Zooplankton community of Keibul Lamjao national Park (KLnP) Manipur, India in relation to the physico-chemical variables of the water

Keibul Lamjao national Park （KLnP）, a floating park in Loktak Lake, Manipur （India） was studied from Winter （WIn） to Post Monsoon （POM） for its zooplankton composition and some selected water parameters. The resultant data were subjected to multivariate techniques---Principal Component Analysis （PCA） and Canonical Correspondence Analysis （CCA）. Analyses of water parameters with PCA revealed that the first PC axis （PC 1） accounts for maximum variance in the seasonal data, explaining a variability of 91%. The PCA revealed that the seasonal variability in water parameters was due to the wet and dry cycle of seasons and the stations were distinguished on the basis of transparency and turbidity. Zooplankton abundance was dominated by copepods followed by cladocerans. Temporally, abundance of copepods reached a maximum during Post-monsoon （POM）（3 880 ind./L）. Spatially, $6 was found to be most abundant of the other stations in zooplankton. Copepodites and nauplii larvae were the major components of zooplankton. The Rotifera were the least abundant among the three zooplankton groups. Brachionus formed the major component of Rotifera zooplankton at all the stations during the study period. In the Cladocera, Macrothrix was present during all the four seasons, while Pleuroxus, Oxyurella, Kurzia and, Diaphanosoma were rare. The CCA shows that maximal temporal variability in zooplankton abundance was explained by temperature and rainfall. AnOVA revealed no significant difference in mean zooplankton abundance among the seasons, but there was a statistically significant difference among the sites.

A large amount of materials science knowledge is generated and stored as text published in peer-reviewed scientific *** recent developments in natural language processing,such as Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers(BERT)models,provide promising information extraction tools,these models may yield suboptimal results when applied on materials domain since they are not trained in materials science specific notations and ***,we present a materials-aware language model,namely,MatSciBERT,trained on a large corpus of peer-reviewed materials science *** show that MatSciBERT outperforms SciBERT,a language model trained on science corpus,and establish state-of-the-art results on three downstream tasks,named entity recognition,relation classification,and abstract *** make the pre-trained weights of MatSciBERT publicly accessible for accelerated materials discovery and information extraction from materials science texts.

AIM: To evaluate the long-term outcomes of patients receiving adjuvant and salvage radiotherapy following prostatectomy with adverse pathologic features and an undetectable prostate specific antigen(PSA).METHODS: A retrospective review was performed of patients who received post-prostatectomy radiation at Loyola University Medical Center between 1992 and 2013. Adverse pathologic features(Gleason score ≥ 8, seminal vesicle invasion, extracapsular extension, pathologic T4 disease, and/or positive surgical margins) and an undetectable PSA following prostatectomy were required for inclusion. Adjuvant patients received therapy with an undetectable PSA, salvage patients following biochemical recurrence(BCR). Post-radiation BCR, overall survival, bone metastases, and initiation of hormonal therapy were assessed. Kaplan-Meier time-to-event analyses and stepwise Cox proportional hazards regression(HR) were performed. RESULTS: Post-prostatectomy patients(n = 134) received either adjuvant(n = 47) or salvage(n = 87) radiation. Median age at radiotherapy(RT) was 63 years, and median follow-up was 53 mo. Five-year post-radiation BCR-free survival was 78% for adjuvant vs 50% salvage radiotherapy(SRT)(Logrank P = 0.001). Patients with radiation administered following a detectable PSA had an increased risk of BCR compared to undetectable: PSA > 0.0-0.2: HR = 4.1(95%CI: 1.5-11.2; P = 0.005); PSA > 0.2-1.0: HR = 4.4(95%CI: 1.6-11.9; P = 0.003); and PSA > 1.0: HR = 52(95%CI: 12.9-210; P no demonstrable difference in rates of overall survival, bone metastases or utilization of hormonal therapy between adjuvant and SRT patients. COnCLUSIOn: Adjuvant RT improves BCR-free survival compared to SRT in patients with adverse pathologic features and an undetectable post-prostatectomy PSA.

The images capture in a bad environment usually loses its fidelity and *** the light rays travel towards its destination they get scattered several times due to the tiny particles of fog and pollutants in the environment,therefore the energy gets lost due to multiple scattering till it arrives its destination,and this degrades the *** the images taken in bad weather appear in bad ***,single image haze removal is quite a bit tough *** research has been done in the haze removal algorithm but in all the techniques,the coefficient of scattering is taken as a constant according to the homogeneous atmosphere but in real time this does not ***,this paper introduces a simple and efficient method so that the scattering coefficient becomes variable according to the inhomogeneous ***,this research aims to remove the haze with the help of a fast and effective algorithm i.e.,Prior Color Fading,according to the inhomogeneous environmental ***,to filter the depth map,the authors used a weighted guided image filtering which removes the drawbacks of guided image *** the scattering coefficient is made variable according to the inhomogeneous atmosphere and then the Simple Color Balance Algorithm is applied so that the readability property of images can be *** proposed method tested on various general outdoor images and synthetic hazy images and analyzed on various parameters Mean Square Error(MSE),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Peak Signal to noise Ratio(PSnR),Mean Structural Similarity(MSSIM)and the Universal Objective Quality Index(UQI).Experimental results for the proposed method show that the proposed approach provides better results as compared to the state-of-the-art haze removal algorithms.

We studied the effects of butyric acid (BA) on mouse skin tumorigenesis using chronicanimal bioassays. Topical application of BA immediately after each treatment with 12-0-te-t radecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate (TPA) promoter' inhi bi ted skint umors. The effect was depe n -dent on the dose of BA applied. BA showed no marked inhibitory effect on either skin tumorinitiation or complete tumorigenesis induced by dimet hyl benzant hracene (DMBA ). Si nce t u -mor promotion reportedly involves epigenetic events whereas tumor initiation or complete tu-morigenesis takes place through genetic pathways, it is Possible that BA exerts its antitumori-genic effects mainly by altering the epigenetic events responsible for tumor promotion. The re-sults of the study could further be used to study the mechanism of action and modification ofantitumorigenic effects of BA in combination with other substances

In this paper,we generalize the concept of asymptotic Hankel operators on H2(D)to the Hardy space H2(Dn)(over polydisk)in terms of asymptotic Hankel and partial asymptotic Hankel operators and investigate some properties in case of its weak and strong ***,we introduce ith-partial Hankel operators on H2(Dn)and obtain a characterization of its compactness for n>*** main results include the containment of Toeplitz algebra in the collection of all strong partial asymptotic Hankel operators on H2(Dn).It is also shown that a Toeplitz operator with symbolφis asymptotic Hankel if and only if φ is holomorphic function in L∞(Tn).

Serum Zn and Cu levels were measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry in 117 children (aged 3 months to 5 years)-, divided into two groups; 80 children suffered from severe malnutrition and 37 children served as controls. Significantly lower levels of serum Zn and Cu were found in the malnutrition group. Zn levels of 2. 59 ± 0. 15 μ g/ml as compared to 3. 92 ± 0. 35 μ g/ml in the control group (P = 0. 0037) and Cu levels of 0. 74 ± 0. 05 μ g/ml in the malnutrition group as compared to 1. 19 ± 0. 08 μ g/ml in the control group were observed. Superoxide dismutase activity in children with severe malnutrition was 21. 13 ± 0. 75 U/min per mg protein as compared to 26. 02 ± 0. 66 U/min per mg protein in controls. Absence of breast-feeding, recurrent respiratory tract infection and diarrhoea correlated significantly with low serum Zn and Cu levels. Hypoproteinaemia and anaemia in malnourished children were also associated with a significant decline in both serum Zn and Cu levels. Conclusion: Serum trace element deficiency leading to depleted antioxidant protection may be a contributing factor to the pathophysiology of proteinmalnutrition and replacement of these elements in the management of this condition might be important.

This study describes the designing steps of the proposed self-cleaning system for the photovoltaic(PV)system and experimentally investigates the effectiveness of the proposed self-cleaning PV sliding system for solar power plants under all Indian climate *** investigate the performance of the proposed self-cleaning PV sliding system,we used three PV panels of 20 W with a sliding structure and another set of three PV panels of 20 W with a traditional(fixed)technique,and recorded the output power for the period of December 2019 to April *** experimental results show that the proposed self-cleaning PV sliding system improved efficiency by 18.3%,13.3%and 6.4%,respectively,in the summer,winter and post-monsoon seasons when compared to the fixed PV *** results also revealed that energy consumption was very low when compared to the amount of energy *** proposed system not only cleans the PV system,but also protects it from *** results of this study show that there is a significant improvement in PV efficiency and thus an increase in electricity production under all climate conditions.
