Ma-Mu-Ran Antidiarrheal Capsules(MMRAC)is traditional Chinese medicine that has been used to treat diarrhea caused by acute enteritis(AE)and bacillary dysentery in Xinjiang(China)for many ***,the potential therapeutic mechanism of MMRAC for AE and its regulatory mechanism on host metabolism is *** study used fecal metabolomics profiling with GC/MS and 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis to explore the potential regulatory mechanisms of MMRAC on a dextran sulfate sodium salt(DSS)-induced mouse model of *** metabolomics-based analyses were performed to detect the differentially expressed metabolites and metabolic *** 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis was used to assess the altered gut microbes at the genus level and for functional ***,Pearson correlation analysis was used to integrate differentially expressed metabolites and altered bacterial *** results revealed that six intestinal bacteria and seven metabolites mediated metabolic disorders(i.e.,metabolism of amino acid,carbohydrate,cofactors and vitamins,and lipid)in AE ***,ten altered microbes mediated the differential expression of eight metabolites and regulated these metabolisms after MMRAC ***,these findings demonstrate that AE is associated with metabolic disorders and microbial ***,we present that MMRAC exerts protective effects against AE by improving host metabolism through the intestinal flora.

AIM： To identify the decreasing effect of xenotransplantion in combination with privileged sites on rejection and death of biological semipermeable membrane-（BSM） encapsulated implanted islets. METHODS： After the BSM experiment in vitro, BSM- encapsulated SD rat＇s islet-like cell clusters （ICCs） were xenotransplanted into normal dog＇s brain. Morphological changes were observed under light and transmission electron microscope. The islets and apoptosis of implanted B cells were identified by insulin-TONEL double staining. RESULTS： The BSM used in our study had a favorable permeability, some degree of rigidity, lighter foreign body reaction and toxicity. The grafts consisted of epithelioid cells and loose connective tissue. Severe infiltration of inflammatory cells was not observed. The implanted ICCs were identified 2 mo later and showed typical apoptosis. CONCLUSION： BSM xenotransplantation in combination with the privileged site can inhibit the rejection of implanted heterogeneous ICCs, and death of implanted heterogeneous B cells is associated with apoptosis. 2005 The WJG Press and Elsevier Inc. Objective To investigate the molecular mechanism of nectin-like molecule 1(NECL1) inhibiting the migration and invasion of U251 glioma *** We infected U251 glioma cells with adeno-nectin-like molecule 1(Ad-NECL1) or empty adenovirus(Ad).Transwell and wound healing assays were performed to observe the migration of U251 cells incubated with the cell supernatant from Ad-NECL1 or Ad infected U251 *** microarray was applied to screen the gene expression profile after the restoration of NECL1 in U251 glioma cell *** differential expression of osteopontin(OPN),a gene related to migration and invasion,was further analyzed with semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),Western blot,and *** The restoration of NECL1 inhibited migration of U251 cells significantly(P<0.05).Altogether 195 genes were found differentially expressed by microarray,in which 175 were up-regulated and 20 down-regulated,including 9 extracellular matrix proteins involved in the migration of *** mRNA and protein expressions of OPN,the most markedly reduced extracellular matrix protein,were found decreased in U251 cells after restoration of *** assay also detected an increase of OPN in glioma tissues,related with the progressing of malignant *** A link might exist between NECL1 and the extracellular matrix protein OPN in inhibiting the migration and invasion of U251 glioma cells.

China has established the largest clean coal-fired power generation system in the world by accomplishing the technological transformation of coal-fired power plants(CFPPs)to achieve ultra-low *** potential for further particulate matter(PM)emission reduction to achieve near-zero emission for CFPPs has become a hotspot *** this study,PM emission from some ultra-low emission CFPPs adopting advanced air pollutant control technologies in China was *** results revealed that the average filterable particulate matter(FPM)concentration,measured as the total particulate matter(TPM)according to the current national monitoring standard,was(1.67±0.86)mg/m^(3),which could fully achieve the ultra-low emission standard for key regions(5 mg/m^(3)),but that achieving the near-zero emission standard was difficult(1 mg/m^(3)).However,the condensable particulate matter(CPM),with an average concentration of(1.06±1.28)mg/m^(3),was generally ignored during monitoring,which led to about 38.7%underestimation of the *** considering both FPM and CPM,the TPM emission from current CFPPs would contribute to less than 5%of atmospheric PM_(2.5) concentrations in the key cities and regions in ***,further reduction in FPM emission proposed by the near-zero emission plan of CFPPs may have less environmental benefit than emission control of other anthropogenic ***,it is suggested that the management of CPM emission should be strengthened,and a national standard for CPM emission monitoring based on the indirect dilution method should be established for *** measurements are helpful for optimal operation of air pollutant control devices and continuously promoting further emission reduction.

We present LAMOST data on 168 γ Doradus(γ Dor) pulsating stars including stellar atmospheric parameters of 137 variables and spectral types for all of the samples. The distributions of period(P), temperature(T), gravitational acceleration(log(g)) and metallicity [Fe/H] are shown. It is found that most γ Dor variables are main-sequence stars with early F spectral types and temperatures from 6880 K to7280 K. They are slightly more metal poor than the Sun with a metallicity range from-0.4 to 0. On the H-R and log g-T diagrams, both the γ Dor and δ Scuti(δ Sct) stars occupy in the same region and some are beyond the borders predicted by current stellar pulsation theories. It is discovered that the physical properties of γ Dor stars are similar to those of long-period δ Sct(P > 0.3 d) stars. The stellar atmospheric parameters are all correlated with the pulsation period for short-period δ Sct variables(P < 0.3 d), but there are no such relations for γ Dor or long-period δ Sct stars. These results reveal that γ Dor and long-period δ Sct are the same group of pulsating stars and they are different from short-period δ Sct variables. Meanwhile, 33γ Dor stars are identified as candidates of binary or multiple systems.

As an eclipsing polar with a 3.39 h orbital period, MN Hya was going through a state change when we observed it during 2009-2016. Ten new mid-eclipse times, along with others obtained from literature, allow us to give a new ephemeris. The residuals of a linear fit show that period decreased during the phase of state change, which means angular momentum was lost during this phase. The associated X-ray observation indicates the mass accretion rate was about 3.6 x 10^-9 Mo yr^-1. The period decrease indicates that at least 60% of mass being transferred from the secondary was lost, maybe in the form of spherically symmetric stellar wind. In the high state, the data show the intensity of flickering reduced when the system had a higher accretion rate, and that flickering sticks out with a primary timescale of about 2 min, which implies the position of the threading point was about 30 white dwarf radii above its surface. The trend of light curves for the system in its high state follows that of the low state for a large fraction of the phase interval from phase 0 to phase 0.4 since, starting at phase 0.4, the cyclotron feature is visible, and the primary intensity hump of the light curves near phase 0.7 when the system is in the high state did not appear on the curve when it was in the low state. Those facts contradict predictions of the two-pole model.
