目的:老年人口的增加给公共健康带来了巨大的影响。了解老年人群骨骼肌肉疾病的进展情况非常重要。他们通常罹患多种健康问题且不断发展而处于一种复杂的状态之下。对于这些处于这样境况的病人而言,单纯分析某一种疾病的影响是不够的。...

目的:老年人口的增加给公共健康带来了巨大的影响。了解老年人群骨骼肌肉疾病的进展情况非常重要。他们通常罹患多种健康问题且不断发展而处于一种复杂的状态之下。对于这些处于这样境况的病人而言,单纯分析某一种疾病的影响是不够的。例如,在过去,我们对于背痛(腰部脊椎炎)和膝关节疼痛(骨性关节炎)积累了大量的数据。但是,我们需要进一步证实作为一种单纯的存在资料,对于正在步入老年的人而言是否仍有参考价值。这项研究的目的是从数学分析角度调查在老年人群中,后背与腰部的疼痛与病理生理学改变的关系的假设是否具有相关性。方法:我们募集了年龄在65岁到93岁间的314人,取自于5个矫形外科诊所的门诊和相关老年护理机构的病人。对他们随访并检查3次。收集不同的生物学数据包括既往史、小型体格检查、脊柱和膝关节X光、一些实验室检查、日常起居活动能力和社会参与度。就目前的调查数据看,我们的主要关注点放在疼痛区域(背痛、臀部痛、大腿痛、膝关节痛)与X线表现(计算机辅助定量诊断)的相互关系上。结果:对于疼痛而言,研究显示其分布的广泛性和复合性。有意思的是,腰背痛与膝关节痛具有高度的发生一致性,达2/3。在治疗的过程中疼痛呈现出不同的表现。在治疗期间,背痛与膝痛表现出同时的减轻,这令人吃惊,但臀部痛和大腿痛却无明显的改善。X线评估方面,我们评估了膝关节骨性关节炎和腰部脊椎炎之间的定量关系。结果显示T12/L2的椎间盘高度与膝关节疼痛具有明显的关系。在这些部位的椎间盘。通过L3椎体后缘标准化后的L2/L3的椎间盘高度与膝关节内侧间隙具有显著的相关性。在一例L2与L3腰椎间盘高度比例小于28%,且膝关节内侧间隙面积小于66 mm2的病例中,膝比例为16.1。结论:我们发现(1)L1/L23/L4椎间盘高度与膝关节疼痛有相关性,(2)在这些椎间盘中,L2/L3椎间盘的高度与膝关节内侧间隙有强烈的相关性,(3)可以计算出很高比率的膝关节疼痛。

The study of exotic structure of hadrons is fully achieved when reaction dynamics of the associated hadron productions is well understood. We employ as the standard mechanism the effective Lagrangian method and investigate several physical observables within the framework. The parameters are constrained by microscopic description of hadrons. We discuss photoproductions of kaon associated with the ground state A（1116） and its resonances A（1405） and A（1520）. In the former example we emphasize the meson cloud effect which significantly renormalizes the phenomenological parameters, while in the latter we discuss the features of the standard method. Finally we discuss briefly the N（1535） for the study of chiral symmetry of baryons. production of ηπ associated with the nucleon resonance

We report^(75) As nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)/nuclear quadrupole resonance(NQR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) studies on LaFeAsO_(1-x)F_x. There are two superconducting domes in this material. The first one appears at 0.03 ≤ x ≤0.2 with T_c^(max) = 27 K, and the second one at 0.25 ≤x≤0.75 with T_c^(max) = 30 K. By NMR and TEM, we demonstrate that a C4-to-C2 structural phase transition(SPT) takes place above both domes, with the transition temperature T_s varying strongly with x. In the first dome, the SPT is followed by an antiferromagnetic(AF) transition, but neither AF order nor low-energy spin fluctuations are found in the second dome. By ^(75) As nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate(1/T_1) measurements, we find that AF order and superconductivity coexist microscopically in LaFeAsO_(0.97) F_(0.03). In the coexisting region, 1/T_1 decreases at T_c but becomes proportional to T below 0.6 T_c, indicating gapless excitations. Therefore, in contrast to the early reports, the obtained phase diagram for x ≤ 0.2 is quite similar to the doped BaFe_2As_2 system. The electrical resistivity p in the second dome can be fitted by ρ = ρ0 + AT^n with n = 1 and a maximal coefficient A at around xopt = 0.5-0.55 at which T_s extrapolates to zero and Tc is the maximal, which suggests the importance of quantum critical fluctuations associated with the SPT. We have constructed a complete phase diagram of LaFeAsO_(1-x)F_x, which provides insight into the relationship between SPT, antiferromagnetism and superconductivity.

Plastic behaviour of TiAl polysynthetically twinned (PST) crystals is reviewed to show our knowledge and understanding for receiving a good combination of strength and ductility of two phase TiAl alloys under monotonic and cyclic loading conditions. Anisotropy and mechanism of strength, ductility, toughness. cyclic hardening and fatigue life are described focusing on the effect of lamellar structure.

Dear Editor, Prostate cancer （PCa） is the most frequently diagnosed male cancer in Western countries, and the number of PCa patients is also rapidly increasing in ]apan.1,2 Simultaneously, androgen deprivation therapy （ADT） has also been increasingly used in PCa patients in recent years2-5 however, the long-term use of ADT is associated with a variety of pivotal adverse events, including diabetes, anemia, osteoporosis, serum lipid profile changes, and cardiovascular disease （CVD）.1,2 higher low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C） and/or lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （hDL-C） are well-established risk factors for CVD, and control of their levels has been an important goal in the treatment and prevention of CVD.6,7 Recently, another alternative parameter, the LDL-C to hDL-C （L/h） ratio, has been reported to be strongly associated with CVD and is thought to be a better predictor of future CVD than LDL-C alone. Closely monitoring serum lipid profile, including the L/h ratio changes affected by ADT, is a key to preventing CVD in PCa patients. Moreover, we previously suggested that a higher L/h ratio might have an impact on the development of arterial stiffness after ADT administration,r Although some cutoff points of the L/h ratio have been reported in clinical use, it has been suggested that thrombosis can occur when the L/h ratio increases to around 2.5 or more in East Asian populations.6 The aim of the present study was to investigate the changes in serum lipid profile and to identify the clinical factors associated with an increased L/h ratio in PCa patients who received ADT.

AIM: To investigate the incidence of reflux esophagitis (RE) and h pylori infection in the diabetic patient. METhODS: The incidence of RE and h pylori infection were investigated in 85 patients with diabetes mellitus and the results were compared with controls. RESULTS: The incidence of RE in diabetic patients was 17.6%. Although this tended to be higher in diabetic patients, there were no statistically significant differences between diabetic patients and controls. The incidence of h pylori infection in diabetic patients was 53.7% but no statistically significant difference was seen between diabetic patients and controls in the incidence of h pylori infection. CONCLUSION: No significant differences could be seen between diabetic patients and controls in the incidence of RE and h pylori infection.

AIM:To clarify the clinicopathological significance of laminin-5 γ2 (LNγ2) and β3 (LNβ3) chains and MMP7 expression in biliary tract ***: We analyzed the association between immunohistochemically detected LNγ2, LNβ3, and MMP7 expression in biliary tract cancer and clinicopathological characteristics. Activity of MMP7 was analyzed by casein zymography. An in vitro invasion assay after treatment with MMP7-specific siRNA was ***: LNγ2 expression was predominantly observed in carcinoma cells at the invasive front. LNγ2 expression was seen in 57% of patients with biliary tract cancer, and was associated with depth of invasion, histologic type, and advanced stage. The expression pattern of LNβ3 was classified into two types: invasive front dominant type (38%) and diffuse type (28%).The invasive front dominant type was associated with histologic type and advanced stage. MMP7 positivity was correlated with LNγ2 or LNβ3 expression but not with clinicopathological characteristics. Active MMP7 detected by casein zymography was correlated with depth of invasion and advanced stage. Downregulation of MMP7 expression by siRNA resulted in a significant decrease in biliary tract cancer cell invasion in ***: Our results suggest that LNγ2 and LNβ3, in conjunction with MMP7, play a key role in the progression of biliary tract cancer.
