Controlled temperature-mediated curcumin release from magneto-thermal nanocarriers to kill bone tumors

Systemic chemotherapy has lost its position to treat cancer over the past years mainly due to drug resistance,side effects,and limited survival *** a plethora of local drug delivery systems to solve this issue,the combinatorial strategy of chemo-hyperthermia has recently received *** we developed a magneto-thermal nanocarrier consisted of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(SPIONs)coated by a blend formulation of a three-block copolymer Pluronic F127 and F68 on the oleic acid(OA)in which Curcumin as a natural and chemical anti-cancer agent was *** subsequent nanocarrier SPION@OA-F127/F68-Cur was designed with a controlled gelation temperature of the shell,which could consequently control the release of *** release was systematically studied as a function of temperature and ph,via response surface methodology(rSM).The bone tumor killing efficacy of the released curcumin from the carrier in combination with the hyperthermia was studied on MG-63 osteosarcoma cells through Alamar blue assay,live-dead staining and apoptosis caspase 3/7 activation *** was found that the shrinkage of the F127/F68 layer stimulated by elevated temperature in an alternative magnetic field caused the curcumin *** the maximum release concentration and cell death took place at 45℃,treatment at 41℃ was chosen as the optimum condition due to considerable cell apoptosis and lower side effects of mild *** cell metabolic activity results confirmed the synergistic effects of curcumin and hyperthermia in killing MG-63 osteosarcoma cells.

Solar and wind energy potential assessment for razavi Khorasan Province in Iran

This study aims to evaluate the solar and wind energy potential across razavi Khorasan Province,Iran,with a specific focus on the Khaf region.A preliminary assessment of mean solar radiation,mean wind speeds,and Weibull distribution parameters was conducted for different towns and zones within the *** findings showed that Khaf has favorable characteristics for further *** solar and wind energy metrics examined include global horizontal irradiance,clearness index,wind rose patterns,and turbulence *** a height of 40 m,Khaf’s wind power density reached 1650 W/m^(2),indicating exceptional wind energy generation ***,Khaf received an average annual solar radiation of 2046 kW·h/m^(2),representing significant solar energy *** these substantial renewable resources in Khaf could allow razavi Khorasan Province to reduce reliance on fossil fuels,improve energy sustainability,and mitigate climate change *** research contributes an in-depth assessment of razavi Khorasan's solar and wind energy potential,particularly for the promising Khaf *** work may examine optimal sites for renewable energy projects and grid integration strategies to leverage these resources.

Etiology of Pancytopenia in Tabriz Shahid Ghazi hospital:A Cross-sectional Study in Iran

Effect of Oxidizing Atmosphere on the Surface of Titanium Dental Implant Material

Direct oxidation is a simple and effective method for titanium surface *** this research,a titanium sample was directly oxidized at the high temperature in two different atmospheres,air and pure oxygen,to obtain better atmosphere for titanium surface *** results of the raman spectroscopy indicated that in both atmospheres,the rutile bioactive phase(TiO2)has been formed on the titanium *** results of X-ray diffraction(XrD)also revealed that the surface of oxygen-treated sample was composed of the rutile phase and titanium monoxide(TiO),while at the surface of the air-treated sample,the rutile phase and titanium dioxide had been ***,the results of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FE-SEM)showed that by the surface treatment of titanium in both atmospheres,some micro-features including cracks thinner than 30 nm were formed on the *** of more apatite forming ability and fewer water contact angle and more L-929 cell attachment of the air-treated titanium,it seemed that air,in comparison to the pure oxygen,is more promising atmosphere for the direct oxidation of titanium and improving its biofunctionalization.

Effect of Gaussian size distribution width on minimum fluidization velocity in tapered gas–solid fluidized beds

This paper investigated the effect of Gaussian distribution width,average particle diameter,particle loading,and the tapered angle on minimum fluidization velocity(U_(mf))by conducting extensive experiments in tapered fluidized *** powders with Gaussian size distribution and different distribution widths were used in the *** increase in U_(mf)with increasing the average particle diameter,particle loading,and the tapered angle was *** was also a nonmonotonic behavior of Umf as the Gaussian distribution width *** empirical correlation including dimensionless groups for predicting Umf in tapered beds was developed in which the effect of distribution width was *** proposed correlation predictions were in good agreement with the experimental data,with a maximum deviation of 16.5%and average and standard deviations of,respectively,6.4%and 7.4%.The proposed correlation was also compared with three earlier models,and their accuracy was discussed.

In this work,a kind of stabilized ferrofluid based on magnetite nanoparticles(mean core and its coating size about 21.9 and 1.6 nm,respectively)was synthesized via coprecipitation *** was used as surfactant due to its proper conjunction to the surface of magnetite *** density and synthesized ferrofluids were characterized by using transmission electron microscope,thermogravimetry analysis,dynamic light scattering and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy *** resonance imaging studies show that the synthesized ferrofluid can be used as a potential contrast enhancement agent especially for imaging lymphatic system.

Simulation of Case Depth of Cementation Steels According to Fick’s Laws

The carburizing process is the enrichment of the depth of low carbon steels with carbon. It leads to samples with a combination of high surface hardness and high core toughness and to an impact strength that is required for many engineering parts. The material studied is a low carbon steel. The carbon content is little in this type of steel （wc = 0.2 ~）. The calculation of case depth is very important for cementation steels that are hardened in the carburi- zing process. The effective case depth is defined as the perpendicular distance from the surface to a place at which the hardness is hV 550. Nowadays, a great number of studies have been carried out on the simulation of effective case depth, but no studies have been conducted to determine the numerical relation between the total case depth on one hand and the carburizing time and the effective case depth on the other hand. The steel specimens were subjected to graphite powder. Then, they were heat treated at 925 ~C for about 3, 5, 8 and 12 h, respectively. Then, these parts were quenched in oil. To determine the effective case depth, the micr0hardness test was performed on the cross-section of specimens. Plotting the case depth vs carburizing time, the required conditions for obtaining the specified case depth were determined. Also, the comparison between the case depths in numerical solution and the actual position in pack carburizing was performed.

Surface and thermal effects on vibration of embedded alumina nanobeams based on novel Timoshenko beam model

This paper deals with the free vibration analysis of circular alumina （Al2O3） nanobeams in the presence of surface and thermal effects resting on a Pasternak foun- dation. The system of motion equations is derived using hamilton＇s principle under the assumptions of the classical Timoshenko beam theory. The effects of the transverse shear deformation and rotary inertia are also considered within the framework of the mentioned theory. The separation of variables approach is employed to discretize the governing equa- tions which are then solved by an analytical method to obtain the natural frequencies of the alumina nanobeams. The results show that the surface effects lead to an increase in the natural frequency of nanobeams as compared with the classical Timoshenko beam model. In addition, for nanobeams with large diameters, the surface effects may increase the natural frequencies by increasing the thermal effects. Moreover, with regard to the Pasternak elastic foundation, the natural frequencies are increased slightly. The results of the present model are compared with the literature, showing that the present model can capture correctly the surface effects in thermal vibration of nanobeams.
