Regulation of floral senescence in Arabidopsis by coordinated action of CONsTANs and jasmonate signaling

In Arabidopsis,photoperiodic flowering is controlled by the regulatory hub gene CONsTANs(CO),whereas floral organ senescence is regulated by the jasmonates(JAs).Because these processes are chronologically ordered,it remains unknown whether there are common regulators of both *** this study,we discovered that CO protein accumulates in Arabidopsis flowers after floral induction,and it displays a diurnal pattern in floral organs different from that in the *** observed that altered CO expression could affect flower senescence and abscission by interfering with JA response,as shown by petal-specific transcriptomic analysis as we.l as CO overexpression in JA synthesis and signaling *** found that CO has a ZIM(ZINC-FINGeR INFlOResCeNCe MeRIsTeM)like domain that mediates its interaction with the JA response repressor JAZ3(jasmonate ZIM-domain 3).Their interaction inhibits the repressor activity of JAZ3,resulting in activation of downstream transcription factors involved in promoting flower ***,we showed that CO,JAZ3,and the e3 ubiquitin ligase COI1(Coronatine Insensitive 1)could form a protein complex in planta,which promotes the degradation of both CO and JAZ3 in the presence of *** together,our results indicate that CO,a key regulator of photoperiodic flowering,is also involved in promoting flower senescence and abscission by augmenting JA signaling and *** propose that coordinated recruitment of photoperiodic and JA signaling pathways could be an efficient way for plants to chronologically order floral processes and ensure the success of offspring production.

liquid-liquid interfacial tension of equilibrated mixtures of ionic liquids and hydrocarbons

Ionic liquids are possible alternative solvents for the separation of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons by liquid-liquid extrac- tion. Interfacial tension is an important property to consider in the design of liquid-liquid extraction processes. In this work, the.liquid-liquid interfacial tension and the mutual solubility at 25 °C have been measured for a series of biphasic, equilibrated mixtures of an ionic liquid and a hydrocarbon. In particular, the ionic liquids 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluorome- thanesulfonyl)imide (with the alkyl substituent being ethyl, hexyl or decyl), 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ethylsulfate, and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate have been selected, as we.l as the hydrocarbons benzene, hexane, ethylben- zene, and octane. The selected sets of ionic liquids and hydrocarbons allow the analysis of the influence of a series of effects on the interfacial tension. For example, the interfacial tension decreases with an increase in the.length of the alkyl substituent chain of the cation or with an increase of the degree of charge delocalisation in the anion of the ionic liquid. Also, the interfa- cial tension with the aromatic hydrocarbons is marke.ly lower than that with the aliphatic hydrocarbons. A smaller effect is caused by variation of the size of the hydrocarbon. some of the observed trends can be explained from the mutual solubility of the hydrocarbon and the ionic liquid.

MgO-based adsorbents for CO2 adsorption:Influence of structural and textural properties on the CO_2 adsorption performance

A series of MgO-based adsorbents were prepared through solution–combustion synthesis and ball-milling *** prepared MgO-based powders were characterized using X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,N_2 physisorption measurements,and employed as potential adsorbents for CO_2 *** influence of structural and textural properties of these adsorbents over the CO_2 adsorption behaviour was also *** results showed that MgO-based products prepared by solution–combustion and ball-milling processes,were highly porous,fluffy,nanocrystalline structures in nature,which are unique physico-chemical properties that significantly contribute to enhance their CO_2 *** was found that the MgO synthesized by solution combustion process,using a molar ratio of urea to magnesium nitrate（2：1）,and treated by ball-milling during 2.5 hr（MgO-BM2.5h）,exhibited the maximum CO_2 adsorption capacity of 1.611 mmol/g at 25℃ and 1 atm,mainly via *** CO_2 adsorption behaviour on the MgO-based adsorbents was correlated to their improved specific surface area,total pore volume,pore size distribution and *** reusability of synthesized MgO-BM2.5h was confirmed by five consecutive CO_2adsorption–desorption times,without any significant loss of performance,that supports the potential of MgO-based *** results confirmed that the special features of MgO prepared by solution–combustion and treated by ball-milling during 2.5 hr are favorable to be used as effective MgO-based adsorbent in post-combustion CO_2 capture technologies.

This paper aims to present a comprehensive proposal for project scheduling and control by applying fuzzy earned *** goes a step further than the existing literature:in the formulation of the fuzzy earned value we consider not only its duration,but also cost and production,and alternatives in the scheduling between the earliest and latest *** mathematical model is implemented in a prototypical construction project with all the estimated values taken as fuzzy *** findings suggest that different possible schedules and the fuzzy arithmetic provide more objective results in uncertain environments than the traditional *** proposed model allows for controlling the vagueness of the environment through the adjustment of the α-cut,adapting it to the specific circumstances of the project.

In Mexico,there is a need to produce.large quantities of plantlets for the establishment and re.lanting of blue(***)agave production *** of these plots are within the origin denomination area(DOT,spanish acronym)of the distilled product of this plant,known as *** objective of this study was to develop an in vitropropagation protocol for Agave tequilana Weber *** using segmented stems in both:solid and liquid media.A disinfection and in vitro technique were developed to obtain shoots,through plantlets collected in commercial plots,which attained 100%surface-disinfection and budding *** the multiplication stage,the effects of 6-Benzylaminopurine(BA)(0.0,4.4 and 13.2μM)and kinetin(0.0,9.4,18.8 and 37.6μM)were evaluated on lateralshoot production of segmented sagittal *** were cultivated on Murashige&skoog(Ms)medium,with the addition of 3.0%sucrose and 8 g l−1 *** was observed that BA and kinetin increased the number of shoots per explant,obtaining up to 18 and 26,***,it was found that just the sagittal segmentation of explants increased axillary *** the other hand,segmented-stem bases were grown in Ms liquid medium with 3.0%sucrose,inside a RITAsystem,programmed by a 5 min immersion step with a frequency of every 4 *** effect of Indole−3-Acetic acid(IAA)(0.57,2.9,5.7μM)was evaluated,while maintaining a concentration of BA(13.2μM).It was observed that the greatest concentration of IAA led to the formation of more than 20 buds per *** results offer a new methodology to increase the efficiency of *** Weber ***-in vitro multiplication by sagittal segmentation of stems and the addition of BA and/or IAA.

Methane from enteric fermentation is the gas with the greatest environmental impact emitted by ***(lv)addition to feedstocks could be a strategy to mitigate rumen methane emissions via decreasing the population of methanogenic archaea(MA).Thus,this paper provides the first overview of the effects of lv supplementation,focusing on the inhibition of methane production,rumen microbiota,and ruminal *** indicated that lv treatment had a strong anti-methanogenic effect on pure strains of ***,there are uncertainties from in vitro rumen fermentation trials with complex substrates and rumen ***-state fermentation(ssF)has emerged as a cost-effective option to produce *** this way,ssF of agricultural residues as an lv-carrier supplement in sheep and goats demonstrated a consistent decrease in ruminal methane *** experimental evidence for in vitro conditions showed that lv did not affect the volatile fatty acids(VFA).however,in vivo experiments demonstrated that the production of VFA was *** did not negatively affect the digestibility of dry matter during in vitro and in vivo methods,and there is even evidence that it can induce an increase in *** the rumen microbiota,populations of MA were reduced,and no differences were detected in alpha and beta diversity associated with lv ***,some changes in the relative abundance of the microbiota were *** studies are recommended on:(i)lv biodegradation products and stability,as we.l as its adsorption onto the solid matter in the rumen,to gain more insight on the“available”or effective.lv concentration;and(ii)to determine whether the effect of lv on ruminal fermentation also depends on the feed composition and different ruminants.

Recycling solid waste in cement-based materials cannot only ease its load on the natural environment but also reduce the carbon emissions of building *** study aims to investigate the effect of recycled glass powder(RGP)on the early-age mechanical properties and autogenous shrinkage of cement pastes,where cement is re.laced by 10%,20%and 30%of *** addition,the microstructure and nano-mechanical properties of cement paste with different RGP content and water to binder(W/B)ratio were also evaluated using seM,MIP and nanoindentation *** results indicate that the early-age autogenous shrinkage decreases with the increase of RGP content and W/B *** the mechanical strength deteriorates due to the addition of RGP,it can be compensated by reducing the W/B *** the addition of RGP increases the total porosity of the hardened paste,it reduces the small size porosity(he proportions of different types of C-s-h are changed,and the volume fraction of porosity is increased,but that of hydration products of cement paste is reduced due to the incorporation of *** its pozzolanic activity,the mitigated shrinkage deformation that RGP is generating in cement pastes is encouraging for its use as a novel supplementary cementitious material that reduces the early-age cracking risk of cement-based ***,the.life cycle assessments indicate that the RGP-cement component is an economical and eco-friendly novel engineering material.
