Introduction: Macular edema is the main cause of low vision in diabetic patients. Laser photocoagulation continues to be the treatment of choice in conjunction with the use of steroids and anti-angiogenics, but these treatments include possible ocular complications. The nutritional supplement Alzer (whose primary active ingredient is Ginkgo biloba, a powerful antioxidant that acts on vascular factors and oxidative damage, which are two of the mechanisms implicated in the pathogenesis of diabetic macular edema), which has been used on other non-diabetic macular conditions, along with the Diamel nutritional supplement has been shown to be effective on glycemic control and could represent a treatment alternative for mild to moderate macular edema by reducing the thickness of the macular retina and preventing the progression of other more advanced clinical presentations that are harder to treat. Objective: Identify the effect of Alzer along with Diamel in reduction of the thickness of the macular retina among patients with mild to moderate diabetic macular edema. Materials and Methods: A phase II double-blind clinical trial was conducted in 64 patients with non-severe diabetic macular edema over the course of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, who attended the ophthalmology service of the Institute of Endocrinology of havana from January 2016 to December 2016. AIM： To investigate intestinal alkaline phosphatase （iAP） in the intestinal mucosa of children with inflammatory bowel disease （IBD）. METHODS： Colonic biopsy samples were taken from 15 newly diagnosed IBD patients and from 10 healthy controls. In IBD patients, specimens were obtainedboth from inflamed and non-inflamed areas. The lAP mRNA and protein expression was determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting analysis, respectively. Tissue localiza- tion of lAP and Toll-like receptor （TLR） 4 was investi- gated by immunofluorescent staining. RESULTS： The lAP protein level in the inflamed muco- sa of children with Crohn＇s disease （CD） and ulcerative colitis （UC） was significantly decreased when compared with controls （both P 〈 0.05）. Similarly, we found a significantly decreased level of lAP protein in the in- flamed mucosa in CD compared with non-inflamed mucosa in CD （P 〈 0.05）. In addition, the iAP protein level in inflamed colonic mucosa in patients with UC was decreased compared with non-inflamed mucosa in patients with CD （P 〈 0.05）. lAP protein levels in the non-inflamed mucosa of patients with CD were similar to controls, lAP mRNA expression in inflamed colonic mucosa of children with CD and UC was not significant- ly different from that in non-inflamed colonic mucosa with CD. Expression of lAP mRNA in patients with non- inflamed mucosa and in controls were similar. Co-local- ization of lAP with TLR4 showed intense staining with a dotted-like pattern, lAP was present in the inflamed and non-inflamed mucosa of patients with CD, UC, and in control biopsy specimens, irrespective of whether it was present in the terminal ileum or in the colon. However, the fluorescent signal of TLR4 was more pro- nounced in the colon compared with the terminal ileum in all groups studied. AIM:The effects of vitamin D3 have been investigated on various tumors, including colorectal cancer (CRC). 25-hydroxyvitamin-D3-24-hydroxylase (CYP24A1), the enzyme that inactivates the active vitamin D3 metabolite 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25-D3), is considered to be the main enzyme determining the biological halflife of 1,25-D3. During colorectal carcinogenesis, the expression and concentration of CYP24A1 increases significantly, suggesting that this phenomenon could be responsible for the proposed efficacy of 1,25-D3 in the treatment of CRC. The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-tumor effects of vitamin D3 on the human CRC cell line Caco-2 after inhibition of the cytochrome P450 component of CYP24A1 activity. METHODS:We examined the expression of CYP24A1 mRNA and the effects of 1,25-D3 on the cell line Caco-2 after inhibition of CYP24A1. Cell viability and proliferation were determined by means of sulforhodamine-B staining and bromodeoxyuridine incorporation, respectively, while cytotoxicity was estimated via the lactate dehydrogenase content of the cell culture supernatant. CYP24A1 expression was measured by realtime reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. A number of tetralone compounds were synthesized to investigate their CP24A1 inhibitory activity. RESULTS:In response to 1,25-D3, CYP24A1 mRNA expression was enhanced significantly, in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Caco-2 cell viability and proliferation were not influenced by the administration of 1,25-D3 alone, but were markedly reduced by coadministration of 1,25-D3 and KD-35, a CYP24A1-inhibiting tetralone. Our data suggest that the mechanism of action of co-administered KD-35 and 1,25-D3 does not involve a direct cytotoxic effect, but rather the inhibition of cell proliferation. CONCLUSION:These findings demonstrate that the selective inhibition of CYP24A1 by compounds such as KD-35 may be a new approach for enhancement of the anti-tumor effect of 1,25-D3 on CRC.

针对天然橡胶作为套扎器胶圈材料使用时出现的抗湿滑性较差,套扎不牢固、易脱落的问题,选用天然橡胶作为基础材料,气相法白炭黑为补强剂,添加明胶甘油等加工助剂制备套扎器胶圈,在满足胶圈的力学强度的同时,借鉴胎面胶抗湿滑理论,对胶圈抗湿滑性能进行研究。分别用电子拉伸测试仪、AFM、DMA、摩擦系数仪等仪器对材料的力学性能、表面粗糙度、微观硬度、tan?和最大静摩擦力进行表征。结果表明采用所提供的配方,使天然橡胶500%定伸应力达6.12 MPa,微观表面粗糙度(ra)为9.754,同时具有较高的微观硬度和tan?,在湿润表面的最大静摩擦系数达到2.6,获得了良好的抗湿滑性能。

目的通过观察“三法三穴”推拿手法干预早期对轻度坐骨神经慢性压迫性损伤(Minor chronic compression injury of sciatic nerve, Minor CCI)模型大鼠脊髓背角中白介素-17A(interleukin-17A,IL-17A)、白介素-17A受体(interleukin-17A receptor, IL-17ra)、转录因子CCAAT增强子结合蛋白β(transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer binding protein β, C/EBPβ)表达的影响,明确推拿对周围神经病理性疼痛(peripherally neuropathic pain, pNP)的即刻镇痛机制。方法 SD大鼠随机分为假手术组、模型组、推拿组,8只/组,模型组、推拿组复制Minor CCI模型。使用按摩推拿手法模拟仪模拟点法、拨法、揉法,对推拿组大鼠患侧殷门、承山、阳陵泉进行定时、定性、定量干预1次,通过机械缩足反射阈值(paw mechanical withdraw threshold, PMWT)与冷敏阈值(cold sensitivity threshold, CST)评价干预后即刻对大鼠机械痛觉、温度觉敏化情况变化;通过蛋白免疫印迹法(Western Bolt, WB)检测脊髓背角中IL-17A、C/EBPβ表达;通过荧光定量聚合酶链式反应(real time-polymerase chain reaction, RT-PCR)检测脊髓背角中IL-17A、IL-17ra、C/EBPβ表达。结果与假手术组、模型组相比,推拿干预1次后可提高Minor CCI模型大鼠PMWT与CST(Pra、C/EBPβ在脊髓背角中mRNA的表达(Pra、C/EBPβ信号通路的表达,改善机械痛觉及冷刺激敏化情况,从而实现即刻镇痛的作用。
