime Continent and convergence over a large area surrounding the Rodrigues Island,which leads to increased rainfall over the SWIO during the rainy ***,the excited Rossby wave along the tropical Indian Ocean transports more water vapor from the tropical convergence zone into the SWIO via intensified northwest ***,positive feedback induced by the Rossby wave response to the increased rainfall in the region contributes to the large interannual variations over the SWIO.

In silico screening of Chinese herbal medicines with the potential to directly inhibit 2019 novel coronavirus

Objective: In this study we execute a rational screen to identify Chinese medical herbs that are commonly used in treating viral respiratory infections and also contain compounds that might directly inhibit 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV), an ongoing novel coronavirus that causes ***: There were two main steps in the screening process. In the first step we conducted a literature search for natural compounds that had been biologically confirmed as against sever acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus or Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus. Resulting compounds were cross-checked for listing in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology *** meeting both requirements were subjected to absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion(ADME) evaluation to verify that oral administration would be effective. Next, a docking analysis was used to test whether the compound had the potential for direct 2019-nCoV protein *** the second step we searched Chinese herbal databases to identify plants containing the selected compounds. Plants containing 2 or more of the compounds identified in our screen were then checked against the catalogue for classic herbal usage. Finally, network pharmacology analysis was used to predict the general in vivo effects of each selected ***: Of the natural compounds screened, 13 that exist in traditional Chinese medicines were also found to have potential anti-2019-nCoV activity. Further, 125 Chinese herbs were found to contain 2 or more of these 13 compounds. Of these 125 herbs, 26 are classically catalogued as treating viral respiratory infections. Network pharmacology analysis predicted that the general in vivo roles of these26 herbal plants were related to regulating viral infection, immune/inflammation reactions and hypoxia ***: Chinese herbal treatments classically used for treating viral respiratory infection might contain direct anti-2019-nCoV compounds.

X-ray imaging technologies such as digital radiography(DR),is an important aspect of modern non-destructive testing and medical *** flexible X-ray detector technologies have recently been proposed and are now receiving increasing attention owing to their superior material flexibility compared with traditional flat-panel *** work aims to study these innovative flexible X-ray detectors in terms of their effectiveness in DR imaging,such as detection efficiency and spatial *** achieve this goal,first,a Monte Carlo model was developed and calibrated to an in-lab 150 kV DR imaging system containing a flat-panel X-ray ***,the validated model was updated with various types of flexible X-ray detectors to assess their performance in nearly realistic *** parameters such as the detection efficiency pertaining to the crystal material and thickness were studied and analyzed across a broader energy range up to 662 ***,the imaging performance of the different detectors was evaluated and compared to that of the flat-panel detector in the 150 kV DR imaging *** results show that the flexible detectors such as the CsPbBr3crystal detector deliver promising performance in X-ray imaging and can be applied to a wider range of application scenarios,especially those requiring accurate detection at challenging angles.

Owing to the complex lithology of unconventional reservoirs,field interpreters usually need to provide a basis for interpretation using logging simulation *** the various detection tools that use nuclear sources,the detector response can reflect various types of information of the *** Monte Carlo method is one of the primary methods used to obtain nuclear detection responses in complex ***,this requires a computational process with extensive random sampling,consumes considerable resources,and does not provide real-time response ***,a novel fast forward computational method(FFCM)for nuclear measurement that uses volumetric detection constraints to rapidly calculate the detector response in various complex environments is ***,the data library required for the FFCM is built by collecting the detection volume,detector counts,and flux sensitivity functions through a Monte Carlo ***,based on perturbation theory and the Rytov approximation,a model for the detector response is derived using the flux sensitivity function method and a one-group diffusion *** environmental perturbation is constrained to optimize the model according to the tool structure and the impact of the formation and borehole within the effective detection ***,the method is applied to a neutron porosity tool for *** various complex simulation environments,the maximum relative error between the calculated porosity results of Monte Carlo and FFCM was 6.80%,with a rootmean-square error of 0.62 *** field well applications,the formation porosity model obtained using FFCM was in good agreement with the model obtained by interpreters,which demonstrates the validity and accuracy of the proposed method.
