Visible-light-responsive homologous heterostructure of oxynitrides constructed to boost charge separation and water splitting

Constructing type II heterostructures represents a widely recognized strategy for enhancing charge separation and photocatalytic efficiency,but it remains challenging to fabricate homologous heterostructures based on visible-light-responsive semiconductors,especially for popularly investigated （oxy）nitrides with low thermal ***,we synthesized a homologous heterostructure （denoted as YTON＿h） based on the oxynitrides of YTaO4-xNyand YTa *** heterostructure exhibits type II band structure alignment and intimate interface achieved through a magnesium （Mg） powder-assisted nitridation *** with widely reported heterologous heterostructures,the as-obtained YTON＿h homologous heterostructure could similarly exhibit enhanced charge separation as well as photocatalytic water splitting performance with respect to its counterparts(YTaO4-xNyand YTaON2).Meanwhile,detailed structural characterizations and spectroscopy analysis have been made to confirm the formation of heterostructure and promotion of spatial charge separation.

Measurements of brightness temperatures from Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A （AMSU-A） temperature sounding instruments onboard NOAA Polar- orbiting Operational Environmental Satellites （POES） have been extensively used for studying atmospheric temperature trends over the past several decades. Inter- sensor biases, orbital drifts and diurnal variations of atmospheric and surface temperatures must be considered before using a merged long-term time series of AMSU-A measurements from NOAA- 15, - 18, - 19 and MetOp-A. We study the impacts of the orbital drift and orbital differences of local equator crossing times （LECTs） on temperature trends derivable from AMSU-A using near-nadir observa- tions from NOAA-15, NOAA-18, NOAA-19, and MetOp-A during 1998 - 2014 over the Amazon rainforest. The double difference method is firstly applied to estimation of inter-sensor biases between any two satellites during their overlapping time period. The inter-calibrated observations are then used to generate a monthly mean diurnal cycle of brightness temperature for each AMSU-A channel. A diurnal correction is finally applied each channel to obtain AMSU-A data valid at the same local time. Impacts of the inter-sensor bias correction and diurnal correction on the AMSU-A derived long-term atmospheric temperature trends are separately quantified and compared with those derived from original data. It is shown that the orbital drift and differences of LECT among different POESs induce a large uncertainty in AMSU-A derived long-term warming/cooling trends. After applying an inter-sensor bias correction and a diurnal correction, the warming trends at different local times, which are approximately the same, are smaller by half than the trends derived without applying these corrections.

Catalyst–support interaction plays a crucial role in improving the catalytic activity of oxygen evolution reaction(OER).here we modulate the catalyst–support interaction in polyaniline-supported Ni_(3)Fe oxide(Ni_(3)Fe oxide/PANI)with a robust hetero-interface,which significantly improves oxygen evolution activities with an overpotential of 270 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and specific activity of 2.08 mA cm_(ECSA)^(-2)at overpotential of 300 mV,3.84-fold that of Ni_(3)Fe *** is revealed that the catalyst–support interaction between Ni_(3)Fe oxide and PANI support enhances the Ni–O covalency via the interfacial Ni–N bond,thus promoting the charge and mass transfer on Ni_(3)Fe *** the excellent activity and stability,rechargeable Zn-air batteries with optimum Ni_(3)Fe oxide/PANI are assembled,delivering a low charge voltage of 1.95 V to cycle for 400 h at 10 mA cm^(-2).The regulation of the effect of catalyst–support interaction on catalytic activity provides new possibilities for the future design of highly efficient OER catalysts.

The optimization of silicon sheet from powder (SSP) technology as polycrystalli ne silicon thin film (poly-CSiTF) solar cells' substrate materials is studied by orthogonal design experimental method. Based on technological optimization of S SP prepared from electronic grade silicon powder, SSP solar cell devices with si mple structure are prepared and the effect of SSP substrate is discussed. Up to now, the conversion efficiency of the prepared solar cells on low purity SSP sub strate with fundamental structure has reached 8.25% (with area of 1cm×1cm).

A reactive co-deposition processing for obtaining high-quality single-phase Bi2Sr2Cax-1CuxOy （Bi2212） thin films has been investigated using molecular beam epitaxy （MBE） with 2.7 ×10^-3pa ozone gas introduction for oxidation. The thin films with a constant composition of almost 2 ： 2 ： 1 ： 2 were designed to be fabricated at the substrate temperature between 675 and 780℃, the substrate temperature dependence of the surface morphology and the emergence phases were investigated in detail. A noticeable result is that the distribution of Cu element in the thin films is sensitively changed with the substrate temperature. At 750℃ it is inclined to locate in the periphery of each grain through the diffusion process. At 780℃ the Cu-compositional fluctuation brought around the dendritic crystal growth in the thin films. Below 705℃, the Bi2212 single-phase cannot be achieved in the thin films.

The Ti-48Al alloy was pack siliconized with 15%Si+85%Al2O3. The microstructure of the siliconized coating on the TiAl-based alloy was analyzed and its effect on oxidation resistance was investigated. The specimens before and after cycle oxidation were examined by xRD and SEM equipped with xEDS. The results showed that the coating is composed of a thin Al2O3 outer layer and a composite inner layer of Ti5Si3 with an appropriate amount of Al2O3 dispersed in. Cycle oxidation tests showed that the high temperature oxidation resistance of TiAl-based alloy was greatly improved by forming such composite coating. No spaliation and crack happened and the weight gain was very small after cycle oxidation at 900℃ for 314h.

By the sessile drop technique, the wettability of Cu/W systems with the additions of Ni and Cr has been studied under vacuum atmosphere. Effects of Ni and Cr contents and wetting temperatures on the wettability and the wetting mechanisms of copper on W substrate have been investigated in detail. The results show that the wetting angles of Cu on the W substrate are decreased with an increase in the content of Ni or Cr, and also decrease with raising the wetting temperatures. SEM, EPMA, and x-ray diffraction have been used to analyze the interracial characteristics of the CuNi/W and CuCr/W systems. The results reveal that there is a transition layer about 2- 3μm in the interface of Cu-4.0 wt pct Ni/W, in which the interrnetallic phase Ni4W is precipitated. As to CuCr/W system, no reaction occurs at the interface. The two factors are that the contents of Cr and Ni and the infiltration temperature must be chosen appropriately in order to control the interfacial dissolution and reaction when the Cu- W alloys are prepared by the infiltration method.

Solutions for radial flow of a Bingham fluid are analyzed in this *** aims to eliminate confusions in the literature concerning the plug flow region in different solutions for analysis and design of grouting in rock *** analyses based on the force balance equation reveal that the plug flow region in Bingham radial flow is independent of the fracture radius,and is not a growth function adapted from the solution of one-dimensional(1D)slit flow according to‘similarity’.Based on the shear stress distribution,we analytically proposed that a non-uniform plug flow region cannot *** Bingham fluid(grout)penetration and flowrate evolution as functions of grouting time are given using the correct expression for the plug flow *** radius-independent plug flow region and the presented flowrate evolution equation are also verified *** radial flow,the relative penetration length is equal to the relative width of plug flow region,which is the same as that for 1D channel *** in analytical solutions for grout penetration and flowrate evolution were also *** clarification of the plug flow region and evaluation of discrepancies in analytical solutions presented in this work could simplify modeling and design of grouting in rock engineering applications.
