Let Tn be the number of triangles in the random intersection graph G(n,m,p).When the mean of Tn is bounded,we obtain an upper bound on the total variation distance between Tn and a Poisson distribution.When the mean of Tn tends to infinity,the Stein–Tikhomirov method is used to bound the error for the normal approximation of Tn with respect to the Kolmogorov metric.

With the rapid development of modern molecular biology and bioinformatics,many studies have proved that transcription factors play an important role in regulating the growth and development of plants.SPATULA(SPT)belongs to the bHLH transcription family and participates in many processes of regulating plant growth and development.This review systemically summarizes the multiple roles of SPT in plant growth,development,and stress response,including seed germination,ﬂowering,leaf size,carpel development,and root elongation,which is helpful for us to better understand the functions of SPT.

Many dormitories have a high population density,and occupants exposed to volatile organic compounds(VOCs)could suffer severe physical and mental issues,so it is important to ensure good indoor air quality(IAQ).Currently,indoor VOC analysis using only chemical concentration cannot accurately reflect the effect of odor on human comfort.Therefore,the sensory evaluation of indoor odor acts as a supplementary method for an IAQ assessment.Here,we measured indoor VOC concentrations in 10 dormitories under occupied and unoccupied conditions.The contribution of building materials and human-related emissions was analyzed.An odor activity value(OAV)was calculated using the VOC concentration and odorant threshold.In addition,recruited sensory odor panel members assessed the odor intensity of each dormitory and the correlation between odor intensity and chemical measurements was analyzed.The indoor total VOC(TVOC)concentration under occupied conditions ranged from 242.2 to 1063.1μg/m^(3),with a mean value of 454.1μg/m^(3).The TVOC concentration under unoccupied conditions varied from 97.2 to 1055.2μg/m^(3),with a mean value of 342.2μg/m^(3).The TVOC concentration of 90% of the dormitories under the two conditions met the national IAQ standards.An average of 53.6% indoor TVOC emissions are related to building materials,the outdoor-related TVOC concentration accounts for 15.7%,and the average human-related TVOC emissions are 1519.4μg/(h·person),which accounts for 30.7%.Compared to TVOC concentration,odor intensity-OAV(OAV_(sum),OAV_(max))could better characterize subjective and objective correlations.However,the goodness-of-fit is not satisfactory.Weber–Fencher's law has limitations in characterizing the correlation between odor intensity and OAV when applied to the indoor air mixture,based on this small-scale study.

White light-emitting diodes(WLEDs)fabricated by single-phase full color emitting phosphor are an emerging solution for health lighting.The crystallographic site occupation of activators in a proper host lattice is crucial for sophisticated design of such phosphor.Here,we report a high quality white lightemitting phosphor Ba_(2)Ca(BO_(3))_(2):Ce^(3+)(K^(+)),Eu^(2+),Mn^(2+)with spectral distribution covering whole visible region.Blue light emission originates from Ce3+ions occupying preferentially Ba^(2+)site by controlling synthesis conditions.Green and red lights are obtained from Eu^(2+)occupying Ba2+(and Ca)site and Mn2+occupying Casite,respectively.In this triple-doped phosphor,strong red emission with a low concentration of Mn2+is realized by the efficient energy transfer from Ce3+and Euto Mn.Furthermore,high quality white light is accomplished by properly tuning the relative doping amount of Ce^(3+)(K^(+))/Eu^(2+)/Mn^(2+)based on efficient simultaneous energy transfer.The results indicate that Ba_(2)Ca(BO_(3))_(2):Ce^(3+)(K^(+)),Eu^(2+),Mn^(2+)is a promising white light-emitting phosphor in WLEDs application.

Conductive hydrogels are good candidates for flexible wearable sensors, which have received considerable attention for use in human-machine interfaces, human motion/health monitoring, and soft robots. However, these hydrogels often freeze at low temperatures and thus, exhibit low transparency, weak mechanical strength and stretchability, as well as poor adhesion strength.In this paper, conductive organohydrogels were prepared by thermal polymerization of acrylamide and N-(3-aminopropyl)methacrylamide in a glycerol-water binary solvent using Na Cl as a conductive salt. Compared to other organohydrogels, our organohydrogels featured higher fracture stress(170 kPa) and greater stretchability(900%). The organohydrogels showed excellent antifreezing properties and high transparency(97%, at 400–800 nm wavelength) and presented outstanding adhesion strength to a variety of substrates. The conductive organohydrogels that were stored at -20℃ for 24 h could still respond to both strain and pressure, showing a high sensitivity(gauge factor=2.73 under 100% strain), fast response time(0.4 s), and signal repeatability during multiple force cycles(~100 cycles). Furthermore, the conductivity of cleaved antifreezing gels could be restored by contacting the broken surfaces together. Finally, we used our organohydrogels to monitor human tremors and bradykinesia in real-time within wired and wireless models, thus presenting a potential application for Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

Effect of catalyst diesel particulate filter aging and catalyst loadings on particulate emission characteristics from a diesel vehicle

In this study,the effect of new and used catalyzed diesel particulate filter(CDPF)with different catalyst loadings on the particulate emissions including the particle mass(PM),particle number(PN),particle size distribution(PSD)and geometric mean diameter(GMD)from a diesel vehicle were investigated based on a heavy chassis dynamometer.Results showed that more than 97.9%of the PN and 95.4%of the PM were reduced by the CDPF,and the reduction efficiency was enhanced by the catalyst loading.After using the CDPF,the PSD transformed from bimodal to trimodal with the peak shifting towards smaller particle size,more nucleation mode particles were reduced compared with accumulation mode ones,but the reduction effect on the accumulation mode particles was more significantly influenced by the catalyst loading.Notably,the CDPF increased the accumulation mode particles proportion,producing a larger GMD.For the used CDPF,its reduction effect on the particulate emissions enhanced,especially for the PM in accumulation mode.The PSD returned to bimodal,but the peak at accumulation mode began to be higher than that at nucleation mode,illustrating that more nucleation mode particles was removed.The aging of the CDPF resulted in greater effect on the PN-based PSD than that of PM-based PSD,but the effect of catalyst loading on the PN and PM emission factors was weakened.The used CDPF further increased the GMD,and the effect of catalyst loading on the GMD was strengthened,a higher catalyst loading led to a reduction in the GMD.

This paper proposes an artificial neural network to determine orientation using polarized skylight. This neural network has specific dilated convolution, which can extract light intensity information of different polarization directions. Then, the degree of polarization (DOP) and angle of polarization (AOP) are directly extracted in the network. In addition, the exponential function encoding of orientation is designed as the network output, which can better reflect the insect’s encoding of polarization information and improve the accuracy of orientation determination. Finally, training and testing were conducted on a public polarized skylight navigation dataset, and the experimental results proved the stability and effectiveness of the network.
