Purpose:The present work examines the associations of dietary habits,sedentarism,physical activity(PA)levels and sleep habits,with thyroid function in young euthyroid ***:A total of 105 young euthyroid adults participated in this cross-sectional *** function was determined in fasting conditions(>6 h).Dietary habits were measured by a food frequency questionnaire and three non-consecutive 24 h recalls,and different dietary intake and patterns were then *** time spent in sedentary,PA levels and sleep habits were objectively measured using a wrist-worn ***:Energy and carbohydrate intake were positively associated with thyroid stimulating hormone(TSh)(β=0.222;R^(2)=0.102;P=0.022 andβ=0.425;R^(2)=0.129;P=0.007,respectively)whereas fat intake was negatively associated with TSh(β=-0.428;R^(2)=0.137;P=0.004).Energy intake was also positively associated with free triiodothyronine(β=0.277;R^(2)=0.137;P=0.004).Further,adherence to the Mediterranean diet was negatively related to TSh and free thyroxine(FT4)(β=-0.221;R^(2)=0.113;P=0.020 andβ=-0.268;R^(2)=0.071;P=0.007,respectively).Vigorous-intensity and overall PA were negatively associated with FT4(β=-0.227;R^(2)=0.052;P=0.022 andβ=-0.204;R^(2)=0.042;P=0.041,respectively).In contrast,no associations were found between sleep parameters and thyroid ***:Lifestyle factors such as dietary intake and PA levels seems to be related to thyroid function even in young euthyroid adults.

Purpose:This study aimed to quantify the dose-response association and the minimal effective dose of leisure-time physical activity(PA)to prevent mortality and cardiovascular disease in adults with type 2 ***:Cross-country comparison of 2 prospective cohort studies including 14,913 and 17,457 population-based adults with type 2 diabetes from the UK and *** leisure-time PA was self-reported and categorized by metabolic equivalent hours per week(MET-h/week)according to World health Organization recommendations:none,below recommendation(>0-7.49 MET-h/week);at recommended level(7.5-14.9 MET-h/week);above recommendation(>15 MET-h/week).Mortality and cardiovascular disease data were obtained from national ***:During a median follow-up of 12.4 and 9.7 years,in the UK and China cohorts,repectively,higher levels of leisure-time PA were inversely associated with all-cause(1571 and 2351 events)and cardiovascular mortality(392 and 1060 events),mostly consistent with a linear dose-response *** below,at,and above recommendations,compared with no activity,yielded all-cause mortality hazard ratios of0.94(95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.79-1.12),0.90(95%CI:0.74-1.10),and 0.85(95%CI:0.70-1.02)in British adults and 0.87(95%CI:0.68-1.10),0.88(95%CI:0.74-1.03),and 0.77(95%CI:0.70-0.85)in Chinese *** with cardiovascular mortality were more pronounced in British adults(0.80(95%CI:0.58-1.11),0.75(95%CI:0.52-1.09),and 0.69(95%CI:0.48-0.97))but less pronounced in Chinese adults(1.06(95%CI:0.76-1.47),1.01(95%CI:0.80-1.28),and 0.79(95%CI:0.69-0.92)).PA at recommended levels was not associated with lower rates of major adverse cardiovascular events(2345 and 4458 events).Conclusion:Leisure-time PA at the recommended levels was not convincingly associated with lower mortality and had no association with risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in British or Chinese adults with type 2 ***-time PA above current recom

Advances in image quality in recent decades have made it necessary to develop new technologies for producing displays to meet remarkably stricter standards. The display market is governed mainly by liquid crystal display and light-emitting diode （LED） technology; however, it suffers from limitations that can be overcome by developing the next generation of electroluminescent displays. The introduction of colloidal quantum dots （QDs） as down-converters has enabled the production of displays with extremely high color purity and gamut. Therefore, colloidal nanocrystals are excellent candidates for the preparation of electroluminescent devices, which represent a straightforward approach to the development of unprecedented high-quality displays. We synthesized light-emitting QDs covering the entire visible spectrum with high fluorescence quantum yields and color purity, and produced high-brightness single-color LEDs with external quantum efficiencies of 0.39%, 1.04%, 2.10%, and 1.30% for red-, orange-, green-, and blue-emitting dots, respectively. Additional136 white LEDs were prepared by mixing QDs; they showed color temperatures of 5,300 K and color rendering indices exceeding 80%. Very importantly, we exhaustively characterized the LED performance, including the response time, stability, and evolution of the light characteristics, thus providing crucial information toward the development of high-quality electroluminescent displays.

We review steady spherically symmetric accretion onto a renormalization group improved Schwarzschild space-time,which is a solution to an asymptotically safe theory(AS)containing high-derivative *** use a hamiltonian dynamical system approach for the analysis of the accretion of four types of isothermal test fluids:ultra-stiff fluid,ultra-relativistic fluid,radiation fluid,and sub-relativistic *** important outcome of our study is that,contrary to the claim in a recent work,there are physical solutions for the accretion of an ultra-relativistic fluid in AS,which include subsonic,supersonic,and transonic ***,we study quantum corrections to the known stability of the accretion in general relativity(GR).To this end,we use a perturbative procedure based on the continuity equation with the mass accretion rate being the perturbed *** classes of perturbations are studied:standing and traveling *** find that quantum gravity effects either enhance or diminish the stability of the accretion depending on the type of test fluid and the radial distance to the central object.

This study aimed review studies conducted on Mexican patients diagnosed with gastric cancer and/or diseases associated with its development,in which at least one Mexican institute has participated,and to assess their contributions to the primary and secondary prevention of this disease.A search of the Medline database was conducted using the following keywords:gastric/stomach cancer,*** of the Mexican population were selected in which at least one Mexican Institute had participated and where the findings could support public policy proposals directed towards the primary or secondary prevention of gastric *** the148 studies found in the Medline database,100 were discarded and 48 were *** to the analysis presented,these studies were classified as:epidemiology of gastric cancer(5/48);risk factors and protectors relating to gastric cancer(9/48);relationship between helicobacter pylori and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(16/48);relationship between the Epstein-Barr virus and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(3/48);molecular markers for the development of diseases associated with gastric cancer and gastric cancer(15/48).Mexico requires a program for the prevention and control of gastric cancer based on national health *** should be produced by a multidisciplinary committee of experts who can propose actions that are relevant in the current national *** few studies of gastric cancer conducted on the Mexican population in national institutes highlight the poor connection that currently exists between the scientific community and the health sector in terms of resolving this health *** policies for health research should support projects with findings that can be translated into benefits for the *** review serves to identify national research groups studying gastric cancer in the Mexican population.
