Assembling ionic liquid into porous molecular filler of mixed matrix membrane to trigger high gas permeability,selectivity,and stability for CO_(2)/CH_(4) separation

As an emerging zero-dimensional nano crystalline porous material,porous organic cages(POCs)with soluble properties in organic solvents,are promising candidates as molecular fillers in mixed matrix membranes(MMMs).The pore structure of POCs should be adjusted to trigger efficient gas separation performance,and the interaction between filler and matrix should be *** this work,ionic liquid(IL)was introduced into the molecular fillers of CC3,to construct the IL@CC3/PIM-1 membrane to effectively separate CO_(2) from CH_(4).The advantages of doping IL include:(1)narrowing the cavity size of POCs from 4.4 to 3.9Åto enhance the diffusion selectivity,(2)strengthening the CO_(2) solubility to heighten the gas permeability,and(3)improving the compatibility between filler and matrix to upgrade membrane *** the optimization of the membrane composite,the IL@CC3/PIM-1-10%membrane possesses the CO_(2) permeability of 7868 Barrer and the CO_(2)/CH_(4) selectivity of 73.4,which compared to the CC3/PIM-1-10%membrane,improved by 15.9%and 106.2%,***,the membrane has maintained a stable separation performance at varied temperatures and pressures during the long-term *** proposed method offers an efficient way to improve the performance of POCs-based MMMs in gas separation.

A universal strategy for the refined frameworks and improved performance of distinct commercial polyacrylonitriles in sulfur cathodes

Sulfurized polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)with the exceptional stability,safety,low cost,and high capacity have been positioned as a highly promising cathode material for next-generation lithium-ion ***,in the market,polyacrylonitrile(PAN)sourced from different suppliers and available at varying prices exhibits significant variations in physical and chemical properties,resulting in diverse behaviors in li-SPAN *** studying the mechanism,we found that the PAN copolymerization structure leads to the stacking of chain segments which obstructs the embedding of sulfur and lithium ***,we propose a universal strategy for the refined frameworks by an exogenous additive to modify various PAN raw materials,and the battery capacity and cycling performance are obviously *** a result,the copolymerized SPAN with a poor original capacity is nearly doubled to over 500 mAh g^(-1),almost comparable to high-quality yet expensively imported products;for the sample with a high initial capacity but fading in ether-based electrolytes,it can be modified to maintain stability over 400 *** strategy offers an alternative approach for SPAN modification that is characterized by its simplicity and low cost,thereby facilitating the large-scale development of li-SPAN batteries.

Ti-based catalysts are known to improve the hydrogen storage performance of NaAlH4by facilitating the dissociation/recombination of H-H and Al-H *** catalytic activity of metallic Ti species strongly depends on its particle size and *** clusters and even single atoms are therefore highly desirable,but their controllable fabrication has been highly *** rein,we demonstrate a novel facile sonochemical synthesis of a Ti-O clusters featuring single Ti atom catalyst at room *** reducing TiCl_(4)by MgBu_(2)with ultrasound instead of heating as driving force,numerous single Ti atoms coupled with Ti-O clusters with Ti loading on graphene(Ti_(1)/Ti-O@G)up to 22.6 wt%have been successfully *** prepared Ti_(1)/Ti-O@G contributes high reactivity and superior catalytic activity,therefore enabling full dehydrogenation of NaAlH_(4)at 80℃in thermogravimetric mode and re-hydrogenation at 30℃and 10 MPa with 4.9 wt% H_(2).This fact indicates for the first time that single Ti atom catalyst with high loading is highly effective in catalyzing hydrogen cycling of NaAlH4at remarkably reduced temperatures.

●AIM:To investigate a pioneering framework for the segmentation of meibomian glands(MGs),using limited annotations to reduce the workload on ophthalmologists and enhance the efficiency of clinical diagnosis.●METHODS:Totally 203 infrared meibomian images from 138 patients with dry eye disease,accompanied by corresponding annotations,were gathered for the study.A rectified scribble-supervised gland segmentation(RSSGS)model,incorporating temporal ensemble prediction,uncertainty estimation,and a transformation equivariance constraint,was introduced to address constraints imposed by limited supervision information inherent in scribble *** viability and efficacy of the proposed model were assessed based on accuracy,intersection over union(IoU),and dice coefficient.●RESULTS:Using manual labels as the gold standard,RSSGS demonstrated outcomes with an accuracy of 93.54%,a dice coefficient of 78.02%,and an IoU of 64.18%.Notably,these performance metrics exceed the current weakly supervised state-of-the-art methods by 0.76%,2.06%,and 2.69%,***,despite achieving a substantial 80%reduction in annotation costs,it only lags behind fully annotated methods by 0.72%,1.51%,and 2.04%.●CONCLUSION:An innovative automatic segmentation model is developed for MGs in infrared eyelid images,using scribble annotation for *** model maintains an exceptionally high level of segmentation accuracy while substantially reducing training *** holds substantial utility for calculating clinical parameters,thereby greatly enhancing the diagnostic efficiency of ophthalmologists in evaluating meibomian gland dysfunction.

Optimal pivot path of the simplex method for linear programming based on reinforcement learning

Based on the existing pivot rules,the simplex method for linear programming is not polynomial in the worst ***,the optimal pivot of the simplex method is *** this paper,we propose the optimal rule to find all the shortest pivot paths of the simplex method for linear programming problems based on Monte Carlo tree ***,we first propose the SimplexPseudoTree to transfer the simplex method into tree search mode while avoiding repeated basis ***,we propose four reinforcement learning models with two actions and two rewards to make the Monte Carlo tree search suitable for the simplex ***,we set a new action selection criterion to ameliorate the inaccurate evaluation in the initial *** is proved that when the number of vertices in the feasible region is C_(n)^(m),our method can generate all the shortest pivot paths,which is the polynomial of the number of *** addition,we experimentally validate that the proposed schedule can avoid unnecessary search and provide the optimal pivot ***,this method can provide the best pivot labels for all kinds of supervised learning methods to solve linear programming problems.

A Comparative Study of Machine Learning Models for Traffic Accident Severity Prediction on Rural Highways

The use of machine learning models for analyzing Traffic Accident Severity (TAS) is increasingly common in safety assessment and traffic accident prevention. However， many existing studies have not fully considered the importance of feature engineering， model hyperparameter optimization， and training set proportions， all of which significantly affect the performance of these models. This study addresses the research gap by developing a TAS model using the light Gradient Boosting Machine (lightGBM) and integrating two feature engineering methods (Random Forest (RF) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA)). Additionally， we compared the lightGBM with three other machine learning models: Support Vector Machine (SVM)， Binary Logistic Regression (BL)， and Deep Neural Network (DNN). This comparison evaluates the effectiveness of different machine learning approaches in classifying TAS， taking into account variations in feature engineering techniques and training set proportions. The case study examines rural highway accidents in Yunnan Province， China， focusing on three categories of factors influencing TAS: accident characteristics， traffic flow， and highway conditions. Moreover， the SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) values were employed to identify the primary factors contributing to the accident severity. The results show that with the training set size of 80%， all four models achieve the highest predictive accuracy for severe accidents. Notably， the PCA+lightGBM combination model outperforms others in overall accident prediction accuracy and has the highest recall rate and F1 score for severe accidents. Comparing the four models under different feature inputs， the impact of feature selection on model performance is less significant than reducing the data heterogeneity. lightGBM and DNN are more susceptible to data heterogeneity， and improving data homogeneity markedly boosts the model’s performance. Voltage-modulated polymer nanopore field-effect transistor for multi-sized nanoparticle detection

Solid-state nanopores offer a range of distinct advantages over biological nanopores, such as structural diversity and greater stability and durability; this makes them highly promising for high-resolution nanoparticle sensing. Biological nanopores can exhibit gating characteristics with stress-responsive switches and can demonstrate specificity toward particular molecules. Drawing inspiration from biological nanopores, this paper introduces a novel polymer nanopore with field-effect characteristics, leveraging a conductive polymer in its construction to showcase intriguing gating behavior. Notably, in this device, the polymer layer serves as the gate, enabling precise control over the source-drain current response inside and outside the pore by simply adjusting the gate voltage. This unique feature allows fine-tuning of the nanopore's sensitivity to nanoparticles of varying sizes and facilitates its operation in multiple modes. Experimental results reveal that the developed polymer nanopore field-effect transistor demonstrates remarkable selectivity in detecting nanoparticles of various sizes under different applied voltages. The proposed single device demonstrates the exceptional ability to detect multiple types of nanoparticle, showcasing its immense potential for a wide range of applications in biological-particle analysis and medical diagnostics.
