Feature Subset Selection(FSS)is an NP-hard problem to remove redundant and irrelevant features particularly from medical data,and it can be effectively addressed by metaheuristic ***,existing binary versions of metaheuristic algorithms have issues with convergence and lack an effective binarization method,resulting in suboptimal solutions that hinder diagnosis and prediction *** paper aims to propose an Improved Binary Quantum-based Avian Navigation Optimizer Algorithm(IBQANA)for FSS in medical data preprocessing to address the suboptimal solutions arising from binary versions of metaheuristic *** proposed IBQANA’s contributions include the hybrid Binary Operator(hBO)and the Distance-based Binary Search Strategy(DBSS).hBO is designed to convert continuous values into binary solutions,even for values outside the[0,1]range,ensuring accurate binary *** the other hand,DBSS is a two-phase search strategy that enhances the performance of inferior search agents and accelerates *** combining exploration and exploitation phases based on an adaptive probability function,DBSS effectively avoids local *** effectiveness of applying hBO is compared with five transfer function families and thresholding on 12 medical datasets,with feature numbers ranging from 8 to 10,***'s effectiveness is evaluated regarding the accuracy,fitness,and selected features and compared with seven binary metaheuristic ***,IBQANA is utilized to detect *** results reveal that the proposed IBQANA outperforms all comparative algorithms on COVID-19 and 11 other medical *** proposed method presents a promising solution to the FSS problem in medical data preprocessing.

Farmland Fertility Algorithm(FFA)is a recent nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm for solving optimization ***,FFA has some drawbacks:slow convergence and imbalance of diversification(exploration)and intensification(exploitation).An adaptive mechanism in every algorithm can achieve a proper balance between exploration and *** literature shows that chaotic maps are incorporated into metaheuristic algorithms to eliminate these ***,in this paper,twelve chaotic maps have been embedded into FFA to find the best numbers of prospectors to increase the exploitation of the best promising ***,the Quasi-Oppositional-Based Learning(QOBL)mechanism enhances the exploration speed and convergence rate;we name a CQFFA *** improvements have been made in line with the weaknesses of the FFA algorithm because the FFA algorithm has fallen into the optimal local trap in solving some complex problems or does not have sufficient ability in the intensification *** results obtained show that the proposed CQFFA model has been significantly *** is applied to twenty-three widely-used test functions and compared with similar state-of-the-art algorithms statistically and ***,the CQFFA algorithm has evaluated six real-world engineering *** experimental results showed that the CQFFA algorithm outperforms other competitor algorithms.

Effect of nanotechnology on heavy metal removal from aqueous solution

The effect of nanotechnology on cadmium and zinc removal from aqueous solution was investigated. In order to characterize micro and nano phragmites australis adsorbent, we analyzed the data via FTIR, SEM, PSA, and EDX. The effect of various parameters such as p h, contact time, amount of adsorbent and initial concentration, was investigated. The optimum p h for the removal of cadmium for micro and nano phragmites australis adsorbent was 7, and for the removal of zinc by the micro adsorbent was 7 and by nano adsorbent was 6. The equilibrium time of zinc was 90 min and for the adsorption of cadmium by micro and nano adsorbent were 90 and 30 min, respectively. The optimum dose of micro adsorbent for the removal of cadmium was 0.7 g, and the other dose for the removal of zinc and cadmium was 0.5 g. The evaluation of adsorbent's distribution coefficient showed that the highest rates of distribution coefficient with initial concentration of 5, 10, 30, and 50 mg/L were 394.83, 587.62, 759.39 and 1101.52 L/kg, respectively, which were observed in nano adsorbent. Desorption experiments for the nano adsorbent in three cycles were done. Among kinetics models, our experimental data were more consistent with hoo kinetic model and for isotherm models, Freundlich isotherm was more consistent. The results show that nanotechnology could increase the performance of adsorbents and enhance the efficiency of the adsorption of cadmium and zinc ions.

The catalytic activity of CoMoS /CNT towards the Egyptian heavy vacuum gas oil hydrotreating was studied. The delivered CNT was functionalized with 6 mol /L hNO_3. The CNT were loaded with 12% MoO_3( by weight) and 0.7 Co /Mo atomic ratio with impregnation methods. The γ-Al_2O_3 catalyst was also prepared by impregnation method to compare both catalysts *** analysis tools such XRD,Raman spectroscopy,TEM,and BET were used to characterize the catalysts. The autoclave reactor was used to operate the hydrotreating experiments. The hydrotreating reactions were tested at various operating conditions of temperature 325-375 ℃,pressure 2-6 MPa,time 2-6 h,and catalyst /oil ratio( by weight) of 1 ∶75,1 ∶33 and 1 ∶10. The results revealed that the CoMoS /CNT was highly efficient for the hydrotreating more than the CoMoS /γ-Al_2O_3. Also, the hydrodesulfurization( hDS) increased with increasing catalyst /oil ratio. Additionally,results showed that the optimum condition was temperature 350℃,pressure 4 MPa,catalyst /oil ratio of 1 ∶75 for 2 h. Furthermore,even at low CoMoS /CNT catalyst /oil ratio of 1 ∶75,an acceptable hDS of 77.1% was achieved.

Selenium sulfide(SeS2)cathodes have attracted much concern as an optimized choice comparing to sulfur and selenium for lithium and sodium ***,it also suffers from poor cycling stability due to the dissolution of reaction intermediate *** this study,N-doped Interconnected carbon aerogels was applied as an efficient SeS2 host by infiltrating selenium sulfide into its microporous structure(denoted as SeS2@NCAs),which could effectively accommodate the volume change of SeS2 during cycling and alleviate the dissolution of reaction intermediate ***,as for Na storage,the SeS2@NCAs cathode delivers a superior long-term cycling performance of 536 mA·h·g^-1 at a current density of 0.5 A·g^-1 after 1,000 cycles with only 0.04%capacity decline per cycle and a high rate performance(524 mA·h·g^-1 at 2 A·g^-1 and 745 mA·h·g^-1 at 0.1 A·g^-1 retained),indicating the remarkable cycling stability of SeS2@NCAs cathodes.

In order to investigate the influence of functional polymorphisms of macrophage migration inhibitory factor （M/F）, Fcg receptors CD16A （FCGR3A） and CD32A （FCGR2A） genes on susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis （PTB） in the Moroccan population, we analyzed 123 patients with PTB and 154 healthy controls. The genotyping for M/F-173 （G/C）（rs755622）, FCGR2A- 131h/R （rs 1801274） and FCGR3A-158V/F （rs396991） was carried out using TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assay method. We found a statistically significant in- crease of the MIF-173CC homozygote genotype and M/F-173＂C allele frequencies in PTB patients compared with healthy controls （17.07% versus 5.84%, P = 0.003; and 35.37% versus 26.30%, P = 0.02; respectively）. In contrast, no association was observed between FCGR2A-131h/R and FCGR3A-158V/F polymorphisms and tuberculosis disease. Our finding suggests that M/F-173℃ variant may play an important role in the development of active tuberculosis.

In Egypt, oranges are the most important citrus crops for local consumption or export. It represents approximately 72.2% of the total Egyptian citrus production in 2019/2020. The main cultivated variety of orange is the Washington navel orange and it is more popular because of its delicious taste, nutrition, and its seedless besides being rich in vitamin C. Washington navel orange is susceptible to fruit cracking, and it is a common physiological disorder that takes place during fruit development. This work aims to investigate the negative effect of fruit cracking in reducing the yield and quality of Washington navel orange produced in Egypt by studying major economic indicators and estimating an economical evaluation of using treatment of Washington navel orange during the period time of 2007/2008 until 2019/2020. Results showed that fruit areas and production of Washington navel orange represented about 52.9% and 53.2% of fruit areas and production of orange during the study period. however, the yield was unstable with a significant annual growth rate of about 1.1%. Also, the last mentioned treatment achieved a high price for farmers by about 5.1% and total revenue of about 3.2% during the study period. Nowadays, Egypt has become the largest exporter of oranges in the world within the last year and the achieved earnings reached $661 million in 2019/2020. In addition, results showed that evaluation of using a treatment to reduce the rate of Washington navel orange cracking was economical to be applied.

Determining and Mapping Soil Erodibility Factor (Case Study: Yamchi Watershed in Northwest of Iran)

Among Universal Soil Erosion Equation (USLE) factors (R, K, L, S and P), Soil Erodibility Factor (K) is one of the most important and key factors which determines soil particles resistance to be detachment by water erosion (rainfall and/or runoff) forces. In fact, K factor is the rate of soil loss per rainfall erosion index unit and affected by 6 parameters including soil primary particles (silt, sand and clay), organic matter content and also permeability and structure of soil. The USLE nomograph is one of the most rapid and common methods for calculating K factor based on mentioned parameters. In this study, 38 samples of surface soil (0 - 15 cm) were collected from Yamchi watershed and the percentage of silt, sand, clay and organic matter content were determined in soil laboratory. Also textures of soil samples were determined to choice soil permeability and structure class codes based on United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) published information. Using USLE nomograph equation, K factor was calculated for each soil sample and based on kriging interpolation method, soil erodibility factor (K) map was constructed for entire study area which average soil erodibility factor and average standard error of interpolated map were 0.442 and 0.0076 t·ha·h·ha-1·Mj-1·mm-1, respectively.
