Qian-Zheng-San, a traditional Chinese prescription consisting of Typhonii Rhizoma, Bombyx Batryticatus, Scorpio, has been found to play an active therapeutic role in central nervous system diseases. However, it is unclear whether Qian-Zheng-San has therapeutic value for peripheral nerve injury. Therefore, we used Sprague-Dawley rats to investigate this. A sciatic nerve crush injury model was induced by clamping the right sciatic nerve. Subsequently, rats in the treatment group were administered 2 mL Qian-Zheng-San(1.75 g/mL) daily as systemic therapy for 1, 2, 4, or 8 weeks. Rats in the control group were not administered Qian-Zheng-San. Rats in sham group did not undergo surgery and systemic therapy. Footprint analysis was used to assess nerve motor function. Electrophysiological experiments were used to detect nerve conduction function. Immunofluorescence staining was used to assess axon counts and morphological analysis. Immunohistochemical staining was used to observe myelin regeneration of the sciatic nerve and the number of motoneurons in the anterior horn of the spinal cord. At 2 and 4 weeks postoperatively, the sciatic nerve function index, nerve conduction velocity, the number of distant regenerated axons and the axon diameter of the sciatic nerve increased in the Qian-Zheng-San treatment group compared with the control group. At 2 weeks postoperatively, nerve fiber diameter, myelin thickness, and the number of motor neurons in the lumbar spinal cord anterior horn increased in the Qian-Zheng-San treatment group compared with the control group. These results indicate that QianZheng-San has a positive effect on peripheral nerve regeneration.

In recent years,graphics processing units(GPUs)have been applied to accelerate Monte Carlo(MC)simulations for proton dose calculation in ***,current GPU platforms,such as Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA)and Open Computing Language(OpenCL),suffer from cross-platform limitation or relatively high programming ***,the Taichi toolkit,which was developed to overcome these difficulties,has been successfully applied to high-performance numerical *** on the class II condensed history simulation scheme with various proton-nucleus interactions,we developed a GPU-accelerated MC engine for proton transport using the Taichi *** distributions in homogeneous and heterogeneous geometries were calculated for 110,160,and 200 MeV protons and were compared with those obtained by full MC simulations using *** gamma passing rates were greater than 0.99 and 0.95 with criteria of 2 mm,2%and 1 mm,1%,respectively,in all the benchmark ***,the calculation speed was at least 5800 times faster than that of TOPAS,and the number of lines of code was approximately 10 times less than those of CUDA or *** study provides a highly accurate,efficient,and easy-to-use proton dose calculation engine for fast prototyping,beamlet calculation,and education purposes.

Identification of pollution sources in river based on particle swarm optimization

The pollution sources identification model is presented by the coupling of the river water quality model and particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm to estimate pollution sources from the measured/simulated contaminant concentration in the ***“twin experiment”is adopted to verify the feasibility of the identification model,and three cases are constructed to explore the results of the identification model in different *** experiment test demonstrated that the identification model is effective and efficient,while the model can accurately figure out the quantities of the pollutants and position of a single pollution source or multiple sources,with the relative error of the mean is less than 3%.Many factors are explored,including the level of random disturbance and the impact of particle population *** outcome showed that the disturbance level is less than 5%,thus the precision is preferable,and when the number of particles is three,the identification is the *** performing multiple sources,identification of multiple sets of monitoring sections respectively can obtain more accurate results with less *** this paper,the optimization method of the inverse problem is applied to the identification of river pollution sources,which can help us to identify pollution sources and provide us a scientific basis for subsequent water pollution control and prevention.

Lithium iron phosphate （LiFePO4） doped with magnesium was hydrothermally synthesized from commercial LiOH, FeSO4, H3PO4 and MgSO4 with glucose as carbon precursor in aqueous solution. The samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and constant charge-discharge cycling. The results show that the synthesized powders have been in situ coated with carbon precursor produced from caramel reaction of glucose. At ambient temperature （28±2℃）, the electrochemical performances of LiFePO4 prepared exhibit the high discharge capacity of 135 mAh g^-1 at 5C and good capacity retention of 98% over 90 cycles. The excellent electrochemical performances should be correlated with the intimate contact between carbon and LiFePO4 primary and secondary particles, resulting from the in situ formation of carbon precursor/carbon, leading to the increase in conductivity of LiFePO4.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)combined with warm acupuncture in treating breast cancer associated with upper limb lymphedema(BCRL).Methods This was a retrospective cohort study using a paired control ***-two BCRL patients were assigned to the control group(27 cases)and the treatment group(25 cases).The patients in the control group were treated with lymphedema comprehensive detumescence treatment(CDT)for 4 weeks,including systematic therapy composed of manual lymphatic drainage,compression bandage,skincare,and functional *** patients in the treatment group were treated with TEAS combined with warm acupuncture based on the control group *** treatment lasted for 30 min and was applied twice a week for 4 *** arm circumference(AC)of different positions of the affected limb and the degree of swelling of the affected limb were evaluated before the first treatment and after the last *** clinical efficacy was evaluated according to the degree of edema before and after *** adverse events during treatment were *** The patients’AC and the swelling feeling of the affected limb in the treatment group and the control group were both reduced compared with those before *** with the control group,AC of the wrist joint transverse stria,the midpoint between the wrist joint transverse stria and the elbow joint transverse stria in the treatment group were significantly reduced(P<0.05).The decrease in AC diameter at the midpoint between the elbow joint transverse stria and the axillary transverse stria was the most significant(P<0.01).The swelling degree of the affected limbs in the treatment group was significantly lower than before treatment,and was significantly lower compared with the control group after treatment(P<0.01).The total effective rate was 72%in the treatment group,significantly higher than that in the control group(55.56%,P<0

In this study, Fe3O4nanoparticles（Fe3O4NPs） were successfully prepared via oxidation–precipitation method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, X-ray diffraction（XRD） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）. The characterization results indicated that Fe3O4 NPs with regular crystal structure and a narrow of diameters had been synthesized successfully and had high purity. A series of experiments were carried out to investigate the degradation of Orange II by the obtained heterogeneous Fe3O4 catalysts in the presence of H2O2. The response surface methodology（RSM） based on Box–Behnken design（BBD） was employed to design and optimize individual and interactive effects of the four main independent parameters（catalyst loading, initial p H, reaction temperature and H2O2concentration） on decolorization efficiency of Orange II. A significant quadratic model（p-value 〈0.0001, R2= 0.9369） was derived using analysis of variance（ANOVA）. Optimum conditions were catalyst loading of 1.5 g/L, initial p H of 2.7, reaction temperature of 42 8C and H2O2 concentration of 22 mmol/L, respectively. The predicted decolorization rate under the optimum conditions as determined by the proposed model was 99.55%. Confirmatory tests were carried out and the decolorization rate of 99.49% was observed under the optimum conditions, which agreed well with the model prediction.

Hypoxia-induced erythropoietin signaling plays an important role in tumor growth and *** the present study,we investigated the contribution of erythropoietin signaling pathway to castration-resistant prostate cancer and the development of a neuroendocrine *** staining showed that the erythropoietin and erythropoietin receptor scores in castration-resistant prostate cancer and androgen-dependent prostate cancer were 7.55 versus 4.5 and 7.45 versus 5.9,respectively(P<0.001).Furthermore,a cell proliferation assay was conducted,and the differential expression of erythropoietin and erythropoietin receptor in LNCaP cells and hypoxia-induced LNCaP cells was evaluated using western blot and quantitative real-time *** proliferation capacity of hypoxia-induced LNCaP cells was similar in cultures of both fetal bovine serum and charcoal-stripped fetal bovine serum,suggesting that LNCaP cells acquired hypoxia-induced androgen-independent *** 2 weeks of hypoxic culture,LNCaP cells showed a neuroendocrine cell change and increased expression of neuron-specific enolase,erythropoietin,and erythropoietin receptor;knockdown of erythropoietin receptor reversed the hypoxia-induced upregulation of neuron-specific enolase in the LNCaP *** conclusion,the concurrent upregulation of erythropoietin and erythropoietin receptor in castration-resistant prostate cancer suggests that the erythropoietin/erythropoietin receptor autocrine loop plays an important role in the progression of castration resistance and is responsible for the development of a neuroendocrine phenotype.

A large number of the isomers of neutral and ionic Snn（n=2-15） clusters have been designed and optimized at the level of MP2/LANL2DZ with the aid of the Gaussian 09 software package. The most stable geometric structures of ionic（cationic and anionic） Sn clusters have been compared with the corresponding neutral geometries. Most structures of Snn＋ and Snn are similar to each other except for the structures of those with n=5, 11 and 15; while the anions Snn- are almost different from Snn clusters with n=9--15 except for Sn12- and Snl4-. The electronic properties have been calculated, including binding energy, second difference in energy, HOMO-LUMO gaps, ionization potentials, and electron affinities.

Angiotensin I converting enzyme （ACE） plays an important physiological role in the regulation of hypertension. In this study, we applied virtual screening to discover a novel angiotensin I converting enzyme inhibitory peptides from milk casein. One potential hit was identified based on docking scores, subsequently confirmed by activity studies in vitro （IC50=20.85 μmol L-1）. The proposed peptide in this study contains a unique sequence, Lys-Val-Leu-Ile-Leu-Ala. Moreover, we performed the docking studies to understand the binding mode between the enzyme and peptide hit.
