b.ckground: Th. introduction of antiretroviral (ARv) in res.urce-limited s.ttings.h.s.increas.d life exp.ctancy among non-b.h.v-1 infected individuals. We us.d a validated In-h.us. genotyp.ng as.ay to ch.racterize non-b.h.v-1 and to determine drug res.s.ance mutations.among treatment-naive p.tients. Meth.ds. p.as.a s.mp.es.from 105 h.v-1 infected drug-naive adult p.tients.attending a tertiary h.s.ital jos. Nigeria were s.b.ected to h.v-1 RNA extraction, revers. trans.rip.ion amp.ification, and p.p.lation-b.s.d s.quencing of th. p.rtial p.l gene on th. Ab. 3130xl genetic analyzer. s.b.yp.ng and p.0}logenetic analys.s.were p.rformed b. REGA s.b.yp.ng Tool v2.0 and MEGA v5.0 res.ectively. Drug res.s.ance p.ofiles.were evaluated according to IAs.Us. 2013 drug res.s.ance mutations.lis.. Res.lt: One h.ndred s.mp.es.(95.2%) were s.cces.fully genotyp.d. Th. dis.rib.tion of th. non-b.h.v-1 s.b.yp.s.were;CRF02_AG-48%, G-41.0%, CRF06_cp.-6.0%, and A-5.0%. Ten p.rcent of th. is.lates.h.d at leas. one major drug res.s.ance mutation in th. p.l gene. Th. drug-clas. s.ecific res.s.ance p.evalences.were 6.0% for NRTIs.M41L-1.0%, K65KR-1.0%, M184IM-1.0%, M184v-2.0%, and T215ADNT-1%, 8.0% for NNRTIs.K103N-2%, 1.0% for K101E, E138A, G190A, p.25h., Y181I, Y188L, Y181C including p.oteas. inh.b.tors. Q58E (1.0%). Conclus.on: h.v-1 was.h.terogeneous.y dis.rib.ted;CRF02_AG and G p.edominate and s.me known major mutations.as.ociated with.NRTIs.and NNRTIs.were determined. Th. In-h.us. as.ay is.s.itab.e for b.th.ch.racterization of non-b.h.v-1 s.b.yp.s.and detection of drug res.s.ance at a s.gnificant lower cos. th.n availab.e commercial genotyp.ng as.ays. Th.s.finding unders.ores.th. need to cons.der us. of low-cos. In-h.us. genotyp.ng as.ay as.an alternative in res.urce-limited s.ttings.with.non-b.h.v-1 ep.demic.

AIM To inves.igate th. effects.of orally gavaged aqueous.rh.b.rb.extract(RE) on 5-fluorouracil(5-FU)-induced intes.inal mucos.tis.in rats. METh.Ds.Female Dark Agouti rats.n = 8/group. were gavaged daily(1 mL) with.water, h.gh.dos. RE(h.R; 200 mg/kg) or low-dos. RE(LDR; 20mg/kg) for eigh. days. Intes.inal mucos.tis.was.induced(day 5) with.5-FU(150 mg/kg) via intrap.ritoneal injection. Intes.inal tis.ue s.mp.es.were collected for myelop.roxidas.(Mp.) activity and h.s.ological examination. Xenop.s.oocytes.exp.es.ing aquap.rin 4 water ch.nnels.were p.ep.red to examine th. effect of aqueous.RE on cell volume, indicating a p.tential mech.nis. res.ons.b.e for modulating net fluid ab.0}rp.ion and s.cretion in th. gas.rointes.inal tract. s.atis.ical s.gnificance was.as.umed at p.b. one-way ANOvA. REs.LTs.b.o d y w e i g h.t w a s.s.i g n i f i c a n t l y r e d u c e d i n r a t s.adminis.ered 5-FU comp.red to h.alth. controls.p.s.adminis.ered 5-FU s.gnificantly increas.d intes.inal Mp. levels.≥ 307%; p.p.red to h.alth. controls. h.wever, LDR attenuated th.s.effect in 5-FU treated rats. s.gnificantly decreas.ng ileal Mp. activity(b. 45%; p.s.comp.red to 5-FU controls. 5-FU s.gnificantly reduced intes.inal mucos.l th.cknes.(b. ≥ 29% p.s.comp.red to h.alth. controls. GW events.and a neutrino energy range of 1.8 to 100 Mev to s.arch.for correlated neutrino *** detected electron-antineutrino candidates.were cons.s.ent with.th. exp.cted b.ckground rates.for all th. th.ee time *** monoch.omatic s.ectra,we found up.er limits.90%confidence level)of th. electron-antineutrino fluence of(1.13-2.44)×10^(11)cm^(-2)at 5 Mev to 8.0×10^(7)cm^(-2)at 100 Mev for th. th.ee time w *** th. as.ump.ion of a Fermi-Dirac s.ectrum,th. up.er limits.were found to b.(5.4-7.0)×10^(9)cm^(2)for th. th.ee time windows.
