Objective:To demonstrate the effect of dieckol from Eisenia bicyclis on osteoclastogenesis using RAW 264.7 ***:Murine macrophage RAW 264.7 cells were subjected to dieckol treatment,followed by treatment with receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand(RANKL)to induce ***-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)activity was examined using a TRAP activity *** blotting analysis was conducted to examine the level of osteoclast-related factors,including TRAP and calcitonin receptor(CTR),transcriptional factors,including c-Fos,c-Jun,and nuclear factor of activated T cells cytoplasmic 1(NFATc1),nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK),and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK).Immunofluorescence staining was conducted to examine the expression of c-Fos,c-Jun,and ***:Among the four phlorotannin compounds present in Eisenia bicyclis,dieckol significantly hindered osteoclast differentiation and expression of RANKL-induced TRAP and *** addition,dieckol downregulated the expression levels of c-Fos,c-Jun,NFATc1,ERK,and JNK,and suppressed NF-κB ***:Dieckol can suppress RANKL-induced ***,it has therapeutic potential in treating osteoclastogenesis-associated diseases.

Background： Glehnia littoralis has been used for traditional Asian medicine, which has diverse therapeutic activities. However, studies regarding neurogenic effects of G. littoralis have not yet been considered. Therefore, in this study, we examined effects of G. littoralis extract on cell proliferation, neuroblast differentiation, and the maturation of newborn neurons in the hippocampus of adult mice. Methods： A total of 39 male ICR mice （12 weeks old） were randomly assigned to vehicle-treated and 100 and 200 mg/kg G. littoralis extract-treated groups （n = 13 in each group）. Vehicle and G. littoralis extract were orally administrated for 28 days. To examine neurogenic effects ofG. litmralis extract, we performed immunohistochemistry tbr 5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine （BrdU, an indicator for cell proliferation） and doublecortin （DCX, an immature neuronal marker） and double immunofluorescence staining for BrdU and neuronal nuclear antigen （NeuN, a mature neuronal marker）. In addition, we examined expressional changes of brain-derived neurotrophic factor （BDNF） and its major receptor tropomyosin-related kinase B （TrkB） using Western blotting analysis. Results： Treatment with 200 mg/kg, not 100 mg/kg, significantly increased number of BrdU-immunoreactive （＋） and DCX＋ cells （48.0 ±3.1and 72.0 ± 3.8 cells/section, respectively） in the subgranular zone （SGZ） of the dentate gyrus （DG） and BrdU＊/NeuN＋ cells （17.0 ±1.5 cells/section） in the granule cell layer as well as in the SGZ. In addition, protein levels of BDNF and YrkB （about 232% and 244% of the vehicle-treated group, respectively） were significantly increased in the DG of the mice treated with 200 mg/kg ofG. littoralis extract. Conclusion： G. littoralis extract promots cell proliferation, neuroblast differentiation, and neuronal maturation in the hippocampal DG, and neurogenic effects might be closely related to increases ofBDN F and TrkB proteins by G. littoralis extract treatment.

The present study examined the effects of Tremella fuciformis(TF) on the learning and memory function and the neural activity in rats with TMT-induced memory *** rats were administered saline or TF(TF 25,50,100mg/kg,p.o.) daily for 21 *** cognitive improving efficacy of TF on the amnesic rats, which was induced by TMT,was investigated by assessing the Morris water maze test and by performing acetylchoine transferase(ChaT) and cAMP responsive element binding protein(CREB) immunohistochemistry. In order to confirm the underlying mechanisms of the memory enhancing effects of TF,we assessed the neurite outgrowth of PC12 *** also administered 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose and performed a PET/CT scan of the frontal lobe. The rats with TMT injection showed impaired learning and memory of the tasks and treatment with TF produced a significant improvement of the escape latency to find the platform in the Morris water maze at the 2 day compared to that of the control group(after the 2 day,phat of the control group(phavioral data,TF50 mg/kg significantly alleviated the loss of ChaT-ir neurons in the hippocampus compared to that of the control group(phat of the control *** addition,TF treatment(50mg/kg) increased the glucose uptake approximately sevenfold in the frontal lobe(phat of the controls. These results suggest that TF may be useful for improving the cognitive function via regulation of cholinergic marker enzyme activity and neural activity.

BACKGROUND Although important for determining long-term outcome, pathologic stage of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is difficult to predict before surgery. Current state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using gadoxetic acid provides many imaging features that could potentially be used to classify single HCC as pT1 or pT2. AIM To determine which gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI (EOB-MRI) findings predict pathologic stage T2 in patients with solitary HCC (cT1). METHODS Pre-operative EOB-MRI findings were reviewed in a retrospective cohort of patients with solitary HCC. The following imaging features were examined: Hyperintensity in unenhanced T2-weighted images, hypointensity in unenhanced T1-weighted images, arterial enhancement, corona enhancement, washout appearance, capsular appearance, hypointensity in the tumor tissue during the hepatobiliary (HB) phase, peritumoral hypointensity in the HB phase, hypointense rim in the HB phase, intratumoral fat, hyperintensity on diffusionweighted imaging, hypointensity on apparent diffusion coefficient map, mosaic appearance, nodule-in-nodule appearance, and the margin (smooth or irregular). Surgical pathology was used as the reference method for tumor staging. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify predictors of microvascular invasion or satellite nodules. RESULTS There were 39 (34.2%;39 of 114) and 75 (65.8%;75 of 114) pathological stage T2 and T1 HCCs, respectively. Large tumor size (≥ 2.3 cm) and two MRI findings, i.e., corona enhancement [odds ratio = 2.67;95% confidence interval: 1.101-6.480] and peritumoral hypointensity in HB phase images (odds ratio = 2.203;95% confidence interval: 0.961-5.049) were associated with high risk of pT2 HCC. The positive likelihood ratio was 6.25 (95% confidence interval: 1.788-21.845), and sensitivity of EOB-MRI for detecting pT2 HCC was 86.2% when two or three of these MRI features were present. Background： Until now, various types of combined therapy with nucleotide analogs and pegylated interferon （Peg-INF） in patients with hepatitis B patients have been tried. Howe6ver, studies regarding the benefits of de novo combination, late-add on, and sequential treatmentare very limited. The objective of the current study was to identify the efficacy of sequential treatment of Peg-INF after short-term antiviral treatment. Methods： Between June 2010 and June 2015, hepatitis 13 e antigen （HBeAg）-positive patients （n = 162） received Peg-IFN for 48 weeks （mono-treatment group, n = 81） and entecavir （ETV） for 12 weeks with a 48-week course of Peg-IFN starting at week 5 of ETV therapy （sequential treatment group, n = 81）. The primary endpoint was HBeAg seroconversion at the end of follow-up period after the 24-week treatment. The primary endpoint was analyzed using Chi-square test, Fisher＇s exact test, and regression ***： HBeAg seroconversion rate （18.2% vs. 18.2%, t = 0.03, P = 1.000） and seroclearance rate （19.7% vs. 19.7%, t = 0.03, P = 1.000） were same in both mono-treatment and sequential treatment groups. The rate of alanine aminotransferase （ALT） normalization （45.5% vs. 54.5%, t = 1.12, P = 0.296） and serum hepatitis B virus （HBV）-DNA 〈2000 U/L （28.8% vs. 28.8%, t = 0.10, P = 1.000） was not different in sequential and mono-treatment groups at 24 weeks of Peg-INF. Viral response rate （HBeAg seroconversion and serum HBV-DNA 〈2000 U/L） was not different in the two groups （12.1% vs. 16.7%, t = 1.83, P = 0.457）. Baseline HBV-DNA level （7 log10 U/ml vs. 7.5 log10 U/ml, t = 1.70, P = 0.019） and hepatitis B surface antigen titer （3.6 log10 U/ml vs. 4.0 log10 U/ml, t = 2.19, P = 0.020） were lower and predictors of responder in mono-treatment and sequential treatment groups, respectively. Conclusions： The current study shows no differences in HBeAg seroconversion rate, ALT normalization, and HBV-DNA levels between mono-therapy and sequential therapy regimens.

目的：比较慢性布鲁菌性脊椎炎和脊椎结核的ＣＴ特征以及对鉴别诊断的意义。材料与方法：对经临床确诊，Ｘ线阳性的１５例布鲁菌性脊椎炎和１７例脊椎结核患者作ＣＴ扫描。其中６例布鲁菌病患者于６年前作过同部位ＣＴ扫描。结果：布鲁菌病：骨破坏灶小（２～５ｍｍ）而多发，多局限于椎体边缘，病灶周围明显增生硬化，新生骨组织中又有新破坏灶形成，椎间盘破坏，关节面增生硬化，相邻骨密度增高，少或无椎旁脓疡形成。结核：以椎体和椎间盘骨破坏为主并有死骨形成，椎旁脓疡（脓肿）和骨质疏松变化比较常见。结论：根据ＣＴ特征及临床。
