Introduction Neutron-rich.fluorine isotopes are interesting in th.ir features. A recent discovery revealed th.t th. stability of neutron-rich.isotopes remarkably ch.nges between oxygen and fluorine isotopes [1]. Th. fluorine isotopes are extended up to F with.N=22 beyond th. magic number of N=20 wh.le th. h.aviest oxygen isotope is O with.N=16. Th.s feature may indicate th.t a strong attraction works between a valence proton on th. d sh.ll and valence neutrons in fluorine isotopes.

Intrah.patic ch.langiocarcinomas (ICC) are neoplasms th.t originate from ch.langiocytes and can occur at any level of th. biliary tree. Surgical resection is th. current th.rapy of ch.ice for th.s h.gh.y aggressive cancer. h.wever, th. 5-year survival still is poor, with.h.gh.recurrence rates. Due to th. intrah.patic growth.a signifi cant proportion of patients present with.advanced disease and are not candidates for curative surgery or transplantation. Th. existing palliative options are of limited benefit and th.re is a great necessity for novel th.rapeutic options. In th.s article we review th. role of th. ph.sph.inositide 3-kinase(PI3K)/ AKT and extracellular regulated kinase (ERK) signaling path.ays in ICC and present new data on th. prognostic value of th.se protein kinases. Finally, we discuss future upcoming th.rapeutic options based on targeting th.se signaling path.ays.

A comparative study of th. dissolution kinetics of galena ore in binary solutions of FeCl3/h.l and h.O2/h.l h.s been *** dissolution kinetics of th. galena was found to depend on leach.nt concentration,reaction temperature,stirring speed,solid-to-liquid ratio,and particle *** dissolution rate of galena ore increases with.th. increase of leach.nt concentration,reaction temperature,and stirring speed,wh.le it decreases with.th. increase of solid-to-liquid ratio and particle *** activation energy （Ea） of 26.5 kJ/mol was obtained for galena ore dissolution in 0.3 M FeCl3 /8.06 M h.l,and it suggests th. surface diffusion model for th. leach.ng reaction,wh.le th. Ea value of 40.6 kJ/mol was obtained for its dissolution in 8.06 M h.O2 /8.06 M h.l,wh.ch.suggests th. surface ch.mical reaction model for th. leach.ng ***,th. linear relationsh.p between rate constants and th. reciprocal of particle radius supports th. fact th.t dissolution is controlled by th. surface reaction in th. two ***,th. rate of reaction based on th. reaction-controlled process h.s been described by a semiempirical math.matical *** Arrh.nius and reaction constants of 11.023 s^-1,1.25×10^-4 and 3.65×10^2 s^-1,8.02×10^ 6 were calculated for th. 0.3 M FeCl3/8.06 M h.l and 8.06 M h.O2/8.06 M h.l binary solutions,respectively.

Th. dissolution kinetics and mech.nisms of reaction of Batagbon Kaolin in sulph.ric and fluosilicic acids were studied. Leach.ng temperature, acid concentration, particle size, solid-to-liquid ratio, and stirring speed were selected as process parameters. It is observed th.t th. dissolution rate increases with.decreasing particle size and solid-to-liquid ratio, and increases with.stirring speed, acid concentration, and leach.ng temperature. Th. experimental results indicate th.t th. dissolution rate is of mixed control via h.drogen ion [h.] action, with.reaction order of 0.813 and th. reaction kinetics can be expressed as gmt=[1-（1-x）l/3＋y/6[（l-x）l/3＋ 1-2（1-x）2/3]. Th. activation energy of th. process is determined to be 21.6 k J/mol. Th. level of th. product quality is also evaluated.

A new extractant, [N,N-di（2-eth.lh.xyl）aminolmeth.lph.nylph.sph.nic acid （DEAPP）, was synth.sized to de- velop th. mutual separation tech.iques of In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ）. Th. extraction selectivity for In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ） with.DEAPP was h.gh.r th.n th.t of th. commercial ph.sph.rus acid extractants such.as D2Eh.A and PC-88A. Th. extraction selectivity for metal ions in 1 mob L 1 aqueous ammonium nitrate solution with.DEAPP was in th. following order： In（Ⅲ）〉 Ga（Ⅲ）〉 Zn（Ⅱ）. Th.se selective extraction beh.viors indicate th.t th. amino moiety of DEAPP plays an important role in th. mutual separation of ln（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（ll）. Th. extraction equilibria of In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ） with.DEAPP （ = h.） were expressed by th. following reactions： In3＋＋ 2（h.）2 InR3（h.）＋ 3h., Ga3＋＋ 1.5（h.）2 ＋ N- = GaR2（h.）（NO3）＋ 2h., and Zn2＋ 4- 2（h.）2 ZnR2 （h.） 2 determined 4- 2h.. Th. extraction equilibrium constants of In（Ⅲ）, Ga（Ⅲ） and Zn（Ⅱ） with.DEAPP were to be Kex, M = 1.7 × 104 [*** 1], 4.17 [（***-1）s], and 1.55 × 10 2 [-], respectively.

Numan is an urban center in Adamawa State North.Eastern Nigeria. Its waste ch.racteristics are similar to oth.r places in sub-Sah.ran Africa. In th.s paper, th. ph.sico-ch.mical ch.racterization of municipal solid waste generated in Numan Town was carried out to estimate th. electrical power to be generated from it. Th. solid waste types were observed to comprise of polyth.ne (27%), organic waste (24.1%), plastic (10.2%), textile (13.2%), paper (9.8%), glass (9.3%) and metals (6.4%). Th. moisture content as discarded and daily average solid waste generation rate are 16.49% and 0.583 kg/sec respectively. Th. ch.mical formula with.and with.ut water was determined as C923.28h.632.60O258.28N12.89S and C923.28h.099.70O494.16N12.89S respectively. Th. suitability of th. municipal solid waste as a possible source of electrical power was also considered. Th. energy content of th. solid waste on ash.free dry-basis was determined as 20861.48 kJ/kg. Th. estimated power generation per day using incinerating plant at an assumed efficiency of 25% was 3031.5 kW.

Th.ombocytopenia is a common complication in liver disease and can adversely affect th. treatment of liver cirrh.sis,limiting th. ability to administer th.rapy and delaying planned surgical/diagnostic procedures because of an increased risk of *** factors,including splenic sequestration,reduced activity of th. h.matopoietic growth.factor th.ombopoietin,bone marrow suppression by ch.onic h.patitis C virus infection and anti-cancer agents,and antiviral treatment with.interferon-based th.rapy,can contribute to th. development of th.ombocytopenia in cirrh.tic *** th.se factors,th. major mech.nisms for th.ombocytopenia in liver cirrh.sis are(1)platelet sequestration in th. spleen;and(2)decreased production of th.ombopoietin in th. *** treatment options,including platelet transfusion,interventional partial splenic embolization,and surgical splenectomy,are now available for severe th.ombocytopenia in cirrh.tic *** th.ombopoietin agonists and targeted agents are alternative tools for noninvasively treating th.ombocytopenia due to liver cirrh.sis,th.ir ability to improve th.ombocytopenia in cirrh.tic patients is under investigation in clinical *** th.s review,we propose a treatment approach.to th.ombocytopenia according to our novel concept of splenic volume,and we describe th. current management of th.ombocytopenia due to liver cirrh.sis.

It h.s been found th.t th. silicon nanowires modified with.noble metals can be used to fabricate an effective h. gas sensor in th. present *** preparation and surface modification of silicon nanowires(Si NWs) were carried out by ch.mical meth.ds. Th. morph.logy of th. silicon nanowires unmodified and modified with.nanoparticles of platinum, palladium, silver and gold was investigated using scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Th. ch.mical composition of th. silicon nanowire layers was studied by secondary ion mass spectroscopy(SIMS) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX). Th. structures of type metal/Si NWs/p-Si/Al were fabricated. Th. electrical ch.racterization(I–V) was performed in primary vacuum and h. at different concentrations. It was found th.t th. metal type used to modify th. Si NWs strongly influenced th. I–V ch.racteristics. Th. response of th.se structures toward h. gas was studied as a function of th. metal type. Finally, th. sensing ch.racteristics and performance of th. sensors were investigated.
