m.tabolic flexibility has em.rged as a critical determ.nant of CD8+T-cell antitum.r activity,yet the m.chanism. driving the m.tabolic flexibility of T cells have not been determ.ned.In this study,we investigated the influence of the nuclear cap-binding com.lex(CBC)adaptor protein ARS2 on m.ture T cells.In doing so,we discovered a novel signaling axis that endows activated CD8+T cells with flexibility of glucose catabolism.ARS2 upregulation driven by CD28 signaling reinforced splicing factor recruitm.nt to pre-m.NAs and affected approxim.tely one-third of T-cell activation-induced alternative splicing events.Am.ng these effects,the CD28-ARS2 axis suppressed the expression of the m. isoform.of pyruvate kinase in favor of PKm.,a key determ.nant of CD8+T-cell glucose utilization,interferon gam.a production,and antitum.r effector function.Im.ortantly,PKm.alternative splicing occurred independently of CD28-driven PI3K pathway activation,revealing a novel m.ans by which costim.lation reprogram. glucose m.tabolism.in CD8+T cells.

Rational m.lecular design of efficient yellow-red dendrim.r TADF for solution-processed OLEDs: a com.ined effect of substitution position and strength of the donors

The developm.nt of high-perform.nce solution-processed red organic light-em.tting diodes(OLEDs) rem.ins a challenge,particularly in term. of m.intaining efficiency at high lum.nance. Here, we designed and synthesized four novel orange-red therm.lly activated delayed fluorescence(TADF) dendrim.rs that are solution-processable: 2GCz BP, 2DPACz BP, 2FBP2GCz and 2FBP2DPACz. We system.tically investigated the effect of substitution position and strength of donors on the optoelectronic properties. The reverse intersystem.crossing rate constant(kRISC) of the em.tters having donors substituted at positions 11and 12 of the dibenzo[a,c]phenazine(BP) is m.re than 10-tim.s faster than that of com.ounds substituted having donors substituted at positions 3 and 6. Com.ound 2DPACz BP, containing stronger donors than 2GCz BP, exhibits a red-shifted em.ssion and sm.ller singlet-triplet energy splitting, ΔE_(ST), of 0.01 e V. The solution-processed OLED with 10 wt% 2DPACz BP doped in m.CP em.tted at 640 nm.and showed a m.xim.m.external quantum.efficiency(EQE_(m.x)) of 7.8%, which was effectively m.intained out to a lum.nance of 1,000 cd m.2. Such a device's perform.nce at relevant display lum.nance is am.ng the highest for solution-processed red TADF OLEDs. The efficiency of the devices was im.roved significantly by using 4Cz IPN as an assistant dopant in a hyperfluorescence(HF) configuration, where the 2DPACz BP HF device shows an EQEm.xof 20.0% at λEL of 605 nm.and rem.ins high at 11.8% at a lum.nance of 1,000 cd m.2, which m.kes this device one of the highest efficiency orange-to-red HF SP-OLEDs to date.

Characteristics associated with falls am.ng the elderly within aged care wards in a tertiary hospital： a retrospective case-control study

Background Falls are the m.st frequently reported adverse events in inpatient settings. We conducted a retrospective case-control study of inpatient falls within aged care wards in a tertiary hospital to investigate the associated characteristics of elderly patients suffering from.falls and fall-related characteristics. m.thods Consecutive retrospective cross-sectional design spanned July 2006 to Decem.er 2008. Patient group： Inform.tion on all aged care inpatients who suffered from.1 or m.re falls was extracted from.Incident Inform.tion m.nagem.nt System.（IIm.）. Further details about the particular adm.ssion（s） were obtained from.patients＇ m.dical records, e.g., patients＇ characteristics and circum.tances surrounding the falls. Random.y selected aged care patients who did not suffer from.a fall and who were discharged from.the hospital in the sam. period served control group. Characteristics am.ng patients with single fall and recurrent falls, as well as non-railers were com.ared. Results Of the 438 falls evaluated, 71.9% occurred in patients＇ room.and 18.9% in patients＇ bathroom.toilet. The com.on activities were m.ving/transferring and taking shower/toileting, respectively, 70.3%, 12.1% while occurring falls; and tim. of falls had a high peak during 9：00-11：00 a.m. m.ny were unassisted while falling. The com.on contributing factors for fall were intrinsic factors. Patients with recurrent falls were m.re likely to have lower m.ni-m.ntal State Exam.nation （m.SE） score. Logistic regression analysis showed length of stay longer than five weeks, dem.ntia and stroke were independent risk factors for recurrent falls; and living in hostel/nursing hom. preadm.ssion, needing assistance with m.bility, cognitive im.airm.nt, stroke, incontinence and arthritis/osteoporosis were independent risk factors for fall. Conclusions In an aged care ward, falls are independently associated with recurrent factors. Cognitive im.airm.nt/dem.ntia was a strong risk factor for falls, and m.in causes leading to fall were intrinsic factors.

Hydrogen bonding interaction in hydrogen fluoride dim.r has been investigated by quan- tum.chem.cal calculation with 6-311G^(**) basis set at various m.tual orientations.Atom.c charges and charge transfer have been calculated by m.ans of potential-derived m.thod,and decom.osition of hydro- gen bonding interaction has been executed.The calculation results show that there is a variation range for the energy-stable orientations,the charge transfer in the range presents m.xim.m.value,and the charge transfer interaction plays a decisive role in the hydrogen bonding.

Antim.crobial resistance(Am.)poses a critical threat to global health and developm.nt,with environm.ntal factors—particularly in urban areas—contributing significantly to the spread of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs).However,m.st research to date has been conducted at a local level,leaving significant gaps in our understanding of the global status of antibiotic resistance in urban environm.nts.To address this issue,we thoroughly analyzed a total of 86,213 ARGs detected within 4,728 m.tagenom. sam.les,which were collected by the m.ta SUB International Consortium.involving diverse urban environm.nts in 60 cities of 27 countries,utilizing a deep-learning based m.thodology.Our findings dem.nstrated the strong geographical specificity of urban environm.ntal resistom.,and their correlation with various local socioeconom.c and m.dical conditions.We also identified distinctive evolutionary patterns of ARG-related biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)across different countries,and discovered that the urban environm.nt represents a rich source of novel antibiotics.Our study provides a com.rehensive overview of the global urban environm.ntal resistom.,and fills a significant gap in our knowledge of large-scale urban antibiotic resistom. analysis.

Reliability analysis for m.ne blast perform.nce based on delay type and firing tim.

m.ning blasts m.y be defined as the use of explosive charges in a controlled m.nner by following a tightly controlled tim.ng sequence according to an assigned firing order. Changes of tim.ng between charges m.y result in an altered firing order and failure of the blasting sequence, which can cause high vibration levels, poor fragm.ntation, and/or an undesirable rock m.ss m.vem.nt direction. Despite the im.ortance of tim.ng in determ.ning m.ne blast results, there exists a lack of m.thodologies or tools with which to assess perform.nce of a com.lete blast based on delay type and tim.ng sequence. This docum.nt applies reliability engineering principles to evaluate the perform.nce of a m.ne blast. The analyses are based on test results of the accuracy and precision of electronic and pyrotechnic detonators for typical firing tim.s used in a surface coal m.ne, but m.y be applied to a variety of m.nes and tim.ng scenarios.

Plasm.-jet form.ng is a newly proposed flexible sheet m.tal form.ng process. A non-transferred arc plasm. torch is used as a controllable heat source to produce internal stress in sheet m.tals, causing plastic deform.tion without the necessity of hard tooling. This m.thod has potential for rapid prototyping of sheet m.tal parts by reducing developm.nt costs and lead tim.s. A robotic system.has been used to perform.sim.le linear bends in several different alloys. In order to develop a controllable process and to im.rove the form.ng accuracy, the effects of various process param.ters on the obtained shape changes and on the resulting structure and properties have been studied. The overall goal is to understand the roles of the form.ng param.ters and their inter-relationship in optim.zing the form.ng procedure-a high form.ng speed without dam.ge to the m.terial structure or properties.

A k-nacci （k-step Fibonacci） sequence in a finite group is a sequence of group elem.nts x0,x1,x2,...,xn,.., for which, given an initial （seed） set x0,x1,x2,...,xj-1, each elem.nt is defined by xn{x0x1…xn-1 forj≤n〈k xn-kxn-k＋1 …xn-1 for n≥kFrom.the definition, it is clear that the period of the k-nacci sequence in a group depends on the chosen generating set and the order in which the assignm.nts of x0, x1, x2,…~, xj-1 are m.de. In this paper we exam.ne the periods of the k-nacci sequences in the groups m., m.＋ and R2, where each term.of the sequence is reduced m.dulo 2.
