Association between inflammatory bowel disease and all-cause dementia:A two-sample Mendelian randomization study

BACKGROUND Numerous observational studies have documented a correlation between inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)and an increased risk of ***,the causality of their associations remains *** To assess the causal relationship between IBD and the occurrence of all-cause dementia using the two-sample Mendelian randomization(MR)*** Genetic variants extracted from the large genome-wide association study(GWAS)for IBD(the International IBD Genetics Consortium,n=34652)were used to identify the causal link between IBD and dementia(FinnGen,n=306102).The results of the study were validated via another IBD GWAS(United Kingdom Biobank,n=463372).Moreover,MR egger intercept,MR pleiotropy residual sum and outlier,and Cochran's Q test were employed to evaluate pleiotropy and ***,multiple MR methods were performed to estimate the effects of genetically predicted IBD on dementia,with the inverse variance weighted approach adopted as the primary *** The results of the pleiotropy and heterogeneity tests revealed an absence of significant pleiotropic effects or heterogeneity across all genetic variants in outcome *** evidence of a causal effect between IBD and the risk of dementia was identified in the inverse variance weighted[odds ratio(OR)=0.980,95%CI:0.942-1.020,P value=0.325],weighted median(OR=0.964,95%CI:0.914-1.017,P value=0.180),and MR-Egger(OR=0.963,95%CI:0.867-1.070,P value=0.492)*** results were observed in validation *** MR analysis also showed no effect of dementia on the development of ***,MR analysis suggested that IBD and its subtypes did not causally affect allcause dementia and its four subtypes,including dementia in Alzheimer's disease,vascular dementia,dementia in other diseases classified elsewhere,and unspecified *** Taken together,our MR study signaled that IBD and its subentities were not genetically associated with all-cause dementia or its

The emerging applications of composite gels as thermal interface ma-terials(TIMs)for chip heat dissipation in intelligent vehicle and wear-able devices require high thermal conductivity and remarkable damp-ing ***,thermal conductivity and damping proper-ties are usually correlated and coupled each ***,inspired by Maxwell theory and adhesion mechanism of gecko’s setae,we present a strategy to fabricate polydimethylsiloxane-based composite gels in-tegrating high thermal conductivity and remarkable damping prop-erties over a broad frequency and temperature *** multiple relaxation modes of dangling chains and the dynamic interaction be-tween the dangling chains and aluminum fillers can efficiently dis-sipate the vibration energy,endowing the composite gels with ultra-high damping property(tanδ>0.3)over a broad frequency(0.01-100 Hz)and temperature range(-50-150°C),which exceeds typi-cal state-of-the-art damping *** dangling chains also com-fort to the interfaces between polymer matrix and aluminum via van der Waals interaction,resulting in high thermal conductivity(4.72±0.04 W m-1 K-1).Using the polydimethylsiloxane-based composite gel as TIMs,we demonstrate effective heat dissipation in chip oper-ating under vigorous *** believe that our strategy could be applied to a wide range of composite gels and lead to the devel-opment of high-performance composite gels as TIMs for chip heat dissipation.

The terminal flower buds of 6-yr-old Hanfu apple were used to study the ovule development, ovular characteristics, cell death of abortive ovules, and dynamic change of starch grain quantity in the embryo sac with paraffin slices and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated fluorescein deoxyuridine triphosphate nick-end labeling （TUNEL） system. Four anatropous ovules in each ventricle could be observed before flowering. With the developing of floral organ, the bulk of normal ovules enlarged in each ventricle, the mature embryo sac differentiated into nucellus, and the egg cell developed into zygote by double fertilization. A large number of starch grains were observed during pollen tube growth and double fertilization, which guaranteed basic nutrient supply in the normal development of ovules. Moreover, abortion phenomenon of runtish ovules emerged at the stages of mature embryo sac, double fertilization and zygote development. The abortion characteristics included deformity of ovule development, degradation of nucellus tissue, separation between funiculus and ovule, abnormality of four-nucleate embryo sac, as well as development interruption of mature embryo sac. TUNEL analysis proved that ovule abortion was programmed cell death.

By using the Riemann-Hilbert method and the Corona theorem, Wiener-Hopf factorization for a class of matrix functions is studied. Under appropriate assumption, a sufficient and neces- sary condition for the existence of the matrix function admitting canonical factorization is obtained and the solution to a class of non-linear Riemann-Hilbert problems is also given. Furthermore, by means of non-standard Corona theorem partial estimation of the general factorization can be obtained.
