Sickle Cell Anemia(SCA)is a prevalent genetic condition in Saudi Arabia,particularly in the Jazan *** study’s purpose was to assess the prevalence of de-pression among individuals with SCA in this area and to identify the factors associated with this *** study involved 391 adult participants,all patients in the hematology center of Prince Mohammed bin Nasser Hospital(PMNH).Data was collected through an anonymous interview questionnaire–the Arabic version of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9)–between March–May *** questionnaire covered socio-demographic information and variables related to the participant’s SCA history,such as pain levels,frequency of pain,hospitalization duration,and frequency of blood *** variables underwent Chi-square and One-way ANOVA testing,followed by multivariate *** study found a 42%prevalence of depression among the SCA *** significantly linked with heightened depression levels included being widowed or divorced,experiencing frequent and severe pain,and longer duration of hospital *** educational level of at least a bachelor’s degree was also a significant *** study reveals a high prevalence of depression among SCA patients in the Jazan *** underscores the need for policymakers to educate both physicians and patients about the importance of mental health in SCA *** study also highlights the need for more research into the specific causes and effects of depressive symptoms in SCA patients to inform the creation of effective management plans.

With the advent of technological advancements and the widespread Internet connectivity during the last couple of decades,social media platforms(such as Facebook,Twitter,and Instagram)have consumed a large proportion of time in our daily *** tend to stay alive on their social media with recent updates,as it has become the primary source of interactionwithin social *** social media platforms offer several remarkable features but are simultaneously prone to various critical *** studies have revealed a strong correlation between the usage of social media and associated mental health issues consequently leading to depression,anxiety,suicide commitment,and mental disorder,particularly in the young adults who have excessively spent time on socialmedia which necessitates a thorough psychological analysis of all these *** study aims to exploit machine learning techniques for the classification of psychotic issues based on Facebook status *** this paper,we start with depression detection in the first instance and then expand on analyzing six other psychotic issues(e.g.,depression,anxiety,psychopathic deviate,hypochondria,unrealistic,and hypomania)commonly found in adults due to extreme use of social media *** classify the psychotic issues with the user’s mental state,we have employed different Machine Learning(ML)classifiers i.e.,Random Forest(RF),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Naïve Bayes(NB),and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN).The used ML models are trained and tested by using different combinations of features selection *** observe themost suitable classifiers for psychotic issue classification,a cost-benefit function(sometimes termed as‘Suitability’)has been used which combines the accuracy of the model with its execution *** experimental evidence argues that RF outperforms its competitor classifiers with the unigram feature set.

This study explores the practices of the Holy Prophet muhammad ■ to establish a peaceful and diverse society with special reference to Methāq-e-Madīnah and its significance and application in contemporary socio-political context. Theoretically, the effort and dream to establish a peaceful and diverse society have been a matter of concern for the humanity from the ancient times. But it has become the most significant and burning issue of the contemporary global scenario. Ultimately, the human intellectual and physical development is based upon peace and peaceful coexistence. Therefore, a number of religious and socio-political scholars have been tried to establish a peaceful and diverse society in different phases of the human history. Practically, the Prophet muhammad (■ )has made a unique and distinct contribution towards developing a peaceful and diverse society for 1,400 years ago, though he led or had been the part of multiethnic society of different faiths in the state of Madīnah. In order to establish a peaceful and pleasant relationship between Muslims and other communities of Madīnah, an agreement was signed which was titled Methāq-e-Madīnah. The Charter of Madīnah contained certain principles and regulations that are mandatory for a peaceful living in a diverse state or society. This charter is an excellent model for peace, prosperity, religious freedom, and human rights in the human history. According to this charter, all groups were free to exercise their religious beliefs and social and economic interests. According to this agreement, Madīnah was declared a federal capital of the state. This agreement had provided equal rights, religious autonomy, and socio-cultural freedom to all other groups of the Madīnah (Jews, Christians, and polytheists). Therefore, it is perceived that the Charter of Madīnah may become a preamble for peaceful coexistence in this multicultural and multipath world of the contemporary era. Characterization of aerodynamic performance of wind-lens turbine using high-fidelity CFD simulations

Wind-lens turbines(WLTs)exhibit the prospect of a higher output power and more suitability for urban areas in comparison to bare wind *** wind-lens typically comprises a diffuser shroud coupled with a flange appended to the exit periphery of the ***-lenses can boost the velocity of the incoming wind through the turbine rotor owing to the creation of a lowpressure zone downstream the flanged *** this paper,the aerodynamic performance of the wind-lens is computationally assessed using high-fidelity transient CFD simulations for shrouds with different profiles,aiming to assess the effect of change of some design parameters such as length,area ratio and flange height of the diffuser shroud on the power *** power coefficient(Cp)is calculated by solving the URANS equations with the aid of the SST k–ω***,comparisons with experimental data for validation are accomplished to prove that the proposed methodology could be able to precisely predict the aerodynamic behavior of the windlens *** results affirm that wind-lens with cycloidal profile yield an augmentation of about 58%increase in power coefficient compared to bare wind turbine of the same rotor *** is also emphasized that diffusers(cycloid type)of small length could achieve a twice increase in power coefficient while maintaining large flange heights.

Evaluation of model generalization for growing plants using conditional learning

This paper aims to solve the lack of generalization of existing semantic segmentation models in the crop and weed segmentation *** compare two training mechanisms,classical and adversarial,to understand which scheme works best for a particular encoder-decoder *** use simple U-Net,SegNet,and DeepLabv3+with ResNet-50 backbone as segmentation *** models are trained with cross-entropy loss for classical and PatchGAN loss for adversarial *** adopting the Conditional Generative Adversarial Network(CGAN)hierarchical settings,we penalize different Generators(G)using PatchGAN Discriminator(D)and L1 loss to generate segmentation *** generalization is to exhibit fewer failures and perform comparably for growing plants with different data *** utilize the images from four different stages of sugar *** divide the data so that the full-grown stage is used for training,whereas earlier stages are entirely dedicated to testing the *** conclude that U-Net trained in adversarial settings is more robust to changes in the *** adversarially trained U-Net reports 10%overall improvement in the results with mIOU scores of 0.34,0.55,0.75,and 0.85 for four different growth stages.

BACKGROUND Short bowel syndrome(SBS)hospitalizations are often complicated with *** is a significant paucity of data on adult SBS hospitalizations in the United States and across the *** To assess trends and outcomes of SBS hospitalizations complicated by sepsis in the United *** The National Inpatient Sample was utilized to identify all adult SBS hospitalizations between *** study cohort was further divided based on the presence or absence of *** were identified,and hospitalization characteristics and clinical outcomes were *** of mortality for SBS hospitalizations complicated with sepsis were *** Of 247097 SBS hospitalizations,21.7%were complicated by *** SBS hospitalizations had a rising trend of hospitalizations from 20.8%in 2005 to 23.5%in 2014(P trend<0.0001).Compared to non-septic SBS hospitalizations,septic SBS hospitalizations had a higher proportion of males(32.8%vs 29.3%,P<0.0001),patients in the 35-49(45.9%vs 42.5%,P<0.0001)and 50-64(32.1%vs 31.1%,P<0.0001)age groups,and ethnic minorities,i.e.,Blacks(12.4%vs 11.3%,P<0.0001)and Hispanics(6.7%vs 5.5%,P<0.0001).Furthermore,septic SBS hospitalizations had a higher proportion of patients with intestinal transplantation(0.33%vs 0.22%,P<0.0001),inpatient mortality(8.5%vs 1.4%,P<0.0001),and mean length of stay(16.1 d vs 7.7 d,P<0.0001)compared to the non-sepsis cohort.A younger age,female gender,White race,and presence of comorbidities such as anemia and depression were identified to be independent predictors of inpatient mortality for septic SBS *** Septic SBS hospitalizations had a rising trend between 2005-2014 and were associated with higher inpatient mortality compared to non-septic SBS hospitalizations.

Low temperature ferromagnetic properties of CdS and CdTe thin films

The magnetic property in a material is induced by the unpaired electrons. This can occur due to defect states which can enhance the magnetic moment and the spin polarization. In this report, CdS and CdTe thin films are grown on FTO glass substrates by chemical bath deposition and close-spaced sublimation, respectively. The magnetic properties, which are introduced from oxygen states, are found in CdS and CdTe thin films. From the hysteresis loop of magnetic moment it is revealed that CdS and CdTe thin films have different kinds of magnetic moments at different temperatures. The M–H curves indicate that from 100 K to 350 K, CdS and CdTe thin films show paramagnetism and diamagnetism, respectively.A superparamagnetic or a weakly ferromagnetic response is found at 5 K. It is also observed from ZFC/FC curves that magnetic moments decrease with temperature increasing. Spin polarized density functional calculation for spin magnetic moment is also carried out.
