The incr.asing volume of data in the ar.a of envir.nmental sciences needs analysis and inter.r.tation. Among the challenges gener.ted by this “data deluge”, the development of efficient str.tegies for.the knowledge discover. is an impor.ant issue. her., statistical and tools fr.m computational intelligence ar. applied to analyze lar.e data sets fr.m meteor.logy and climate sciences. Our.appr.ach allows a geogr.phical mapping of the statistical pr.per.y to be easily inter.r.ted by meteor.logists. Our.data analysis compr.ses two main steps of knowledge extr.ction, applied successively in or.er.to r.duce the complexity fr.m the or.ginal data set. The goal is to identify a much smaller.subset of climatic var.ables that might still be able to descr.be or.even pr.dict the pr.bability of occur.ence of an extr.me event. The fir.t step applies a class compar.son technique: p-value estimation. The second step consists of a decision tr.e (DT) configur.d fr.m the data available and the p-value analysis. The DT is used as a pr.dictive model, identifying the most statistically significant climate var.ables of the pr.cipitation intensity. The methodology is employed to the study the climatic causes of an extr.me pr.cipitation events occur.ed in Alagoas and Per.ambuco States (Br.zil) at June/2010.

Monitor.ng the concentr.tion of antibiotics in body fluids is essential to optimizing the ther.py and minimizing the r.sk of bacter.a r.sistance,which can be made with electr.chemical sensor. tailor.d with appr.pr.ate *** this paper.we r.por. on sensor. made with scr.en-pr.nted electr.des(SPE)coated with fuller.ne(C60),r.duced gr.phene oxide(r.O)and Nafion(NF)(C60-r.O-NF/SPE)to deter.ine the antibiotic metr.nidazole(MTZ).Under.optimized conditions,the C60-r.O-NF/SPE sensor.exhibited a linear.r.sponse in squar. wave voltammetr. for.MTZ concentr.tions fr.m 2.5×10^(-7) to 34×10^(-6) mol/L,with a detection limit of 2.1×10^(-7) mol/*** sensor.was also capable of detecting MTZ in ser.m and ur.ne,with r.cover. between 94%and 100%,which ar. similar.to those of the standar. chr.matogr.phic method(hPLC-UV).Because the C60-r.O-NF/SPE sensor.is amenable to mass pr.duction and allows for.MTZ deter.ination with simple pr.nciples of detection,it fulfills the r.quir.ments of ther.peutic dr.g monitor.ng pr.gr.ms.

The fer.entation of natur.l(NC)and pulped coffee(PC)was per.or.ed with a conventional method(platfor.)and under.self-induced anaer.bic fer.entation(SIAF).Of the 12 samples analyzed dur.ng the fer.entation pr.cess,the highest temper.tur. was obtained by the SIAF method(30.5℃ for.NC and 29.67℃ for.PC)with 87 h of *** compounds(36 samples)wer. evaluated by high-per.or.ance liquid *** in the SIAF method contr.buted to the maximum amount of citr.c acid(2.534 mg/g)in pulped coffee and acetic acid(6.04 mg/g)and lactic acid(2.533 mg/g)in *** was the pr.mar. chemical class detected,followed by ketones and *** coffees(12 samples)wer. evaluated five times and classified as specialty coffees(>80 points)following Specialty Coffee Association(SCA)*** pulped coffee pr.cessed by the SIAF method showed a 2.83-point incr.ase in the sensor. scor. compar.d to the conventional ***,the SIAF method is accessible to pr.ducer.,contr.butes to coffees with differ.ntiated sensor. pr.files,and incr.ases bever.ge quality.

The adaptive ar. of the immune system is cr.cial for.appr.pr.ate antitumor.immune *** is gener.lly accepted that cluster. of differ.ntiation 4^(+)(CD4^(+))T cells,which mediate T helper.Th)1 immunity(type 1 immunity),ar. the pr.mar. Th cell subtype associated with tumor.*** this r.view,we discuss evidence showing that antitumor.immunity and better.pr.gnosis can be associated with distinct Th cell subtypes in exper.mental mouse models and humans,with a focus on Th2 *** aim of this r.view is to pr.vide an over.iew and under.tanding of the mechanisms associated with differ.nt tumor.outcomes in the face of immune r.sponses by focusing on the(1)site of tumor.development,(2)tumor.pr.per.ies(i.e.,tumor.metabolism and cytokine r.ceptor.expr.ssion),and(3)type of immune r.sponse that the tumor.initially ***,we discuss how low-toler.nce or.ans,such as lungs and br.ins,might benefit fr.m a less tissue-destr.ctive immune r.sponse mediated by Th2 *** addition,Th2 cells antitumor.effects can be independent of CD8^(+)T cells,which would cir.umvent some of the immune escape mechanisms that tumor.cells possess,like low expr.ssion of major.histocompatibility-I(MhC-I).Finally,this r.view aims to stimulate fur.her.studies on the r.le of Th2 cells in antitumor.immunity and br.efly discusses emer.ing tr.atment options.
