Background Sepsis induced acute lung injury （ALI） as a common syndrome in clinical practice has a high mortality. Recombinant human activated protein C （APC） can significantly reduce the mortality of patients with severe sepsis. Several studies have implicated that APC may be protective in ALI. Methods Twenty-one rabbits were operatively prepared and randomly divided into sham, control, or APC groups （n=7 in each group）. After a tracheotomy had been performed, ALI was produced in the control and APC groups by infusion of Escherichia coil endotoxin 100 μg/kg per hour intravenously for 1 hour. The sham group received only the vehicle, infusion of 20 ml of 0.9% saline. The rabbits were studied under anesthesia for 6 hours and were ventilated with 40% oxygen. Bovine APC （25 μg·kg^-1·h^-1） was intravenously administered. The infusion was initiated half an hour post-injury and lasted for 4 hours. The animals were resuscitated with Ringer＇s lactate solution. Results In comparison with nontreatment in the control group, the infusion of APC significantly reduced the increase of thrombomodulin level （TM; control group was （0.68±0.06） ng/ml, vs APC group of （0.62±0.07） ng/ml at 6 hours, P 〈0.05）, and significantly attenuated the fall in protein S （PS; control group was （2.32±0.03） μg/ml at 2 hours, （2.24±0.06） μg/ml at 4 hours and （2.21±0.09）μg/ml at 6 hours, vs APC group （2.46±0.04） μg/ml at 2 hours, （2.40±0.05） μg/ml at 4 hours and （2.39±0.07） μg/ml at 6 hours, P 〈0.01）. In addition, APC limited the increase in plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 （PAI-1） both in plasma （control group was （0.68±0.12） ng/ml at 1 hour, （0.84±0.06） ng/ml at 2 hours, （0.87±0.08） ng/ml at 4 hours and （0.91±0.05） ng/ml at 6 hours, vs APC group （0.42±0.16） ng/ml at 1 hour, （0.43±0.04） ng/ml at 2 hours, （0.45±0.09） ng/ml at 4 hours and （0.45±0.14） ng/ml at 6 hours, P 〈0.01） and in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid （at 6 hours： sham, （1.05±0.05） ng/ml; control, （1.13±0.06） ng/ml; APC, （1.06±0.06） ng/ml; P 〈0

Panicle architecture is an agronomic determinant of crop yield and a target for cereal crop *** investigate its molecular mechanisms in rice,we performed map-based cloning and characterization of OPEN PANICLE 1(OP1),a gain-of-function allele of LIGULELESS 1(LG1),controlling the spread-panicle *** allele results from a 48-bp deletion in the LG1 upstream region and promotes pulvinus development at the base of the primary *** OP1 expression and altered panicle phenotype in chimeric transgenic plants and upstream-region knockout mutants indicated that the deletion regulates spread-panicle architecture in the mutant spread panicle 1(sp1).Knocking out BRASSINOSTEROID UPREGULATED1(BU1)gene in the background of OP1 complementary plants resulted in compact panicles,suggesting OP1 may regulate inflorescence architecture via the brassinosteroid signaling *** regard that manipulating the upstream regulatory region of OP1 or genes involved in BR signal pathway could be an efficient way to improve rice inflorescence architecture.

heterosis has been exploited to enhance the yield and adaptability in various shellfish species;however,the molecular basis of it remains *** Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas is one of the most economically important aquaculture species,and its productive traits can be improved by ***,an intraspecific cross between orange shell(O,10th generation)and‘Haida No.1’(H,13th generation)of *** was performed to assess the heterosis of survival *** rates of hybrid family(OH)and inbred families(HH and OO)were compared at larval stage,and eyed-pediveliger larvae of three families were subjected to transcriptome *** analysis results of best-parent heterosis and mid-parent heterosis showed that the hybrid family exhi-bited a high heterosis in survival relative to the parental *** OH-M(OH ***)and OH-P(OH ***)had 425 and 512 dif-ferentially expressed genes(DEGs),*** enrichment analysis of these DEGs revealed that the significantly enrich-ed genes function in virion binding,C-type lectin receptor signaling pathway,cellular defense response and other immune-related pro-cesses,which involves perlucin-like protein,CD209 antigen-like protein,ZNFX1,caspase-3 and acan *** differentially ex-pressed genes in OH-M and OH-P,together with the immune-related processes mentioned above may play an important role in the larval survival of *** addition,three genes(CYP450,fucolectin and perlucin-like)are associated with the orange shell and low survival of maternal oyster *** findings provide support for the application of hybrid with superior survival and will facilitate the understanding of heterosis formation in the Pacific oyster.

The existing level set segmentation methods have drawbacks such as poor convergence,poor noise resistance,and long iteration *** this paper,a fractional order distance regularized level set segmentation method with bias correction is *** method firstly introduces fractional order distance regularized term to punish the deviation between the level set function(LSF)and the signed distance *** a series of covering template is constructed to calculate fractional derivative and its conjugate of image *** introducing the offset correction term and fully using the local clustering property of image intensity,the local clustering criterion of image intensity is defined and integrated with the neighborhood center to obtain the global criterion of image ***,the fractional distance regularization,offset correction,and external energy constraints are combined,and the energy optimization segmentation method for noisy image is established by level *** results show that the proposed method can accurately segment the image,and effectively improve the efficiency and robustness of exiting state of the art level set related algorithms.
