An experimental study in etiologic effect of pancreas divisum on chronic pancreatitis and its pathogenesis

AIM To investigate the etiologic association of pancreas divisum (PD) with chronic pancreatitis and to clarify its pathogenesis. METHODS A PD canine model was established in 32 dogs. The dogs were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n =8). Group Ⅰ: The communicating branch between the dorsal and ventral pancreatic ducts was partly ligated. Group Ⅱa: The communicating branch was amputated and completely ligated. Group Ⅱb: The dorsal duct was amputated and ligated at 2mm distance to the minor papilla. Group Ⅲ: A sham operation without any amputation or ligation was performed. Before and after operation, the activities of serum phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and amylase (Ams) were assayed and the basal pressures of the ducts were measured when secretin was injected. Pancreatic ductography and the pathologic examination were made. RESULTS The activities of serum PLA2 and Ams in Group Ⅰ,Ⅱa and Ⅱb were significantly increased 5-80 days after operation. At sacrifice, the basal pressures of the ventral duct were significantly higher 30min-60min after provocation in Group Ⅰ, Ⅱa and Ⅱb. The pressures of the dorsal duct were significantly increased in Group Ⅱb but no difference in Group Ⅰ and Ⅱa. Under light microscopy the fibrosis of interlobus and periducts, the destruction of acini and infiltration of inflammatory cell in dorsal and ventral pancreas were found in Group Ⅱb. But in Group Ⅰ and Ⅱa, these findings were present only in ventral pancreas. The electron microscopy showed that in ventral pancreas of Groups Ⅰ and Ⅱa and the dorsal and ventral pancreas of Group Ⅱb, the rough endoplasmic reticulum of the acinar cells showed granules scaling, fusion and dilatation. The zymogen granules decreased and the mitochondria was swollen. CONCluSION PD is one of etiologic factors in chronic pancreatitis. The pathogenesis is the functional obstruction of the minor papilla at the peak stage of secretion.

Effect of small content of chromium（Cr） on wet–dry acid corrosion behavior of low alloy steels has been *** results show that the corrosion resistance of the steels increased with increasing Cr content from 0.10 to0.50 wt%.Higher content of Cr promotes initial corrosion and accelerates the formation of dense and protective rust in long-term *** enhanced protectiveness of the rust is closely related to its *** content of Cr increases the content of amorphous phases and decreases the content of c-Fe OOH in the rust,resulting in the high compactness of the rust and low electrochemical activity in acid *** dopes in rust and depresses the transformation from amorphous phases to a-Fe OOH,as well as the growth process of Fe OOH particles,which is responsible for the enhanced compactness of rust in long-term corrosion.

Effects of W and Mo Additions on Wet-dry Acid Corrosion Behavior of Low-Alloy Steels Under Different O_2 Concentrations

Effects of W and Mo additions on wet-dry acid corrosion behavior of low-alloy steels under different O2 concentrations were investigated. The results showed that W and Mo-containing steels presented excellent wet-dry cor- rosion resistance under O2 concentrations of both 1 and 5%. The roles of W and Mo played in increasing corrosion resistance of the steels were different. W could improve the thermodynamic stability of the steel substrate, while Mo could promote the formation of protective rust. Interaction between W, Mo and O2 concentration greatly influenced wet-dry acid corrosion of low-alloy steels. W addition was more effective for depressing charge transfer process at the rust/substrate interface and presented higher enhanced effect on increasing corrosion resistance than Mo under O2 concentration of 1%. Mo was more effective on increasing rust compactness and showed higher enhanced effect on increasing corrosion resistance than W under O2 concentration of 5%.

Corrosion behavior of low alloy steels in a wet–dry acid humid environment

The corrosion behavior of corrosion resistant steel（CRS） in a simulated wet–dry acid humid environment was investigated and compared with carbon steel（CS） using corrosion loss, polarization curves, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, electron probe micro-analysis（EPMA）, N2 adsorption, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）. The results show that the corrosion kinetics of both steels were closely related to the composition and compactness of the rust, and the electrochemical properties of rusted steel. Small amounts of Cu, Cr, and Ni in CRS increased the amount of amorphous phases and decreased the content of γ-Fe OOH in the rust, resulting in higher compactness and electrochemical stability of the CRS rust. The elements Cu, Cr, and Ni were uniformly distributed in the CRS rust and formed CuFeO2, Cu2O, CrOOH, NiFe2O4, and Ni2O3, which enhanced the corrosion resistance of CRS in the wet–dry acid humid environment.

Two-dimensional(2D)InSe and WS2 exhibit promising characteristics for optoelectronic ***,they both have poor absorption of visible light due to wide bandgaps:2D InSe has high electron mobility but low hole mobility,while 2D WS2 is on the *** propose a 2D heterostructure composed of their monolayers as a solution to both *** first-principles calculations show that the heterostructure has a type-Ⅱband alignment as ***,the bandgap of the heterostructure is reduced to 2.19 eV,which is much smaller than those of the *** reduction in bandgap leads to a considerable enhancement of the visible-light absorption,such as about fivefold(threefold)increase in comparison to monolayer InSe(WS2)at the wavelength of 490 ***,the type-Ⅱ band alignment also facilitates the spatial separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs;i.e.,electrons(holes)reside preferably in the InSe(WS2)*** a result,the two layers complement each other in carrier mobilities of the heterostructure:the photogenerated electrons and holes inherit the large mobilities from the InSe and WS2 monolayers,respectively.

Sedimentary process research is of great significance for understanding the distribution and characteristics of *** the detailed observation and measurement of the Sangyuan outcrop in luanping Basin,this paper studies the depositional process of the hyperpycnal flow deposits,and divides their depositional process into three phases,namely,acceleration,erosion and *** the acceleration phase,hyperpycnal flow begins to enter the basin nearby,and then speeds up *** developed in the acceleration phase are *** addition,the original deposits become unstable and are taken away by hyperpycnal flows under the eroding *** a result,there are a lot of mixture of red mud pebbles outside the basin and gray mud pebbles within the *** the erosion phase,the reverse deposits are eroded and become thinner or even ***,no reverse grading characteristic is found in the proximal major channel that is closer to the source,but it is still preserved in the middle branch channel that is far from the *** entering the deceleration phase,normally grading deposits appear and cover previous *** final deposits in the basin are *** are reverse,and others are *** are superimposed with each other under the action of hyperpycnal *** analysis of the Sangyuan outcrop demonstrates the sedimentary process and distribution of hyperpycnites,and reasonably explain the sedimentary characteristics of *** is helpful to the prediction of oil and gas exploration targets in gravity flow deposits.

Effect of Physical Activity on Hospital Service Use and Expenditures of Patients with Coronary heart Disease: Results from Dongfeng-Tongji Cohort Study in China

The intervention of behaviors, including physical activity (PA), has become a strategy for many hospitals dealing with patients with chronic diseases. Given the limited evidence available about PA and healthcare use with chronic diseases, this study explored the association between different levels of PA and annual hospital service use and expenditure for inpatients with coronary heart disease (CHD) in China. We analyzed PA information from the first follow-up survey (2013) of the Dongfeng-Tongji cohort study of 1460 CHD inpatients. We examined factors such as PA exercise volume and years of PA and their associations with the number of inpatient visits, number of hospital days, and inpatient costs and total medical costs. We found that the number of hospital days and the number of inpatient visits were negatively associated with intensity of PA level. Similarly, total inpatient and outpatient costs declined when the PA exercise volume levels increased. furthermore, there were also significant associations between the number of hospital days, inpatient costs or total medical costs and levels of PA years. This study provides the first empirical evidence about the effects of the intensity and years of PA on hospital service use and expenditure of CHD in China. It suggests that the patients' PA, especially the vigorous PA, should be promoted widely to the public and patients in order to relieve the financial burden of CHD.
