AIM:To determine the efficacy profiles of different concentrations of Lactobacillus acidophilus(***)for treating colitis using an experimental murine ***:Colitis was established in 64 BALB/c mice by adding 5%dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)to the drinking water and allowing ad libitum access for 7 *** mice were then randomly divided into the following control and experimental model groups(n=8 each;day 0):untreated model control;negative-treatment model control(administered gavage of 1 mL/10 g normal saline);experimental-treatment models C4-C8(administered gavage of 104,105,106,107,or 108CFU/10 g ***,respectively);positive-treatment model control(administration of the anti-inflammatory agent prednisone acetate at 45 g/10 g).Eight mice given regular water(no DSS)and no subsequent treatments served as the normal control *** weight,fecal traits,and presence of fecal occult blood were assessed *** animals were sacrificed on post-treatment day7 to measure colonic length,perform histological scoring,and quantify the major bacteria in the proximal and distal *** differences were determined by one-way ANOVA and post-hoc Student-Newman-Keuls ***:All treatments(*** and prednisone acetate)protected against colitis-induced weight loss(PC4>C5>C7>C8>C6;P0.05).The C6 group also had the lowest disease activity index scores among the model *** bacterial profiles in the proximal colon were similar between all of the experimental-treatment model groups(all P>0.05).In contrast,the bacterial profile in the distal colon of the C6 group showed the distinctive features(P<0.05 vs all other experimental-treatment model groups)of Lactobacillus

The oral cavity is a complex physiological community encompassing a wide range of *** of oral microbiota can lead to various oral infectious diseases,such as periodontitis and tooth decay,and even affect systemic health,including brain aging and neurodegenerative *** studies have highlighted how oral microbes might be involved in brain aging and neurodegeneration,indicating potential avenues for intervention *** this review,we summarize clinical evidence demonstrating a link between oral microbes/oral infectious diseases and brain aging/neurodegenerative diseases,and dissect potential mechanisms by which oral microbes contribute to brain aging and *** also highlight advances in therapeutic development grounded in the realm of oral microbes,with the goal of advancing brain health and promoting healthy aging.

Background:Rosa chinensis *** Rosa rugosa *** not only of ornamental value,but also edible flowers and the flower buds have been listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as traditional *** two plants have some differences in efficacy,but the flower buds are easily confused for similar *** addition,large-scale cultivation of ornamental rose flowers may lead to a decrease in the effective components of medicinal ***,it is necessary to study the chemical composition and make quality evaluation of Rosae Chinensis Flos(Yueji)and Rosae Rugosae Flos(Meigui).Methods:In this study,40 batches of samples including Meigui and Yueji from different regions in China were collected to establish high-performance liquid chromatography ***,the fingerprints data was analyzed using principal component analysis,hierarchical cluster analysis,and partial least squares discriminant analysis analysis chemometrics to obtain information on intergroup differences,and non-targeted metabolomic techniques were applied to identify and compare chemical compositions of samples which were chosen from groups with large *** compounds were screened by orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis and S-plot,and finally multi-component quantification was performed to comprehensively evaluate the quality of Yueji and ***:The similarity between the fingerprints of 40 batches roses and the reference print R was 0.73 to 0.93,indicating that there were similarities and differences between the *** principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis of fingerprints data,the samples from different origins and varieties were intuitively divided into four *** least-squares discriminant analysis analysis showed that Meigui and Yueji cluster into two categories and the model was reliable.A total of 89 compounds were identified by high resolution mass spectrometry,mainly were flavonoids and flavon

In the nonaqueous N,N -dimethylformamide medium, the chiral drugs ibuprofen and terbutaline were successfully separated with sulfonyl- β -cyclodextrin(s- β -CD) as the chiral selector by capillary electrophoresis with conductance detection. The comparison of the effects of three CDS( β -CD, diethylic- β -CD, sulfonyl- β -CD) on the chiral separation was made and the resolution mechanism was proposed.

Occurrence and Characterization of Pale,Soft,Exudative-Like Broiler Muscle Commercially Produced in China

Pale, soft, exudative-like （PSE-like） broiler muscle is a growing problem for meat industry all over the world. However, limited studies have been made to assess broiler meat quality in China. The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristics and incidence of PSE-like broiler muscle commercially produced in China. A total of 1 274 Pectoralis muscles of Arbor Acre broiler were randomly obtained from the processing line to determine the commercial incidence of PSE-like muscle based on color. Furthermore, broiler Pectoralis muscles selected from the 1 274 muscle samples were classified as PSE-like muscle （L＊〉53, n=33） and normal muscle （L＊〉48 and L＊=53, n=33） to assess meat quality. It was determined that PSE-like muscle had lower muscle pH values, lower water-holding capacity （WHC）, lower sarcoplasmic protein solubility, and lower total protein solubility than the normal muscle did. SDS-PAGE profile also showed that bands of approximate 96 and 24 kDa in sarcoplasmic protein and myofibrillar protein varied between these two groups, suggesting partial denaturation of sarcoplasmic proteins and precipitation on myofillarments. Correlation analysis showed that L＊ values have significant correlation with WHC and protein solubility. Furthermore, the distribution of L＊ values exhibited a normal curve with range varying from 42.70 to 58.37. It was considered that approximately 23.39% of the population was PSE-like muscle. These results suggest that PSE-like meat can represent a significant portion of commercially processed broiler breast meat in China and that the L＊ value measurement could be used to sort broiler meat quality using a cut-off point.

The present study documents the variability of surface sensible heat flux over Northwest China using station observations for the period 1961 *** is found that the afternoon and nighttime sensible heat flux variations are remarkably *** variability of the instant flux in the afternoon is much larger than in the *** afternoon and nighttime flux anomalies tend to be *** diurnal and seasonal dependence of sensible heat flux variations is closely related to the diurnal cycle of mean land-air temperature *** relationship of sensible heat flux with land-air temperature difference based on the instant value differs from that based on the daily *** present study indicates the importance for the models to properly simulate mean land-air temperature difference and its diurnal and seasonal variations in order to capture surface sensible heat flux variability over Northwest China and predicts its plausible impacts on climate.

A set of new 2-D equations of interchange between suspended sediment and bed materials was serived by theoretical deduction based on the systematic summarization and assessment the previous studies of simulating the interchange between suspended sediment and bed materials in the Lower Yellow River. This model was used to simulate the erosion and deposition processes caused by the interchange between suspended sediment and bed materials in a sketch channel. The results show that these equations are well consistent with the laws of interchange between suspended sediment and bed materials. Furthermore, compared with previous models, it has important practical value not only because of strong theoretical foundation, but also for smaller amount of calculating work and convenient application in practice.

We demonstrate a facile hydrothermal one-pot synthesis method for producing single crystalline mesoporous PtPd bimetallic nanoparticles with a hollow interior and porous surface structure in the presence of Br- and F ions. The formation process analysis indicated that the coexistence of Br- and I- ions is responsible for the formation of the novel bimetallic nanoparticles. The changes in the reduction potential of Pt and Pd metal ions achieved by the coordination with different halide ions resulted in the formation of hollow interiors as a galvanic reaction between Pd2~ and Pt4. ions occurred. In addition, the size of the mesoporous PtPd nanoparticles can be well controlled by slightly changing the amount of I- ions used. The electrochemical tests indicated that the as- synthesized single crystalline mesoporous PtPd hollow nanoparticles exhibited enhanced catalytic properties toward methanol and ethanol oxidation reactions as compared with the commercial Pt black and Pt/C materials.
